1Ora, a serpente era mais astuta que qualquer animal do campo que o SENHOR Deus tinha feito. Ela disse à mulher: “Deus realmente disse: ‘Vocês não comerão de nenhuma árvore do jardim’?”
2A mulher disse à serpente: “Nós podemos comer do fruto das árvores do jardim,
3mas não do fruto da árvore que está no meio do jardim. Deus disse: ‘Vocês não comerão dele, nem tocarão nele, para que não morram’.”
4A serpente disse à mulher: “Certamente vocês não morrerão,
5porque Deus sabe que no dia em que comerem dele, os seus olhos se abrirão, e vocês serão como Deus, conhecendo o bem e o mal.”
6Quando a mulher viu que a árvore era boa para se comer, e que era agradável aos olhos, e que a árvore era desejável para dar entendimento, ela tomou do seu fruto e comeu. Então ela deu um pouco ao seu marido que estava com ela, e ele também comeu.
7Os olhos de ambos se abriram, e eles perceberam que estavam nus. Eles costuraram folhas de figueira e fizeram coberturas para si mesmos.
8Eles ouviram a voz do SENHOR Deus, que andava no jardim à brisa do dia, e o homem e sua mulher se esconderam da presença do SENHOR Deus entre as árvores do jardim.
9O SENHOR Deus chamou o homem e lhe disse: “Onde você está?”
10O homem disse: “Eu ouvi a tua voz no jardim e tive medo, porque eu estava nu; por isso me escondi.”
11Deus disse: “Quem lhe disse que você estava nu? Você comeu da árvore da qual eu lhe ordenei que não comesse?”
12O homem disse: “A mulher que me deste para estar comigo, ela me deu do fruto da árvore, e eu comi.”
13O SENHOR Deus disse à mulher: “O que é isso que você fez?” A mulher disse: “A serpente me enganou, e eu comi.”
14O SENHOR Deus disse à serpente: “Porque você fez isso, maldita é você entre todos os rebanhos, e entre todos os animais do campo. Sobre o seu ventre você rastejará e pó você comerá todos os dias da sua vida.
15Porei inimizade entre você e a mulher, e entre a sua descendência e a descendência dela. Ele ferirá a sua cabeça, e você ferirá o calcanhar dele.”
16À mulher ele disse: “Multiplicarei grandemente a sua dor no parto. Com dor você dará à luz filhos. O seu desejo será para o seu marido, e ele dominará sobre você.”
17A Adão ele disse: “Porque você deu ouvidos à voz da sua mulher, e comeu da árvore, a respeito da qual eu lhe ordenei, dizendo: ‘Você não comerá dela’, maldita é a terra por sua causa. Com muito trabalho você comerá dela todos os dias da sua vida.
18Ela lhe produzirá espinhos e abrolhos; e você comerá a erva do campo.
19Com o suor do seu rosto você comerá o seu pão, até que volte à terra, pois dela você foi tirado. Porque você é pó, e ao pó você retornará.”
20O homem chamou sua mulher de Eva, porque ela seria a mãe de todos os viventes.
21O SENHOR Deus fez vestimentas de peles de animais para Adão e para sua mulher, e os vestiu.
22O SENHOR Deus disse: “Eis que o homem se tornou como um de nós, conhecendo o bem e o mal. Agora, para que ele não estenda a sua mão, e tome também da árvore da vida, e coma, e viva para sempre—”
23Portanto, o SENHOR Deus o mandou embora do jardim do Éden, para cultivar a terra da qual ele havia sido tirado.
24Assim ele expulsou o homem; e colocou querubins ao oriente do jardim do Éden, e uma espada flamejante que se movia em todas as direções, para guardar o caminho para a árvore da vida.

1EMPERO la serpiente era astuta, más que todos los animales del campo que Jehová Dios había hecho; la cual dijo á la mujer: ¿Conque Dios os ha dicho: No comáis de todo árbol del huerto?
2Y la mujer respondió á la serpiente: Del fruto de los árboles del huerto comemos;
3Mas del fruto del árbol que está en medio del huerto dijo Dios: No comeréis de él, ni le tocaréis, porque no muráis.
4Entonces la serpiente dijo á la mujer: No moriréis;
5Mas sabe Dios que el día que comiereis de él, serán abiertos vuestros ojos, y seréis como dioses sabiendo el bien y el mal.
6Y vió la mujer que el árbol era bueno para comer, y que era agradable á los ojos, y árbol codiciable para alcanzar la sabiduría; y tomó de su fruto, y comió; y dió también á su marido, el cual comió así como ella.
7Y fueron abiertos los ojos de entrambos, y conocieron que estaban desnudos: entonces cosieron hojas de higuera, y se hicieron delantales.
8Y oyeron la voz de Jehová Dios que se paseaba en el huerto al aire del día: y escondióse el hombre y su mujer de la presencia de Jehová Dios entre los árboles del huerto.
9Y llamó Jehová Dios al hombre, y le dijo: ¿Dónde estás tú?
10Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo, porque estaba desnudo; y escondíme.
11Y díjole: ¿Quién te enseñó que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol de que yo te mandé no comieses?
12Y el hombre respondió: La mujer que me diste por compañera me dió del árbol, y yo comí.
13Entonces Jehová Dios dijo á la mujer: ¿Qué es lo que has hecho? Y dijo la mujer: La serpiente me engañó, y comí.
14Y Jehová Dios dijo á la serpiente: Por cuanto esto hiciste, maldita serás entre todas las bestias y entre todos los animales del campo; sobre tu pecho andarás, y polvo comerás todos los días de tu vida:
15Y enemistad pondré entre ti y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y la simiente suya; ésta te herirá en la cabeza, y tú le herirás en el calcañar.
16A la mujer dijo: Multiplicaré en gran manera tus dolores y tus preñeces; con dolor parirás los hijos; y á tu marido será tu deseo, y él se enseñoreará de ti.
17Y al hombre dijo: Por cuanto obedeciste á la voz de tu mujer, y comiste del árbol de que te mandé diciendo, No comerás de él; maldita será la tierra por amor de ti; con dolor comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida;
18Espinos y cardos te producirá, y comerás hierba del campo;
19En el sudor de tu rostro comerás el pan hasta que vuelvas á la tierra; porque de ella fuiste tomado: pues polvo eres, y al polvo serás tornado.
20Y llamó el hombre el nombre de su mujer, Eva; por cuanto ella era madre de todos los vivientes.
21Y Jehová Dios hizo al hombre y á su mujer túnicas de pieles, y vistiólos.
22Y dijo Jehová Dios: He aquí el hombre es como uno de Nos sabiendo el bien y el mal: ahora, pues, porque no alargue su mano, y tome también del árbol de la vida, y coma, y viva para siempre:
23Y sacólo Jehová del huerto de Edén, para que labrase la tierra de que fué tomado.
24Echó, pues, fuera al hombre, y puso al oriente del huerto de Edén querubines, y una espada encendida que se revolvía á todos lados, para guardar el camino del árbol de la vida.

1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
World English Bible
1Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?”
2The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees of the garden,
3but not the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden. God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it. You shall not touch it, lest you die.’”
4The serpent said to the woman, “You won’t really die,
5for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took some of its fruit, and ate. Then she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate it, too.
7Their eyes were opened, and they both knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves.
8They heard the LORD God’s voice walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9The LORD God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”
10The man said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; so I hid myself.”
11God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
12The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
13The LORD God said to the woman, “What have you done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
14The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. You shall go on your belly and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
15I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.”
16To the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. You will bear children in pain. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
17To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and have eaten from the tree, about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ the ground is cursed for your sake. You will eat from it with much labor all the days of your life.
18It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.
19You will eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground, for you were taken out of it. For you are dust, and you shall return to dust.”
20The man called his wife Eve because she would be the mother of all the living.
21The LORD God made garments of animal skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
22The LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever—”
23Therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
24So he drove out the man; and he placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
