Nello stesso tempo Giuda separato da' suoi fratelli andò a posare in casa di un uomo di Odollam, per nome Hiram.

Y ACONTECIÓ en aquel tiempo, que Judá descendió de con sus hermanos, y fuése á un varón Adullamita, que se llamaba Hira.

And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.

At that time, Judah went down from his brothers, and visited a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.

E ivi vide la figlia di un Chananeo, chiamato Sue: e, presala per moglie, convivea con lei.

Y vió allí Judá la hija de un hombre Cananeo, el cual se llamaba Súa; y tomóla, y entró á ella:

And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her.

There, Judah saw the daughter of a certain Canaanite man named Shua. He took her, and went in to her.

Ed ella concepì e partorì un figliuolo, e gli pose nome Her.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo; y llamó su nombre Er.

And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er.

She conceived, and bore a son; and he named him Er.

La quale concepito un'altra volta, pose al figliuolo, che le nacque, il nome di Onan.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Onán.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan.

She conceived again, and bore a son; and she named him Onan.

Partorì anche il terzo, cui ella chiamò Sela: e nato questo, non ebbe più figliuoli.

Y volvió á concebir, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Sela. Y estaba en Chezib cuando lo parió.

And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah: and he was at Chezib, when she bare him.

She yet again bore a son, and named him Shelah. He was at Chezib when she bore him.

E Giuda diede in moglie ad Her, suo primogenito, una chiamata Thamar.

Y Judá tomó mujer para su primogénito Er, la cual se llamaba Thamar.

And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.

Judah took a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar.

Ma Her, primogenito di Giuda, fu uomo perverso nel cospetto del Signore: il quale lo fece morire.

Y Er, el primogénito de Judá, fué malo á los ojos de Jehová, y quitóle Jehová la vida.

And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.

Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the LORD’s sight. So the LORD killed him.

Disse pertanto Giuda ad Onan suo figlio: Prendi la moglie di tuo fratello, e convivi con lei affin di dare figliuoli al tuo fratello.

Entonces Judá dijo á Onán: Entra á la mujer de tu hermano, y despósate con ella, y suscita simiente á tu hermano.

And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

Judah said to Onan, “Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.”

Sapendo quegli, che i figliuoli, che nascessero, non sarebbero suoi, accostandosi alla moglie del fratello, impediva il concepimento, affinché non nascessero figliuoli col nome del fratello.

Y sabiendo Onán que la simiente no había de ser suya, sucedía que cuando entraba á la mujer de su hermano vertía en tierra, por no dar simiente á su hermano.

And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

Onan knew that the offspring wouldn’t be his; and when he went in to his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground, lest he should give offspring to his brother.

Quindi il Signore lo fece morire, perché faceva cosa detestabile.

Y desagradó en ojos de Jehová lo que hacía, y también quitó á él la vida.

And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

The thing which he did was evil in the LORD’s sight, and he killed him also.

Per la qual cosa disse Giuda a Thamar sua nuora: Rimanti vedova nella casa del padre tuo, fino a tanto che Sela mio figlio cresca: or ei temeva, che non morisse anche questo, come i suoi fratelli. Ella se n'andò, e abitò in casa del padre suo.

Y Judá dijo á Thamar su nuera: Estáte viuda en casa de tu padre, hasta que crezca Sela mi hijo; porque dijo: Que quizá no muera él también como sus hermanos. Y fuése Thamar, y estúvose en casa de su padre.

Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.

Then Judah said to Tamar, his daughter-in-law, “Remain a widow in your father’s house, until Shelah, my son, is grown up;” for he said, “Lest he also die, like his brothers.” Tamar went and lived in her father’s house.

Passati poi molti giorni morì la figliuola di Sue, consorte di Giuda: il quale dopo gli uffici funebri, passato il duolo, se n'andò a trovare quelli che tosavano le sue pecore in Thamnas, egli, e Hiras di Odollam, pastore di pecore.

Y pasaron muchos días, y murió la hija de Súa, mujer de Judá; y Judá se consoló, y subía á los trasquiladores de sus ovejas á Timnath, él y su amigo Hira el Adullamita.

And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.

After many days, Shua’s daughter, the wife of Judah, died. Judah was comforted, and went up to his sheep shearers to Timnah, he and his friend Hirah, the Adullamite.

E fu riferito a Thamar, come suo suocero andava a Thamnas a tosare le pecore.

Y fué dado aviso á Thamar, diciendo: He aquí tu suegro sube á Timnath á trasquilar sus ovejas.

And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.

Tamar was told, “Behold, your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep.”

Ed ella, posati i vestimenti da vedova, prese un velo: e travestita si pose a sedere in un bivio della strada, che mena a Thamnas; perocché Sela era cresciuto, e non le era stato dato in isposo.

Entonces quitó ella de sobre sí los vestidos de su viudez, y cubrióse con un velo, y arrebozóse, y se puso á la puerta de las aguas que están junto al camino de Timnath; porque veía que había crecido Sela, y ella no era dada á él por mujer.

And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.

She took off the garments of her widowhood, and covered herself with her veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in the gate of Enaim, which is on the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelah was grown up, and she wasn’t given to him as a wife.

E avendola veduta Giuda, sospicò, ch'ella fosse donna di mala vita: conciossiaché ella avea coperta la sua faccia per non essere riconosciuta.

Y vióla Judá, y túvola por ramera, porque había ella cubierto su rostro.

When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.

When Judah saw her, he thought that she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face.

E appressatosi a lei la richiese di mal fare: perocché non sapeva, ch'ella fosse sua nuora. E avendo ella risposto: Che mi darai per fare il tuo volere?

Y apartóse del camino hacia ella, y díjole: Ea, pues, ahora entraré á ti; porque no sabía que era su nuera; y ella dijo: ¿Qué me has de dar, si entrares á mí?

And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?

He turned to her by the way, and said, “Please come, let me come in to you,” for he didn’t know that she was his daughter-in-law. She said, “What will you give me, that you may come in to me?”

Disse egli: Ti manderò un capretto del mio gregge. E replicando quella: Acconsentirò a tutto, purché tu mi dia un pegno, perfino a tanto che tu mandi quel che prometti.

El respondió: Yo te enviaré del ganado un cabrito de las cabras. Y ella dijo: Hasme de dar prenda hasta que lo envíes.

And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?

He said, “I will send you a young goat from the flock.” She said, “Will you give me a pledge, until you send it?”

Giuda disse: Che vuoi tu, che ti sia dato per pegno? Rispose: L'anello, e il braccialetto, e il bastone, che hai in mano. Concepì adunque la donna ad un sol atto:

Entonces él dijo: ¿Qué prenda te daré? Ella respondió: Tu anillo, y tu manto, y tu bordón que tienes en tu mano. Y él se los dió, y entró á ella, la cual concibió de él.

And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.

He said, “What pledge will I give you?” She said, “Your signet and your cord, and your staff that is in your hand.” He gave them to her, and came in to her, and she conceived by him.

E si alzò, e se ne andò: e deposto l'abito, che avea preso, si vesti di vestimenti da vedova.

Y levantóse, y fuése: y quitóse el velo de sobre sí, y vistióse las ropas de su viudez.

And she arose, and went away, and laid by her vail from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.

She arose, and went away, and put off her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.

Ma Giuda mandò per mezzo del suo pastore Odollamite il capretto, affine di riavere il pegno dato alla donna: ma questi non avendola trovata,

Y Judá envió el cabrito de las cabras por mano de su amigo el Adullamita, para que tomase la prenda de mano de la mujer; mas no la halló.

And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not.

Judah sent the young goat by the hand of his friend, the Adullamite, to receive the pledge from the woman’s hand, but he didn’t find her.

Domandò alla gente di quel luogo: Dov'è quella donna, che stava a sedere nel bivio? E tutti rispondendogli: Non è stata in questo luogo donna di mala vita:

Y preguntó á los hombres de aquel lugar, diciendo: ¿Dónde está la ramera de las aguas junto al camino? Y ellos le dijeron: No ha estado aquí ramera.

Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.

Then he asked the men of her place, saying, “Where is the prostitute, that was at Enaim by the road?” They said, “There has been no prostitute here.”

Se ne tornò a Giuda, e gli disse: Non l'ha trovata: e di più tutta la gente di quel luogo mi hanno detto, non essere ivi stata giammai donna di mala vita.

Entonces él se volvió á Judá, y dijo: No la he hallado; y también los hombres del lugar dijeron: Aquí no ha estado ramera.

And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place.

He returned to Judah, and said, “I haven’t found her; and also the men of the place said, ‘There has been no prostitute here.’”

Disse Giuda: Se lo tenga per sé: almeno non può ella rinfacciarmi bugia: io ho mandato il capretto promessole, e tu non l'hai ritrovata.

Y Judá dijo: Tómeselo para sí, porque no seamos menospreciados: he aquí yo he enviado este cabrito, y tú no la hallaste.

And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.

Judah said, “Let her keep it, lest we be shamed. Behold, I sent this young goat, and you haven’t found her.”

Ma di lì a tre mesi, ecco che venne chi disse a Giuda: Thamar tua nuora ha peccato, e si vede, ch'ella è gravida. Disse Giuda: Conducetela fuori ad esser bruciata.

Y acaeció que al cabo de unos tres meses fué dado aviso á Judá, diciendo: Thamar tu nuera ha fornicado, y aun cierto está preñada de las fornicaciones. Y Judá dijo: Sacadla, y sea quemada.

And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

About three months later, Judah was told, “Tamar, your daughter-in-law, has played the prostitute. Moreover, behold, she is with child by prostitution.” Judah said, “Bring her out, and let her be burned.”

E mentre ella era condotta al supplizio, mandò a dire al suo suocero: Io sono gravida di colui, di cui sono queste cose: guarda di chi sia l'anello, e il braccialetto, e il bastone.

Y ella, cuando la sacaban, envió á decir á su suegro: Del varón cuyas son estas cosas, estoy preñada: y dijo más: Mira ahora cúyas son estas cosas, el anillo, y el manto, y el bordón.

When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff.

When she was brought out, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, “I am with child by the man who owns these.” She also said, “Please discern whose these are—the signet, and the cords, and the staff.”

Ed egli, riconosciuti i pegni, disse: Ella è più giusta di me: perocché io non l'ho data in moglie a Sela mio figlio. Ma però egli non ebbe più che fare con lei.

Entonces Judá los reconoció, y dijo: Más justa es que yo, por cuanto no la he dado á Sela mi hijo. Y nunca más la conoció.

And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.

Judah acknowledged them, and said, “She is more righteous than I, because I didn’t give her to Shelah, my son.” He knew her again no more.

Ma appressandosi il parto, si conobbe, che avea in seno due gemelli: e nell'uscire de' bambini uno mise fuori la mano, alla quale la levatrice legò un filo di scarlatto, dicendo:

Y aconteció que al tiempo del parir, he aquí había dos en su vientre.

And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.

In the time of her travail, behold, twins were in her womb.

Questi uscirà il primo.

Y sucedió, cuando paría, que sacó la mano el uno, y la partera tomó y ató á su mano un hilo de grana, diciendo: Este salió primero.

And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.

When she travailed, one put out a hand, and the midwife took and tied a scarlet thread on his hand, saying, “This came out first.”

Ma avendo egli ritirata la mano, uscì l'altro, e la donna disse: Per qual motivo si è rotta per causa tua la muraglia? e per tal motivo gli pose nome Phares.

Empero fué que tornando él á meter la mano, he aquí su hermano salió; y ella dijo: ¿Por qué has hecho sobre ti rotura? Y llamó su nombre Phares.

And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.

As he drew back his hand, behold, his brother came out, and she said, “Why have you made a breach for yourself?” Therefore his name was called Perez.

Uscì dipoi il suo fratello, che aveva alla mano il filo di scarlatto: e lo nominò Zara. Giuseppe essendo in prospero stato nella casa del padrone Putifare, ed essendo a lui caro, e governando questi la famiglia per aver disprezzata la padrona, che sovente lo tentava, è accusato dinanzi al padrone, e messo in carcere, dove si acquista il favor del custode, il quale dà a lui la cura dei prigionieri.

Y después salió su hermano, el que tenía en su mano el hilo de grana, y llamó su nombre Zara.

And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah.

Afterward his brother came out, who had the scarlet thread on his hand, and his name was called Zerah.
