Und Jakob erhob seine Füße und ging nach dem Lande der Kinder des Ostens.

Y SIGUIÓ Jacob su camino, y fué á la tierra de los orientales.

Y miró, y vió un pozo en el campo: y he aquí tres rebaños de ovejas que yacían cerca de él; porque de aquel pozo abrevaban los ganados: y había una gran piedra sobre la boca del pozo.

And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.

Und waren alle Herden dort zusammengetrieben, so wälzte man den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens und tränkte die Schafe; und man brachte den Stein wieder auf die Öffnung des Brunnens an seinen Ort.

Y juntábanse allí todos los rebaños; y revolvían la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevaban las ovejas; y volvían la piedra sobre la boca del pozo á su lugar.

And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.

Und Jakob sprach zu ihnen: Meine Brüder, woher seid ihr? Und sie sprachen: Wir sind von Haran.

Y díjoles Jacob: Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde sois? Y ellos respondieron: De Harán somos.

And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”

Da sprach er zu ihnen: Kennet ihr Laban, den Sohn Nahors? Und sie sprachen: Wir kennen ihn.

Y él les dijo: ¿Conocéis á Labán, hijo de Nachôr? Y ellos dijeron: Sí, le conocemos.

And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Geht es ihm wohl? Und sie sprachen: Es geht ihm wohl; und siehe, da kommt seine Tochter Rahel mit den Schafen.

Y él les dijo: ¿Tiene paz? Y ellos dijeron: Paz; y he aquí Rachêl su hija viene con el ganado.

And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”

Da sprach er: Siehe, es ist noch hoch am Tage, es ist nicht Zeit, das Vieh zusammenzutreiben; tränket die Schafe und gehet hin, weidet.

Y él dijo: He aquí el día es aún grande; no es tiempo todavía de recoger el ganado; abrevad las ovejas, é id á apacentarlas.

And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”

Und sie sprachen: Wir können nicht, bis alle Herden zusammengetrieben werden; dann wälzt man den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens, und wir tränken die Schafe.

Y ellos respondieron: No podemos, hasta que se junten todos los ganados, y remuevan la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, para que abrevemos las ovejas.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

Noch redete er mit ihnen, da kam Rahel mit den Schafen, die ihrem Vater gehörten; denn sie war eine Hirtin.

And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep: for she kept them.

Und es geschah, als Jakob die Rahel sah, die Tochter Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter, und die Schafe Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter, da trat Jakob hinzu und wälzte den Stein von der Öffnung des Brunnens und tränkte die Schafe Labans, des Bruders seiner Mutter.

Y sucedió que, como Jacob vió á Rachêl, hija de Labán hermano de su madre, y á las ovejas de Labán el hermano de su madre, llegóse Jacob, y removió la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevó el ganado de Labán hermano de su madre.

And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

Und es geschah, als Laban die Kunde von Jakob, dem Sohne seiner Schwester, hörte, da lief er ihm entgegen und umarmte ihn und küßte ihn und führte ihn in sein Haus; und er erzählte dem Laban alle diese Dinge.

Y así que oyó Labán las nuevas de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió á recibirlo, y abrazólo, y besólo, y trájole á su casa: y él contó á Labán todas estas cosas.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Und Laban sprach zu ihm: Fürwahr, du bist mein Bein und mein Fleisch. Und er blieb bei ihm einen Monat lang.

Y Labán le dijo: Ciertamente hueso mío y carne mía eres. Y estuvo con él el tiempo de un mes.

And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” Jacob stayed with him for a month.

Und Laban sprach zu Jakob: Ist es, weil du mein Bruder bist, daß du mir umsonst dienen solltest? Tue mir kund, was soll dein Lohn sein?

Entonces dijo Labán á Jacob: ¿Por ser tú mi hermano, me has de servir de balde? declárame qué será tu salario.

And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”

Und Laban hatte zwei Töchter; der Name der älteren war Lea und der Name der jüngeren Rahel.

Y Labán tenía dos hijas: el nombre de la mayor era Lea, y el nombre de la menor, Rachêl.

And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Und die Augen der Lea waren blöde; Rahel aber war schön von Gestalt und schön von Angesicht.

Y los ojos de Lea eran tiernos, pero Rachêl era de lindo semblante y de hermoso parecer.

Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

Und Jakob liebte Rahel und sprach: Ich will dir sieben Jahre dienen um Rahel, deine jüngere Tochter.

And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

Und Laban sprach: Es ist besser, ich gebe sie dir, als daß ich sie einem anderen Manne gebe; bleibe bei mir.

Y Labán respondió: Mejor es que te la dé á ti, que no que la dé á otro hombre: estáte conmigo.

And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”

Und Jakob diente um Rahel sieben Jahre; und sie waren in seinen Augen wie einzelne Tage, weil er sie liebte.

Así sirvió Jacob por Rachêl siete años: y pareciéronle como pocos días, porque la amaba.

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Und Jakob sprach zu Laban: Gib mir mein Weib; denn meine Tage sind erfüllt, daß ich zu ihr eingehe.

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Und Laban gab seine Magd Silpa seiner Tochter Lea zur Magd.

Y dió Labán su sierva Zilpa á su hija Lea por criada.

And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Laban gave Zilpah his servant to his daughter Leah for a servant.

Und es geschah am Morgen, siehe, da war es Lea. Da sprach er zu Laban: Was hast du mir da getan! Habe ich nicht um Rahel bei dir gedient? Und warum hast du mich betrogen?

Y venida la mañana, he aquí que era Lea: y él dijo á Labán: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho? ¿no te he servido por Rachêl? ¿por qué, pues, me has engañado?

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Und Laban sprach: Es geschieht nicht also an unserem Orte, die Jüngere vor der Erstgeborenen zu geben.

Y Labán respondió: No se hace así en nuestro lugar, que se dé la menor antes de la mayor.

And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Laban said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Vollende die Woche mit dieser, so wollen wir dir auch jene geben, um den Dienst, den du bei mir dienen sollst noch andere sieben Jahre.

Cumple la semana de ésta, y se te dará también la otra, por el servicio que hicieres conmigo otros siete años.

Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”

Und Jakob tat also und vollendete die Woche mit dieser; und er gab ihm seine Tochter Rahel zum Weibe.

E hizo Jacob así, y cumplió la semana de aquélla: y él le dió á Rachêl su hija por mujer.

And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

Und Laban gab seiner Tochter Rahel seine Magd Bilha zur Magd.

Y dió Labán á Rachêl su hija por criada á su sierva Bilha.

And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.

Und er ging auch zu Rahel ein; und er liebte auch Rahel mehr als Lea. Und er diente bei ihm noch andere sieben Jahre.

Y entró también á Rachêl: y amóla también más que á Lea: y sirvió con él aún otros siete años.

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Und als Jehova sah, daß Lea gehaßt war, da öffnete er ihren Mutterleib; Rahel aber war unfruchtbar.

Und Lea ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn, und sie gab ihm den Namen Ruben, denn sie sprach: Weil Jehova mein Elend angesehen hat; denn nun wird mein Mann mich lieben.

Y concibió Lea, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Rubén, porque dijo: Ya que ha mirado Jehová mi aflicción; ahora por tanto me amará mi marido.

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

Und sie ward wiederum schwanger und gebar einen Sohn; und sie sprach: Weil Jehova gehört hat, daß ich gehaßt bin, so hat er mir auch diesen gegeben. Und sie gab ihm den Namen Simeon.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Por cuanto oyó Jehová que yo era aborrecida, me ha dado también éste. Y llamó su nombre Simeón.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon.

Und sie ward wiederum schwanger und gebar einen Sohn; und sie sprach: Nun, diesmal wird sich mein Mann an mich anschließen, denn ich habe ihm drei Söhne geboren! Darum gab man ihm den Namen Levi.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Ahora esta vez se unirá mi marido conmigo, porque le he parido tres hijos: por tanto, llamó su nombre Leví.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Und sie ward wiederum schwanger und gebar einen Sohn; und sie sprach: Diesmal will ich Jehova preisen! Darum gab sie ihm den Namen Juda. Und sie hörte auf zu gebären.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré á Jehová: por esto llamó su nombre Judá: y dejó de parir.

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time I will praise the LORD.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
