Bientôt Jacob ayant levé les yeux, vit son frère Esaü arriver avec quatre cents hommes, et Jacob rangea séparément les enfants, autour de Lia, de Rachel et des deux servantes.

Y ALZANDO Jacob sus ojos miró, y he aquí venía Esaú, y los cuatrocientos hombres con él: entonces repartió él los niños entre Lea y Rachêl y las dos siervas.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.

And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

Lui-même s'avança devant eux tous, et se prosterna sept fois jusqu'à terre avant d'arriver à Esaü.

Les servantes et leurs enfants s'approchèrent aussi, et ils se prosternèrent.

Or, Esaü dit : Quoi ! les troupeaux que j'ai rencontrés sont-ils aussi à toi ? Jacob répondit : Je les ai envoyés pour que ton serviteur trouve grâce devant toi, seigneur.

Y él dijo: ¿Qué te propones con todas estas cuadrillas que he encontrado? Y él respondió: El hallar gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Et son frère dit : J'ai de grandes possessions, frère, garde tes biens pour toi.

Y dijo Esaú: Harto tengo yo, hermano mío: sea para ti lo que es tuyo.

And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.

Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; let that which you have be yours.”

Si j'ai trouvé grâce devant toi, reprit Jacob, accepte mes présents, car j'ai vu ta face comme on verrait la face de Dieu ; tu me feras ce plaisir :

Y dijo Jacob: No, yo te ruego, si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, toma mi presente de mi mano, pues que así he visto tu rostro, como si hubiera visto el rostro de Dios; y hazme placer.

And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.

Jacob said, “Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

Prends donc les présents que je t'ai apportés, parce que le Seigneur dans sa miséricorde m'en a gratifié, et que tout cela est à moi. Et il usa de contrainte, et son frère accepta.

Toma, te ruego, mi dádiva que te es traída; porque Dios me ha hecho merced, y todo lo que hay aquí es mío. Y porfió con él, y tomóla.

Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

Please take the gift that I brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” He urged him, and he took it.

Or, Esaü dit : Partons, et marchons droit devant nous.

Jacob lui répondit : Mon seigneur sait que les enfants sont délicats, que des brebis et des vaches pleines m'accompagnent ; si donc je les presse un seul jour, tout mon bétail mourra.

Y él le dijo: Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que tengo ovejas y vacas paridas; y si las fatigan, en un día morirán todas las ovejas.

And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.

Que mon seigneur précède son serviteur, et de mon côté je me hâterai en chemin, selon les forces de ce qui marche devant moi, et selon le pas des enfants, jusqu'à ce que j'aie rejoint mon seigneur en Séir.

Pase ahora mi señor delante de su siervo, y yo me iré poco á poco al paso de la hacienda que va delante de mí, y al paso de los niños, hasta que llegue á mi señor á Seir.

Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.”

Et son frère reprit : Je laisserai avec toi une partie des gens qui m'accompagnent. Il répondit : Pourquoi cela ? il me suffit d'avoir trouvé grâce devant toi, seigneur.

Y Esaú dijo: Dejaré ahora contigo de la gente que viene conmigo. Y él dijo: ¿Para qué esto? halle yo gracia en los ojos de mi señor.

And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.

Esau said, “Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me.” He said, “Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Et ce jour-là même Esaü reprit, pour retourner à Séir, le chemin par lequel il était venu.

Así se volvió Esaú aquel día por su camino á Seir.

De son côté Jacob s'en alla dresser ses tentes ; il éleva là pour lui des tentes, et pour ses troupeaux des abris ; c'est pourquoi il nomma ce lieu les Tabernacles.

De là, Jacob passa à Salem, ville des Sécimes qui est en la terre de Chanaan, où il était rentré en revenant de la Mésopotamie Syrienne, et il campa en face de la ville.

Y vino Jacob sano á la ciudad de Sichêm, que está en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padan-aram; y acampó delante de la ciudad.

Il acheta d'Emmor, père de Sichem, au prix de cent agneaux, la portion du champ où il avait dressé ses tentes.
