Alors il abandonna tous ses intérêts aux mains de Joseph et il ne s'occupa plus avec lui de rien, sinon du pain qu'il mangeait. Or, Joseph était beau de taille et beau de visage.
Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José; ni con él sabía de nada más que del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia.

But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

il n'est pas plus grand que moi dans cette maison et il ne m'a rien défendu, sinon toi, parce que tu es son épouse; et comment puis je commettre un si grand méfait et offenser le Seigneur?"
No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino á ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios?

Quoiqu'elle en parlât chaque jour à Joseph, il ne cédait point à ses vœux en venant à ses côtés pour avoir commerce avec elle.

And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

Mais il arriva, à une de ces occasions, comme il était venu dans la maison pour faire sa besogne et qu'aucun des gens de la maison ne s'y trouvait,
Aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí en casa:
And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
