Und Jakob hob seine Füße auf, und ging nach dem Lande der Söhne des Ostens.

Y miró, y vió un pozo en el campo: y he aquí tres rebaños de ovejas que yacían cerca de él; porque de aquel pozo abrevaban los ganados: y había una gran piedra sobre la boca del pozo.

And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.

Und dorthin versammelten sich alle Herden, und sie wälzten den Stein von der Mündung des Brunnens und tränkten das Kleinvieh, und brachten den Stein zurück auf die Mündung des Brunnens an seinen Ort.

Y juntábanse allí todos los rebaños; y revolvían la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevaban las ovejas; y volvían la piedra sobre la boca del pozo á su lugar.

And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.

Und Jakob sprach zu ihnen: Meine Brüder, woher seid ihr? Und sie sprachen: Von Charan sind wir.

Y díjoles Jacob: Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde sois? Y ellos respondieron: De Harán somos.

And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Kennet ihr Laban, den Sohn Nachors? Und sie sprachen: Wir kennen ihn.

Y él les dijo: ¿Conocéis á Labán, hijo de Nachôr? Y ellos dijeron: Sí, le conocemos.

And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Hat er Frieden? Und sie sprachen: Frieden; und siehe, Rachel, seine Tochter, kommt mit dem Kleinvieh.

Y él les dijo: ¿Tiene paz? Y ellos dijeron: Paz; y he aquí Rachêl su hija viene con el ganado.

And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”

Und er sprach: Siehe, der Tag ist noch lang, es ist nicht die Zeit, die Viehherden zu versammeln. Tränket das Kleinvieh und gehet, weidet.

Y él dijo: He aquí el día es aún grande; no es tiempo todavía de recoger el ganado; abrevad las ovejas, é id á apacentarlas.

And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”

Und sie sprachen: Wir können nicht, bevor die Herden alle versammelt sind, da wälzen sie den Stein von der Mündung des Brunnens und wir tränken das Kleinvieh.

Y ellos respondieron: No podemos, hasta que se junten todos los ganados, y remuevan la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, para que abrevemos las ovejas.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

Noch redete er mit ihnen, da kam Rachel mit dem Kleinvieh ihres Vaters; denn sie war Hirtin.

And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep: for she kept them.

Und es geschah, wie Jakob Rachel, die Tochter Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter, und das Kleinvieh Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter sah, da trat Jakob herzu und wälzte den Stein von der Mündung des Brunnens und tränkte das Kleinvieh Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter.

Y sucedió que, como Jacob vió á Rachêl, hija de Labán hermano de su madre, y á las ovejas de Labán el hermano de su madre, llegóse Jacob, y removió la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevó el ganado de Labán hermano de su madre.

And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

Und es geschah, als Laban die Kunde von Jakob, dem Sohne seiner Schwerster, hörte, da lief er ihm entgegen und umarmte ihn und küßte ihn, und brachte ihn in sein Haus herein. Und er erzählte Laban alle diese Worte.

Y así que oyó Labán las nuevas de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió á recibirlo, y abrazólo, y besólo, y trájole á su casa: y él contó á Labán todas estas cosas.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Und Laban sprach zu ihm: Fürwahr, du bist mein Bein und mein Fleisch, und er wohnte bei ihm einen Monat von Tagen.

Y Labán le dijo: Ciertamente hueso mío y carne mía eres. Y estuvo con él el tiempo de un mes.

And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” Jacob stayed with him for a month.

Und Laban sprach zu Jakob: Solltest du, weil du mein Bruder bist, mir umsonst dienen? Sage mir an, was soll dein Lohn sein?

Entonces dijo Labán á Jacob: ¿Por ser tú mi hermano, me has de servir de balde? declárame qué será tu salario.

And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”

Und Laban hatte zwei Töchter, die ältere mit Namen Leah und die Jüngere mit Namen Rachel.

Y los ojos de Lea eran tiernos, pero Rachêl era de lindo semblante y de hermoso parecer.

Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

Und Jakob liebte Rachel und sprach: Ich will dir sieben Jahre um Rachel, deine jüngste Tochter, dienen.

And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

Und Laban sprach: Es ist besser, ich gebe sie dir, als daß ich sie einem anderen Manne gebe; bleibe bei mir.

Y Labán respondió: Mejor es que te la dé á ti, que no que la dé á otro hombre: estáte conmigo.

And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Und Jakob diente um Rachel sieben Jahre; und sie waren in seinen Augen wie einige Tage, in seiner Liebe für sie.

Así sirvió Jacob por Rachêl siete años: y pareciéronle como pocos días, porque la amaba.

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Und Laban gab ihr Silpah seine Dienstmagd, seiner Tochter Leah zur Dienstmagd.

Y dió Labán su sierva Zilpa á su hija Lea por criada.

And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Laban gave Zilpah his servant to his daughter Leah for a servant.

Und es war am Morgen - siehe, da war es Leah. Und er sprach zu Laban: Warum hast du mir das getan? Habe ich nicht bei dir um Rachel gedient, und warum hast du mich betrogen?

Y venida la mañana, he aquí que era Lea: y él dijo á Labán: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho? ¿no te he servido por Rachêl? ¿por qué, pues, me has engañado?

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Und Laban sprach: Man tut nicht also in unserem Orte, daß man die Jüngere gibt vor der Erstgeborenen.

Y Labán respondió: No se hace así en nuestro lugar, que se dé la menor antes de la mayor.

And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Laban said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Erfülle diese Woche, dann wollen wir dir auch diese geben um den Dienst, den du bei mir noch andere sieben Jahre dienen sollst.

Cumple la semana de ésta, y se te dará también la otra, por el servicio que hicieres conmigo otros siete años.

Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”

Und Jakob tat also, und erfüllte diese Woche, und er gab ihm Rachel, seine Tochter, ihm zum Weibe.

E hizo Jacob así, y cumplió la semana de aquélla: y él le dió á Rachêl su hija por mujer.

And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

Und er kam auch zu Rachel und liebte auch die Rachel mehr denn die Leah, und diente bei ihm noch andere sieben Jahre.

Y entró también á Rachêl: y amóla también más que á Lea: y sirvió con él aún otros siete años.

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Und Jehovah sah, daß Leah gehaßt wurde und Er öffnete ihren Mutterschoß, Rachel aber war unfruchtbar.

Und Leah empfing und gebar einen Sohn und sie nannte seinen Namen Ruben; denn, sprach sie, Jehovah hat mein Elend gesehen. Denn jetzt wird mich mein Mann lieben.

Y concibió Lea, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Rubén, porque dijo: Ya que ha mirado Jehová mi aflicción; ahora por tanto me amará mi marido.

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

Und sie empfing wieder und gebar einen Sohn, und sprach: Jehovah hat gehört, daß ich gehaßt bin und hat mir auch diesen gegeben, und nannte seinen Namen Schimeon.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Por cuanto oyó Jehová que yo era aborrecida, me ha dado también éste. Y llamó su nombre Simeón.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon.

Und sie empfing wieder und gebar einen Sohn, und sprach: Jetzt, diesmal wird mein Mann mir anhangen, denn ich habe ihm drei Söhne geboren; deshalb nannte sie seinen Namen Levi.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Ahora esta vez se unirá mi marido conmigo, porque le he parido tres hijos: por tanto, llamó su nombre Leví.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Und sie empfing wieder und gebar einen Sohn, und sprach: Diesmal bekenne ich Jehovah; daher nannte sie seinen Namen Jehudah, und sie hörte auf zu gebären.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré á Jehová: por esto llamó su nombre Judá: y dejó de parir.

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time I will praise the LORD.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
