And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight.

J'y ai acquis des bœufs, et des ânes, et du menu bétail, et des serviteurs et des servantes ; j'envoie des messagers à mon seigneur Esaü, afin que son serviteur trouve grâce devant lui.
Y los mensajeros volvieron á Jacob, diciendo: Vinimos á tu hermano Esaú, y él también viene á recibirte, y cuatrocientos hombres con él.
And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him.

C'est vous qui avez dit : Je te serai favorable, et je rendrai ta race aussi nombreuse que le sable de la mer, dont nul ne saurait compter l'abondance.

And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Tu ne te nommeras plus Jacob, reprit l'ange, Israël sera ton nom : parce que tu as été fort contre Dieu, et que tu seras fort contre les hommes.

À cause de cela les fils d'Israël, aujourd'hui encore, ne mangent point le nerf du gras de la cuisse qui fut engourdi, parce que le gras de la cuisse de Jacob fut touché et que le nerf s'engourdit.
