Und Dinah, die Tochter Leahs, die sie dem Jakob gebar, ging aus, um die Töchter des Landes zu sehen.

And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

Und Schechem, der Sohn Chamors, des Chiviters, des Fürsten des Landes, sah sie und nahm sie und lag bei ihr und schwächte sie.

Y vióla Sichêm, hijo de Hamor Heveo, príncipe de aquella tierra, y tomóla, y echóse con ella, y la deshonró.

And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.

Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her. He took her, lay with her, and humbled her.

Und seine Seele hing an Dinah, der Tochter Jakobs, und er liebte das Mädchen und redete zu dem Herzen des Mädchens.

Mas su alma se apegó á Dina la hija de Lea, y enamoróse de la moza, y habló al corazón de la joven.

And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spake kindly unto the damsel.

His soul joined to Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young lady, and spoke kindly to the young lady.

Und Schechem sprach zu Chamor, seinem Vater, und sagte: Nimm mir dieses Mädchen zum Weibe.

Y habló Sichêm á Hamor su padre, diciendo: Tómame por mujer esta moza.

And Shechem spake unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.

Shechem spoke to his father, Hamor, saying, “Get me this young lady as a wife.”

Und Jakob hörte, daß er Dinah, seine Tochter, geschändet hatte; seine Söhne aber waren bei seiner Viehherde auf dem Felde, und Jakob schwieg stille, bis sie kamen.

Y oyó Jacob que había Sichêm amancillado á Dina su hija: y estando sus hijos con su ganado en el campo, calló Jacob hasta que ellos viniesen.

And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.

Now Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah, his daughter; and his sons were with his livestock in the field. Jacob held his peace until they came.

Chamor aber, Schechems Vater, ging heraus zu Jakob, um mit ihm zu reden.

Y dirigióse Hamor padre de Sichêm á Jacob, para hablar con él.

And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.

Und die Söhne Jakobs kamen vom Felde, als sie es hörten, und es schmerzte die Männer und sie entbrannten sehr, daß er eine Torheit in Israel getan und bei der Tochter Jakobs gelegen hatte, und solches sollte nicht getan werden.

Y los hijos de Jacob vinieron del campo cuando lo supieron; y se entristecieron los varones, y se ensañaron mucho, porque hizo vileza en Israel echándose con la hija de Jacob, lo que no se debía haber hecho.

And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter; which thing ought not to be done.

The sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it. The men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had done folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter, a thing that ought not to be done.

Und Chamor redete mit ihnen und sprach: Die Seele meines Sohnes Schechem hat Gefallen an eurer Tochter, gebet sie ihm doch zum Weibe.

Y Hamor habló con ellos, diciendo: El alma de mi hijo Sichêm se ha apegado á vuestra hija; ruégoos que se la deis por mujer.

And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.

Hamor talked with them, saying, “The soul of my son, Shechem, longs for your daughter. Please give her to him as a wife.

Und verschwägert euch mit uns, gebt uns eure Töchter und nehmet euch unsre Töchter.

Y emparentad con nosotros; dadnos vuestras hijas, y tomad vosotros las nuestras.

And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.

Make marriages with us. Give your daughters to us, and take our daughters for yourselves.

Und wohnet bei uns; und das Land soll vor eurem Angesichte sein, wohnet und handelt darin und habet Eigentum in demselben.

Y habitad con nosotros; porque la tierra estará delante de vosotros; morad y negociad en ella, y tomad en ella posesión.

And ye shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.

You shall dwell with us, and the land will be before you. Live and trade in it, and get possessions in it.”

Und Schechem sprach zu ihrem Vater und zu ihren Brüdern: Möchte ich Gnade finden in euren Augen und was ihr zu mir saget, will ich geben.

Sichêm también dijo á su padre y á sus hermanos: Halle yo gracia en vuestros ojos, y daré lo que me dijereis.

And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.

Shechem said to her father and to her brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you will tell me I will give.

Mehret mir sehr die Morgengabe und Gabe, und ich will geben, was ihr zu mir saget, nur gebet mir das Mädchen zum Weibe.

Aumentad á cargo mío mucho dote y dones, que yo daré cuanto me dijereis, y dadme la moza por mujer.

Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.

Ask me a great amount for a dowry, and I will give whatever you ask of me, but give me the young lady as a wife.”

Und die Söhne Jakobs antworteten dem Schechem und Chamor, seinem Vater, trüglich, und redeten so, weil er Dinah, ihre Schwester, geschändet hatte;

Y respondieron los hijos de Jacob á Sichêm y á Hamor su padre con engaño; y parlaron, por cuanto había amancillado á Dina su hermana.

And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:

The sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father with deceit when they spoke, because he had defiled Dinah their sister,

Und sagten zu ihnen: Wir können das Wort nicht tun, daß wir unsre Schwester einem Manne geben, der Vorhaut hat; denn es wäre eine Schmach für uns.

Y dijéronles: No podemos hacer esto de dar nuestra hermana á hombre que tiene prepucio; porque entre nosotros es abominación.

And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:

and said to them, “We can’t do this thing, to give our sister to one who is uncircumcised; for that is a reproach to us.

Wir können nur einwilligen, wenn ihr werdet wie wir, daß ihr alles Männliche bei euch beschneidet.

Mas con esta condición os haremos placer: si habéis de ser como nosotros, que se circuncide entre vosotros todo varón;

But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;

Only on this condition will we consent to you. If you will be as we are, that every male of you be circumcised,

Und dann geben wir euch unsere Töchter und nehmen uns eure Töchter, und werden dann bei euch wohnen und zu einem Volke werden.

Entonces os daremos nuestras hijas, y tomaremos nosotros las vuestras; y habitaremos con vosotros, y seremos un pueblo.

Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

then will we give our daughters to you; and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.

Wenn ihr aber nicht auf uns höret, euch zu beschneiden, dann nehmen wir unsre Tochter und gehen.

Mas si no nos prestareis oído para circuncidaros, tomaremos nuestra hija, y nos iremos.

But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.

But if you will not listen to us and be circumcised, then we will take our sister, and we will be gone.”

Und ihre Worte waren gut in den Augen Chamors und in den Augen Schechems, des Sohnes Chamors.

Y parecieron bien sus palabras á Hamor y á Sichêm, hijo de Hamor.

And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor’s son.

Their words pleased Hamor and Shechem, Hamor’s son.

Und der Jüngling zögerte nicht nach diesem Worte zu tun; denn er hatte Lust an Jakobs Tochter, und war vor allen geehrt im Hause seines Vaters.

Y no dilató el mozo hacer aquello, porque la hija de Jacob le había agradado: y él era el más honrado de toda la casa de su padre.

And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.

The young man didn’t wait to do this thing, because he had delight in Jacob’s daughter, and he was honored above all the house of his father.

Und Chamor kam und Schechem, sein Sohn, zum Tore ihrer Stadt und redeten mit den Männern ihrer Stadt und sprachen:

Entonces Hamor y Sichêm su hijo vinieron á la puerta de su ciudad, y hablaron á los varones de su ciudad, diciendo:

And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,

Hamor and Shechem, his son, came to the gate of their city, and talked with the men of their city, saying,

Diese Männer sind friedlich unter uns und wollen im Lande wohnen und darin handeln, und siehe, das Land ist weit zu beiden Seiten vor ihnen. Lasset uns ihre Töchter uns zu Weibern nehmen und unsere Töchter ihnen geben.

Estos varones son pacíficos con nosotros, y habitarán en el país, y traficarán en él: pues he aquí la tierra es bastante ancha para ellos: nosotros tomaremos sus hijas por mujeres, y les daremos las nuestras.

These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.

“These men are peaceful with us. Therefore let them live in the land and trade in it. For behold, the land is large enough for them. Let’s take their daughters to us for wives, and let’s give them our daughters.

Aber nur so wollen die Männer einwilligen bei uns zu wohnen und ein Volk zu werden, daß wir bei uns alles Männliche beschneiden, so wie sie beschnitten sind.

Mas con esta condición nos harán estos hombres el placer de habitar con nosotros, para que seamos un pueblo: si se circuncidare en nosotros todo varón, así como ellos son circuncidados.

Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.

Only on this condition will the men consent to us to live with us, to become one people, if every male among us is circumcised, as they are circumcised.

Ihre Viehherden und ihr Angekauftes und all ihr Vieh, wird es nicht unser sein, wenn wir nur ihnen einwilligen, und sie werden bei uns wohnen?

Sus ganados, y su hacienda y todas sus bestias, serán nuestras: solamente convengamos con ellos, y habitarán con nosotros.

Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of theirs be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.

Won’t their livestock and their possessions and all their animals be ours? Only let’s give our consent to them, and they will dwell with us.”

Und sie hörten auf Chamor und auf Schechem, seinen Sohn, alle, die von dem Tor seiner Stadt ausgingen, und ließen alles Männliche beschneiden, alles, das von dem Tor seiner Stadt ausging.

Y obedecieron á Hamor y á Sichêm su hijo todos los que salían por la puerta de la ciudad, y circuncidaron á todo varón, á cuantos salían por la puerta de su ciudad.

And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.

All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Hamor, and to Shechem his son; and every male was circumcised, all who went out of the gate of his city.

Und es geschah am dritten Tage, während sie in Schmerzen waren, nahmen zwei Söhne Jakobs, Simeon und Levi, Brüder Dinahs, jeder Mann sein Schwert und kamen kecklich in die Stadt und erwürgten alles Männliche.

Y sucedió que al tercer día, cuando sentían ellos el mayor dolor, los dos hijos de Jacob, Simeón y Leví, hermanos de Dina, tomaron cada uno su espada, y vinieron contra la ciudad animosamente, y mataron á todo varón.

And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.

On the third day, when they were sore, two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brothers, each took his sword, came upon the unsuspecting city, and killed all the males.

Und den Chamor und Schechem, seinen Sohn, erwürgten sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und nahmen Dinah aus dem Hause Schechems und gingen hinaus.

Y á Hamor y á Sichêm su hijo los mataron á filo de espada: y tomaron á Dina de casa de Sichêm, y saliéronse.

And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house, and went out.

They killed Hamor and Shechem, his son, with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house, and went away.

Die Söhne Jakobs kamen über die Erschlagenen und beraubten die Stadt dafür, daß sie ihre Schwester geschändet hatten.

Y los hijos de Jacob vinieron á los muertos, y saquearon la ciudad; por cuanto habían amancillado á su hermana.

The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.

Jacob’s sons came on the dead, and plundered the city, because they had defiled their sister.

Ihr Kleinvieh und ihre Rinder und ihre Esel, und was in der Stadt war und was auf dem Felde war, nahmen sie.

Tomaron sus ovejas y vacas y sus asnos, y lo que había en la ciudad y en el campo,

They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,

They took their flocks, their herds, their donkeys, that which was in the city, that which was in the field,

Und all ihr Vermögen, und alle ihre Kindlein und ihre Weiber nahmen sie gefangen und raubten alles, was im Hause war.

Y toda su hacienda; se llevaron cautivos á todos sus niños y sus mujeres, y robaron todo lo que había en casa.

And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.

and all their wealth. They took captive all their little ones and their wives, and took as plunder everything that was in the house.

Und Jakob sprach zu Simeon und zu Levi: Ihr habt mich zerrüttet, daß ich stinke bei dem Einwohner des Landes, bei dem Kanaaniter und dem Pherisiter. Und ich habe nur wenig Leute. Und sie werden sich versammeln wider mich und mich schlagen, und ich und mein Haus werden vernichtet.

Entonces dijo Jacob á Simeón y á Leví: Habéisme turbado con hacerme abominable á los moradores de aquesta tierra, el Cananeo y el Pherezeo; y teniendo yo pocos hombres, juntarse han contra mí, y me herirán, y seré destruído yo y mi casa.

And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.

Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have troubled me, to make me odious to the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites. I am few in number. They will gather themselves together against me and strike me, and I will be destroyed, I and my house.”

Sie aber sagten: Soll man unsrer Schwester tun wie einer Buhlerin?

Y ellos respondieron: ¿Había él de tratar á nuestra hermana como á una ramera?

And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?

They said, “Should he deal with our sister as with a prostitute?”
