Depois de dois anos completos, o faraó teve um sonho. Nesse sonho ele estava em pé, na margem do rio Nilo.
Y ACONTECIÓ que pasados dos años tuvo Faraón un sueño: Parecíale que estaba junto al río;

Depois viu sair do rio sete vacas feias e magras. Elas pararam ao lado das gordas, na beira do rio.
Y que otras siete vacas subían tras ellas del río, de fea vista, y enjutas de carne, y se pararon cerca de las vacas hermosas á la orilla del río:
And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

Então as vacas feias e magras comeram as belas e gordas. Aí o faraó acordou.
Y que las vacas de fea vista y enjutas de carne devoraban á las siete vacas hermosas y muy gordas. Y despertó Faraón.
And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

Depois dormiu de novo e teve outro sonho. Ele sonhou que num só talo nasciam sete espigas cheias e boas.
Durmióse de nuevo, y soñó la segunda vez: Que siete espigas llenas y hermosas subían de una sola caña:
And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

Em seguida brotaram mais sete espigas do mesmo talo, porém miúdas e ressequidas pelo vento leste.

De manhã, ficou muito preocupado com os sonhos que teve e mandou chamar todos os magos e todos os sábios do Egito, e contou-lhes os sonhos; mas ninguém foi capaz de interpretá-los.
Y acaeció que á la mañana estaba agitado su espíritu; y envió é hizo llamar á todos los magos de Egipto, y á todos sus sabios: y contóles Faraón sus sueños, mas no había quien á Faraón los declarase.
And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

Na mesma noite, nós dois tivemos um sonho. Cada sonho tinha uma interpretação diferente.

Estava conosco um jovem hebreu, servo do comandante da guarda. Contamos a ele os nossos sonhos, e ele interpretou cada um dos sonhos.

E aconteceu exatamente conforme a sua interpretação: eu voltei para o meu cargo, e o outro foi pendurado num poste”.

Então o faraó mandou buscar José, que foi tirado às pressas do calabouço. José fez a barba, trocou de roupa, e se apresentou ao faraó.
Entonces Faraón envió y llamó á José; é hiciéronle salir corriendo de la cárcel, y le cortaron el pelo, y mudaron sus vestidos, y vino á Faraón.

O faraó disse a José: “Tive um sonho, e ninguém consegue interpretá-lo. Ouvi dizer que quando você ouve um sonho, é capaz de interpretá-lo”.

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”
José lhe respondeu: “Eu mesmo não posso fazê-lo, mas Deus vai dar uma resposta favorável ao faraó”.

And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

Então o faraó contou o sonho a José: “Sonhei que estava em pé, na beira do rio Nilo.

De repente vi que sete vacas belas e gordas saíram do rio e ficaram pastando no capinzal.
Y que del río subían siete vacas de gruesas carnes y hermosa apariencia, que pacían en el prado:
And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
and behold, seven fat and sleek cattle came up out of the river. They fed in the marsh grass;
Logo depois saíram outras vacas feias e magras. Nunca vi vacas tão feias em toda a terra do Egito!
Y que otras siete vacas subían después de ellas, flacas y de muy fea traza; tan extenuadas, que no he visto otras semejantes en toda la tierra de Egipto en fealdad:
And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
and behold, seven other cattle came up after them, poor and very ugly and thin, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for ugliness.
E as vacas magras e feias comeram as primeiras sete vacas gordas.
Y las vacas flacas y feas devoraban á las siete primeras vacas gruesas:
And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:
The thin and ugly cattle ate up the first seven fat cattle;
E, para meu espanto, notei que essas vacas continuavam muito magras, mesmo depois de terem comido as outras! Então acordei.
Y entraban en sus entrañas, mas no se conocía que hubiesen entrado en ellas, porque su parecer era aún malo, como de primero. Y yo desperté.
And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

Depois nasceram no mesmo talo sete espigas miúdas e murchas, ressequidas pelo vento leste.
Y que otras siete espigas menudas, marchitas, abatidas del Solano, subían después de ellas:
And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

E as espigas magras engoliram as sete espigas boas. Contei os sonhos aos magos, mas ninguém foi capaz de dizer o sentido deles”.
Y las espigas menudas devoraban á las siete espigas hermosas: y helo dicho á los magos, mas no hay quien me lo declare.
And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.
The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads of grain. I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.”
Então, José lhe respondeu: “Os dois sonhos, na verdade, são um só. Deus revelou ao faraó o que ele vai fazer”.
Entonces respondió José á Faraón: El sueño de Faraón es uno mismo: Dios ha mostrado á Faraón lo que va á hacer.
And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dream of Pharaoh is one. What God is about to do he has declared to Pharaoh.
As sete vacas boas simbolizam sete anos; a mesma coisa ocorre com as espigas, porque se trata de um único sonho.
Las siete vacas hermosas siete años son; y las espigas hermosas son siete años: el sueño es uno mismo.
The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
The seven good cattle are seven years; and the seven good heads of grain are seven years. The dream is one.
As sete vacas magras e feias que apareceram depois das vacas gordas, bem como as sete espigas miúdas, ressequidas pelo vento leste, simbolizam sete anos de fome.
También las siete vacas flacas y feas que subían tras ellas, son siete años; y las siete espigas menudas y marchitas del Solano, siete años serán de hambre.
And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

“Exatamente o que Deus revelou ao faraó é o que ele vai fazer.
Esto es lo que respondo á Faraón. Lo que Dios va á hacer, halo mostrado á Faraón.
This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.
That is the thing which I have spoken to Pharaoh. God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do.
Virão sete anos de muita fartura em toda a terra do Egito,
He aquí vienen siete años de grande hartura en toda la tierra de Egipto:
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
Behold, seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt are coming.
mas depois vamos ter sete anos de fome. A miséria será tanta que ninguém na terra do Egito se lembrará da fartura anterior, pois a fome arruinará a terra.
Y levantarse han tras ellos siete años de hambre; y toda la hartura será olvidada en la tierra de Egipto; y el hambre consumirá la tierra;
And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
Seven years of famine will arise after them, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land,
A fome que virá depois será tão terrível que o tempo de fartura não mais será lembrado na terra.
Y aquella abundancia no se echará de ver á causa del hambre siguiente, la cual será gravísima.
And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
and the plenty will not be known in the land by reason of that famine which follows; for it will be very grievous.
O sonho do faraó foi duplo, para mostrar que essas coisas foram determinadas por Deus, e que ele se apressa em realizá-las.
Y el suceder el sueño á Faraón dos veces, significa que la cosa es firme de parte de Dios, y que Dios se apresura á hacerla.
And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

“Agora dou a seguinte sugestão ao faraó: O faraó deve escolher um homem criterioso e sábio para comandar a terra do Egito.
Por tanto, provéase ahora Faraón de un varón prudente y sabio, y póngalo sobre la tierra de Egipto.
Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

O faraó também deve nomear administradores sobre a terra, para recolher a quinta parte de toda a colheita da terra do Egito durante os sete anos de fartura.
Haga esto Faraón, y ponga gobernadores sobre el país, y quinte la tierra de Egipto en los siete años de la hartura;
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

Esses administradores deverão recolher toda a colheita de trigo dos anos bons que virão, o qual será estocado em armazéns, sob o controle do faraó, para mantimento nas cidades.
Y junten toda la provisión de estos buenos años que vienen, y alleguen el trigo bajo la mano de Faraón para mantenimiento de las ciudades; y guárdenlo.
And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

Esse mantimento servirá como reserva para os sete anos de fome que haverá no Egito, para que a nação sobreviva à crise”.

O faraó e os seus oficiais gostaram do conselho de José.
Y el negocio pareció bien á Faraón, y á sus siervos.

O faraó disse aos seus oficiais: “Será que encontraríamos alguém como este homem, em quem está o Espírito de Deus?”

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

Em seguida o faraó disse a José: “Visto que Deus lhe fez saber todas estas coisas, não há ninguém tão criterioso e sábio como você.
Y dijo Faraón á José: Pues que Dios te ha hecho saber todo esto, no hay entendido ni sabio como tú:
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Because God has shown you all of this, there is no one so discreet and wise as you.
Por isso, você será o administrador da minha casa, e todo o meu povo obedecerá às suas ordens. Somente em relação ao trono real serei maior do que você”.
Tú serás sobre mi casa, y por tu dicho se gobernará todo mi pueblo: solamente en el trono seré yo mayor que tú.
Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

E acrescentou: “Dou autoridade a você sobre toda a terra do Egito”.
Dijo más Faraón á José: He aquí yo te he puesto sobre toda la tierra de Egipto.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

Em seguida, o faraó tirou do seu dedo o seu anel com o selo real, e o colocou no dedo de José. Mandou vestir nele roupas de linho fino e colocou um colar de ouro ao redor do seu pescoço (como era costume entre os homens poderosos daquela época).
Entonces Faraón quitó su anillo de su mano, y púsolo en la mano de José, é hízole vestir de ropas de lino finísimo, y puso un collar de oro en su cuello;

Também o fez subir em sua segunda carruagem e mandou que os homens fossem na frente, gritando a todos: “Prestem homenagem a José! Inclinem-se diante dele”. Dessa forma, o faraó nomeou José como a maior autoridade sobre toda a terra do Egito.

O faraó chamou José de Zafenate-Paneia e lhe deu por mulher Azenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om. Depois José foi inspecionar a terra do Egito.

Quando a fome se estendeu por toda a terra, José mandou abrir os armazéns e começou a vender cereais aos egípcios.
Y el hambre estaba por toda la extensión del país. Entonces abrió José todo granero donde había, y vendía á los Egipcios; porque había crecido el hambre en la tierra de Egipto.
And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

Além disso, vinha gente de muitos lugares ao Egito para comprar de José, porque a fome atingiu uma enorme região.
Y toda la tierra venía á Egipto para comprar de José, porque por toda la tierra había crecido el hambre.
And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
