Y LLEVADO José á Egipto, comprólo Potiphar, eunuco de Faraón, capitán de los de la guardia, varón Egipcio, de mano de los Ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá.

Et il abandonna tout ce qu`il avait aux mains de Joseph, ne s`informant plus de rien avec lui, si ce n`est des aliments qu`il prenait. Or Joseph était beau de corps et beau de figure.

Il refusa et dit à la femme de son maître " Voici, mon maître ne s`informe avec moi de rien dans la maison et il a remis tout ce qu`il a entre mes mains.
Y él no quiso, y dijo á la mujer de su señor: He aquí que mi señor no sabe conmigo lo que hay en casa, y ha puesto en mi mano todo lo que tiene:
But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

Il n`est pas plus grand que moi dans cette maison, et il ne m`a rien interdit que toi, parce que tu es sa femme. Comment ferais-je un si grand mal et pécherais-je contre Dieu? "
No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino á ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios?
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Quoiqu`elle en parlât tous les jours à Joseph, il ne consentit pas à coucher auprès d`elle ni à être avec
Y fué que hablando ella á José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella,
And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

Un jour qu`il était entré dans la maison pour faire son service, sans qu`il y eût là aucun des gens de la maison,

Llamó á los de casa, y hablóles diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un Hebreo, para que hiciese burla de nosotros: vino él á mí para dormir conmigo, y yo dí grandes voces;
That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:

Puis elle posa près d`elle le vêtement de Joseph jusqu`à ce que son maître rentrât à la maison.

Quand le maître de Joseph eut entendu les paroles de sa femme, qui lui parlait en ces termes " Voilà ce que m`a fait ton serviteur " sa colère s`enflamma.
Y sucedió que como oyó su señor las palabras que su mujer le hablara, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo; encendióse su furor.
And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

Il prit Joseph et le mit dans la prison ; c`était le lieu où étaient détenus les prisonniers du roi. Et il fut là en prison.
