De jour le hâle me consumait, et de nuit la gelée ; et mon sommeil fuyait de devant mes yeux.

De día me consumía el calor, y de noche la helada, y el sueño se huía de mis ojos.

Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
