Génesis 35

Dios le dijo a Jacob: “Levántate, sube a Betel y quédate a vivir allí. Construye allí un altar al Dios que se te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú”.

Y DIJO Dios á Jacob: Levántate, sube á Beth-el, y estáte allí; y haz allí un altar al Dios que te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.

And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”

Entonces Jacob les dijo a su familia y a todos los que lo acompañaban: “Desháganse de los dioses extranjeros que tienen entre ustedes, purifíquense y cámbiense de ropa.

Entonces Jacob dijo á su familia y á todos los que con él estaban: Quitad los dioses ajenos que hay entre vosotros, y limpiaos, y mudad vuestros vestidos.

Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

Preparémonos para subir a Betel. Allí construiré un altar al Dios que me escuchó cuando estadi angustiado, y que me ha acompañado en todo mi camino”.

Y levantémonos, y subamos á Beth-el; y haré allí altar al Dios que me respondió en el día de mi angustia, y ha sido conmigo en el camino que he andado.

And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

Let’s arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me on the way which I went.”

Así que ellos le entregaron a Jacob todos los dioses extranjeros que tenían, y también los aretes que llevaban en las orejas; y Jacob los enterró debajo del roble que está cerca de Siquén.

Así dieron á Jacob todos los dioses ajenos que había en poder de ellos, y los zarzillos que estaban en sus orejas; y Jacob los escondió debajo de una encina, que estaba junto á Sichêm.

And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

They gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

Cuando reanudaron su viaje, un pánico enviado por Dios se apoderó de las ciudades vecinas, de modo que nadie persiguió a los hijos de Jacob.

Y partiéronse, y el terror de Dios fué sobre las ciudades que había en sus alrededores, y no siguieron tras los hijos de Jacob.

And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

They traveled, and a terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they didn’t pursue the sons of Jacob.

Jacob y todos los que lo acompañaban llegaron a Luz (es decir, Betel), en la tierra de Canaán.

Y llegó Jacob á Luz, que está en tierra de Canaán, (esta es Beth-el) él y todo el pueblo que con él estaba;

So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him.

Allí construyó un altar, y a ese lugar lo llamó El Betel, porque allí Dios se le había revelado cuando huía de su hermano.

Y edificó allí un altar, y llamó al lugar El-Beth-el, porque allí le había aparecido Dios, cuando huía de su hermano.

And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

Por esos días murió Débora, la nodriza de Rebeca, y la enterraron al pie de Betel, debajo del roble. Por eso aquel lugar fue llamado Alón Bacut.

Entonces murió Débora, ama de Rebeca, y fué sepultada á las raíces de Beth-el, debajo de una encina: y llamóse su nombre Allon-Bacuth.

But Deborah Rebekah’s nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.

Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; and its name was called Allon Bacuth.

Dios se le apareció de nuevo a Jacob cuando regresaba de Padán Aram, y lo bendijo.

Y aparecióse otra vez Dios á Jacob, cuando se había vuelto de Padan-aram, y bendíjole.

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.

God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan Aram, and blessed him.

Dios le dijo: “Tu nombre es Jacob, pero ya no te llamarás así. De ahora en adelante tu nombre será Israel”. Y así le puso por nombre Israel.

Y díjole Dios: Tu nombre es Jacob; no se llamará más tu nombre Jacob, sino Israel será tu nombre: y llamó su nombre Israel.

And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

God said to him, “Your name is Jacob. Your name shall not be Jacob any more, but your name will be Israel.” He named him Israel.

Además, Dios le dijo: “Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso. Sé fecundo y multiplícate. De ti nacerán una nación y una comunidad de naciones, y de tu descendencia surgirán reyes.

Y díjole Dios: Yo soy el Dios Omnipotente: crece y multiplícate; una nación y conjunto de naciones procederá de ti, y reyes saldrán de tus lomos:

And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

God said to him, “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be from you, and kings will come out of your body.

La tierra que les di a Abraham y a Isaac, te la doy a ti, y también se la daré a tus descendientes”.

Y la tierra que yo he dado á Abraham y á Isaac, la daré á ti: y á tu simiente después de ti daré la tierra.

And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

The land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and to your offspring after you I will give the land.”

Y Dios se alejó del lugar donde había hablado con él.

Y fuése de él Dios, del lugar donde con él había hablado.

And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

God went up from him in the place where he spoke with him.

Entonces Jacob levantó un monumento de piedra en el lugar donde Dios le había hablado, y sobre él derramó una ofrenda de vino y aceite.

Y Jacob erigió un título en el lugar donde había hablado con él, un título de piedra, y derramó sobre él libación, y echó sobre él aceite.

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it, and poured oil on it.

Jacob llamó Betel a ese lugar donde Dios le había hablado.

Y llamó Jacob el nombre de aquel lugar donde Dios había hablado con él, Beth-el.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el.

Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him “Bethel”.

Luego partieron de Betel. Cuando todavía faltaba un tramo para llegar a Efrata, a Raquel le llegaron los dolores de parto, y tuvo un parto muy difícil.

Y partieron de Beth-el, y había aún como media legua de tierra para llegar á Ephrata, cuando parió Rachêl, y hubo trabajo en su parto.

And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.

They traveled from Bethel. There was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and Rachel travailed. She had hard labor.

Mientras sufría con los dolores, la partera le dijo: “¡No tengas miedo, que vas a tener otro hijo varón!”

Y aconteció, que como había trabajo en su parir, díjole la partera: No temas, que también tendrás este hijo.

And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her, “Don’t be afraid, for now you will have another son.”

Y al dar su último suspiro (porque estaba a punto de morir), Raquel lo llamó Benoní, pero su padre le puso por nombre Benjamín.

Y acaeció que al salírsele el alma, (pues murió) llamó su nombre Benoni; mas su padre lo llamó Benjamín.

And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.

As her soul was departing (for she died), she named him Benoni, but his father named him Benjamin.

Así murió Raquel, y la enterraron en el camino que va hacia Efrata (es decir, Belén).

Así murió Rachêl, y fué sepultada en el camino de Ephrata, la cual es Beth-lehem.

And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.

Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath (also called Bethlehem).

Sobre su tumba Jacob levantó un monumento, el cual señala la tumba de Raquel hasta el día de hoy.

Y puso Jacob un título sobre su sepultura: este es el título de la sepultura de Rachêl hasta hoy.

And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Jacob set up a pillar on her grave. The same is the Pillar of Rachel’s grave to this day.

Israel siguió su viaje y armó su campamento más allá de Migdal Eder.

Y partió Israel, y tendió su tienda de la otra parte de Migdaleder.

And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

Israel traveled, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Eder.

Mientras Israel vivía en esa región, Rubén fue y se acostó con Bilhá, la concubina de su padre. Y cuando Israel se enteró de esto, se enojó muchísimo. Los hijos de Jacob fueron doce.

Y acaeció, morando Israel en aquella tierra, que fué Rubén y durmió con Bilha la concubina de su padre; lo cual llegó á entender Israel. Ahora bien, los hijos de Israel fueron doce:

And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

While Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard of it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve.

Los hijos de Lea fueron: Rubén (el hijo mayor de Jacob), Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar y Zabulón.

Los hijos de Lea: Rubén el primogénito de Jacob, y Simeón, y Leví, y Judá, é Issachâr, y Zabulón.

The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

The sons of Leah: Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

Los hijos de Raquel fueron: José y Benjamín.

Los hijos de Rachêl: José, y Benjamín.

The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.

Los hijos de Bilhá, la sirvienta de Raquel, fueron: Dan y Neftalí.

Y los hijos de Bilha, sierva de Rachêl: Dan, y Nephtalí.

And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

The sons of Bilhah (Rachel’s servant): Dan and Naphtali.

Los hijos de Zilpá, la sirvienta de Lea, fueron: Gad y Aser. Éstos fueron los hijos de Jacob que nacieron en Padán Aram.

Y los hijos de Zilpa, sierva de Lea: Gad, y Aser. Estos fueron los hijos de Jacob, que le nacieron en Padan-aram.

And the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.

The sons of Zilpah (Leah’s servant): Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

Jacob llegó a donde estaba su padre Isaac en Mamre, cerca de Quiriat Arba (es decir, Hebrón), donde Abraham e Isaac habían vivido como extranjeros.

Y vino Jacob á Isaac su padre á Mamre, á la ciudad de Arba, que es Hebrón, donde habitaron Abraham é Isaac.

And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

Jacob came to Isaac his father, to Mamre, to Kiriath Arba (which is Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac lived as foreigners.

Isaac vivió ciento ochenta años.

Y fueron los días de Isaac ciento ochenta años.

And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

The days of Isaac were one hundred eighty years.

Exhaló su último suspiro y murió a una edad muy avanzada, anciano y satisfecho de la vida, y fue a reunirse con sus antepasados. Sus hijos Esaú y Jacob lo sepultaron.

Y exhaló Isaac el espíritu, y murió, y fué recogido á sus pueblos, viejo y harto de días; y sepultáronlo Esaú y Jacob sus hijos.

And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
