Ma alzando i suoi occhi Giacobbe vide Esaù, che veniva, e con lui quattrocento uomini: e divise i figli di Lia, e di Rachele, e delle sue schiave.

Y ALZANDO Jacob sus ojos miró, y he aquí venía Esaú, y los cuatrocientos hombres con él: entonces repartió él los niños entre Lea y Rachêl y las dos siervas.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

E l'una, e l'altra schiava, e i loro figliuoli li pose in primo luogo. Lia, e i figliuoli di lei nel secondo luogo: e Rachele, e Giuseppe da ultimo.

Y puso las siervas y sus niños delante; luego á Lea y á sus niños; y á Rachêl y á José los postreros.

And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

Ed egli andando innanzi s'inchinò fino a terra sette volte, prima che si approssimasse il suo fratello.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

E appressandosi le schiave, e i loro figliuoli s'inchinarono profondamente.

Y se llegaron las siervas, ellas y sus niños, é inclináronse.

Si appressò anche Lia co' suoi figliuoli: e dopo che si furono nella stessa guisa inchinati, Giuseppe, e Rachele fecero ultimi profondo inchino.

E disse Esaù: Che significano le squadre, che io già incontrai? Rispose: Bramai di trovar grazia nel cospetto del signor mio.

Y él dijo: ¿Qué te propones con todas estas cuadrillas que he encontrado? Y él respondió: El hallar gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Ma quegli disse: Ho del bene di là da molto, fratel mio: tieni il tuo per te.

Y dijo Esaú: Harto tengo yo, hermano mío: sea para ti lo que es tuyo.

And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.

Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; let that which you have be yours.”

E Giacobbe disse: Non far così, ti prego: ma se ho trovato grazia negli occhi tuoi, accetta il piccol dono dalle mie mani: imperocché io ho veduto la tua faccia, come se io vedessi il volto di Dio: siimi propizio,

Y dijo Jacob: No, yo te ruego, si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, toma mi presente de mi mano, pues que así he visto tu rostro, como si hubiera visto el rostro de Dios; y hazme placer.

And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

Jacob said, “Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

E accetta la benedizione, che io ti ho recato, e la quale fu donata a me da Dio, il quale dà tutte le cose. E accettandola a mala pena sforzato dal fratello,

Toma, te ruego, mi dádiva que te es traída; porque Dios me ha hecho merced, y todo lo que hay aquí es mío. Y porfió con él, y tomóla.

Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

Please take the gift that I brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” He urged him, and he took it.

Disse quegli: Andiamo di conserva, e io ti sarò compagno nel viaggio.

Y dijo: Anda, y vamos; y yo iré delante de ti.

And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.

Ma disse Giacobbe: Tu vedi, signor mio, che io ho meco de' teneri bambini, e pecore, e vacche pregne: e se gli affaticherò più del dovere a camminare, morranno in un dì tutti i greggi.

Y él le dijo: Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que tengo ovejas y vacas paridas; y si las fatigan, en un día morirán todas las ovejas.

And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.

Vada il signor mio davanti al suo servo: e io seguirò bel bello le sue pedate, conforme vedrò, che possano fare i miei bambini, fino a tanto ch'io giunga presso al signor mio a Seir.

Pase ahora mi señor delante de su siervo, y yo me iré poco á poco al paso de la hacienda que va delante de mí, y al paso de los niños, hasta que llegue á mi señor á Seir.

Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.”

Rispose Esaù: Ti prego di lasciar, che almeno restino della gente, che è con me, alcuni, che ti accompagnino nel viaggio. Non è necessario, disse quegli: di questo solo ho bisogno, di trovar grazia nel cospetto tuo, mio signore.

Y Esaú dijo: Dejaré ahora contigo de la gente que viene conmigo. Y él dijo: ¿Para qué esto? halle yo gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me.” He said, “Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Tornò adunque in quel giorno Esaù per la strada, per cui era venuto in Seir.

Así se volvió Esaú aquel día por su camino á Seir.

E Giacobbe giunse a Socoth: dove fabbricata avendo una casa, e piantate le tende, diede a quel luogo il nome di Socoth, vale a dire Padiglioni.

Y Jacob se partió á Succoth, y edificó allí casa para sí, é hizo cabañas para su ganado: por tanto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Succoth.

And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

E dopo il suo ritorno dalla Mesopotamia di Siria passò a Salem città de' Sichimiti, che è nella terra di Chanaan: e abitò presso alla città.

Y vino Jacob sano á la ciudad de Sichêm, que está en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padan-aram; y acampó delante de la ciudad.

And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city.

E comprò quella parte di campo, dove avea piantate le tende, da' figliuoli di Hemor padre di Sichem per cento agnelle.

Y compró una parte del campo, donde tendió su tienda, de mano de los hijos de Hamor, padre de Sichêm, por cien piezas de moneda.

And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for an hundred pieces of money.

E ivi alzato un altare, dinanzi ad esso invocò il fortissimo Dio d'Israele. Dina è rapita da Sichem figliuolo del principe de' Sichimiti: i quali prima circoncisi son trucidati da Simeone, e da Levi, fratelli di Dina; e dagli altri figliuoli di Giacobbe è desolata la loro città: per la qual cosa Simeone, e Levi sono sgridati dal padre.

Y erigió allí un altar, y llamóle: El Dios de Israel.

And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.
