ALS nun Jakob seine Augen erhob, sah er Esau herankommen und vierhundert Mann mit ihm. Da verteilte er die Kinder auf Lea und Rahel und die beiden Mägde,

Y ALZANDO Jacob sus ojos miró, y he aquí venía Esaú, y los cuatrocientos hombres con él: entonces repartió él los niños entre Lea y Rachêl y las dos siervas.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

und er stellte die Mägde mit ihren Kindern voran, dahinter Lea mit ihren Kindern, Rahel aber mit Joseph zuletzt.

And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

Er selbst ging vor ihnen her und verneigte sich siebenmal zur Erde, bis er zu seinem Bruder kam.

Esau aber eilte ihm entgegen und umarmte ihn, fiel ihm um den Hals und küsste ihn, und sie weinten.

Als er nun seine Augen erhob und die Frauen mit den Kindern sah, sprach er: Wer sind diese da bei dir? Er antwortete: Es sind die Kinder, die Gott deinem Knechte aus Gnaden beschert hat.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

Und die Mägde traten herzu mit ihren Kindern und verneigten sich.

Y se llegaron las siervas, ellas y sus niños, é inclináronse.

And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

Und er sprach: Was willst du denn mit diesem ganzen Heer, dem ich begegnet bin? Er antwortete: Dass ich Gnade finde vor meinem Herrn.

Y él dijo: ¿Qué te propones con todas estas cuadrillas que he encontrado? Y él respondió: El hallar gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Esau sprach: Ich habe genug, mein Bruder; behalte, was du hast.

Y dijo Esaú: Harto tengo yo, hermano mío: sea para ti lo que es tuyo.

And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.

Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; let that which you have be yours.”

Jakob antwortete: Nicht doch! Habe ich Gnade vor dir gefunden, so nimm das Geschenk von mir an; denn ich habe ja dein Angesicht schauen dürfen, wie man Gottes Angesicht schaut, und du hast mich gütig aufgenommen.

Y dijo Jacob: No, yo te ruego, si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, toma mi presente de mi mano, pues que así he visto tu rostro, como si hubiera visto el rostro de Dios; y hazme placer.

And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

Jacob said, “Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

Nimm doch die Gabe an, die ich dir gebracht habe; denn Gott hat es mir in Gnaden beschert, und ich habe vollauf. So drang er in ihn, bis er es annahm.

Toma, te ruego, mi dádiva que te es traída; porque Dios me ha hecho merced, y todo lo que hay aquí es mío. Y porfió con él, y tomóla.

Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

Und Esau sprach: Lass uns nun aufbrechen und fortziehen; ich will vor dir her ziehen.

And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.

Er aber sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr sieht, dass die Kinder noch zart sind und dass ich für die säugenden Schafe und Rinder zu sorgen habe; übertriebe man sie auch nur einen Tag, so würde mir die ganze Herde sterben.

Y él le dijo: Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que tengo ovejas y vacas paridas; y si las fatigan, en un día morirán todas las ovejas.

And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.

Mein Herr ziehe doch seinem Knechte voraus. Ich will gemächlich nachtreiben, wie eben das Vieh vor mir und die Kinder wandern können, bis ich zu meinem Herrn nach Seir komme.

Pase ahora mi señor delante de su siervo, y yo me iré poco á poco al paso de la hacienda que va delante de mí, y al paso de los niños, hasta que llegue á mi señor á Seir.

Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.”

Esau sprach: So will ich doch von den Leuten, die ich bei mir habe, etliche bei dir lassen. Er antwortete: Wozu das? Möge ich nur Gnade finden vor meinem Herrn.

Y Esaú dijo: Dejaré ahora contigo de la gente que viene conmigo. Y él dijo: ¿Para qué esto? halle yo gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me.” He said, “Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Da zog Esau an jenem Tage wieder seines Weges nach Seir.

Así se volvió Esaú aquel día por su camino á Seir.

Jakob aber zog nach Sukkoth und baute sich ein Haus; für sein Vieh aber machte er Hütten. Daher nannte er die Stätte Sukkoth. (1) d.i. Hütten.

Y Jacob se partió á Succoth, y edificó allí casa para sí, é hizo cabañas para su ganado: por tanto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Succoth.

Darnach kam Jakob wohlbehalten zu der Stadt Sichem im Lande Kanaan, als er aus Mesopotamien kam, und lagerte vor der Stadt.

Y vino Jacob sano á la ciudad de Sichêm, que está en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padan-aram; y acampó delante de la ciudad.

And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city.

Und er kaufte das Grundstück, auf dem er sein Zelt aufgeschlagen hatte, von den Söhnen Hemors, des Vaters Sichems, um hundert Taler.

Dort richtete er einen Malstein auf und baute einen Altar und nannte ihn "El, Gott Israels".
