Questa è la genealogia di Esaù, o sia di Edom.

Y ESTAS son las generaciones de Esaú, el cual es Edom.

Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.

Esaù prese mogli delle figlie di Chanaan: Ada, figlia di Elon Hetheo, e Oolibama, figliuola di Ana, figlio di Sebeon Heveo:

Esaú tomó sus mujeres de las hijas de Canaán: á Ada, hija de Elón Hetheo, y á Aholibama, hija de Ana, hija de Zibeón el Heveo;

Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;

Poscia Esaù prese le sue mogli, e i figliuoli, e le figliuole, e tutta la gente di sua casa, e tutti i suoi beni, e i bestiami, e tutto quello che avea nella terra di Chanaan: e andò in un altro paese, e si ritirò dal suo fratello Giacobbe.

And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, with his livestock, all his animals, and all his possessions, which he had gathered in the land of Canaan, and went into a land away from his brother Jacob.

Perocché erano molto ricchi, e non poteano stare in un medesimo luogo: e per la moltitudine de' greggi non potea sostentarli la terra, dov'erano pellegrini.

Porque la hacienda de ellos era grande, y no podían habitar juntos, ni la tierra de su peregrinación los podía sostener á causa de sus ganados.

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

For their substance was too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their travels couldn’t bear them because of their livestock.

E abitò Esaù, o sia Edom, sul monte Seir.

Y Esaú habitó en el monte de Seir: Esaú es Edom.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

Thamna poi era concubina di Eliphaz, figliuolo di Esaù: ed ella gli partorì Amalech. Questi sono i discendenti di Ada, moglie di Esaù.

And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau’s son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau’s wife.

Questi sono i figliuoli di Esaù, o sia di Edom: e questi i loro capitani.

Estos, pues, son los hijos de Esaú, y sus duques: él es Edom.

Figliuoli di Lotan furono Hori, ed Heman: e sorella di Lotan era Tamna.

Los hijos de Lotán fueron Hori y Hemán; y Timna fué hermana de Lotán.

And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.

And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

E questi i figliuoli di Sebeon: Aia, e Ana. Questi è quell'Ana, che trovò le acque calde nel deserto, mentre pasceva gli asini di Sebeon suo padre.

Y los hijos de Zibeón fueron Aja, y Ana. Este Ana es el que descubrió los mulos en el desierto, cuando apacentaba los asnos de Zibeón su padre.

And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.

I regi poi, che regnaron nella terra di Edom, prima che gl'Israeliti avessero re, furon questi:

And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.

And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

Giuseppe per aver accusati di grave colpa i fratelli presso del padre, e per avere raccontati i suoi sogni si tira adosso l'odio dei fratelli: vogliono ammazzarlo; ma per consiglio di Ruben lo gettano prima in una cisterna: indi senza saputa di Ruben lo vendono agl' Ismaeliti. Il padre lo piange, credendolo ucciso da una fiera: Giuseppe frattanto in Egitto è venduto a Putifare.

El duque Magdiel, y el duque Hiram. Estos fueron los duques de Edom por sus habitaciones en la tierra de su posesión. Edom es el mismo Esaú, padre de los Idumeos.
