Perché hai tu voluto fuggire senza ch'io lo sapessi, e non anzi avvertirmi, affinché ti accompagnassi con festa, e cantici, e timpani, e cetre?

¿Por qué te escondiste para huir, y me hurtaste, y no me diste noticia, para que yo te enviara con alegría y con cantares, con tamborín y vihuela?

Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
