Da hub Jakob seine Füfte auf und ging in das Land, das gegen Morgen liegt,

Y SIGUIÓ Jacob su camino, y fué á la tierra de los orientales.

Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.

und sah sich urn, und siehe, da war ein Brunnen auf dem Felde; und siehe, drei Herden Schafe lagen dabei, denn von dem Brunnen pflegten sie die Herden zu tranken, und lag ein grafter Stein vor dem Loch des Brunnens.

Y miró, y vió un pozo en el campo: y he aquí tres rebaños de ovejas que yacían cerca de él; porque de aquel pozo abrevaban los ganados: y había una gran piedra sobre la boca del pozo.

And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.

Und sie pflegten die Herden alle daselbst zu versammeln und den Stein von dem Brunnenloch zu walzen und die Schafe zu tranken, und taten alsdann den Stein wieder vor das Loch an seine Statte.

Y juntábanse allí todos los rebaños; y revolvían la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevaban las ovejas; y volvían la piedra sobre la boca del pozo á su lugar.

And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well’s mouth in his place.

Und Jakob sprach zu ihnen: Lieben Bruder, wo seid ihr her? Sie antworteten: Wir sind von Haran.

Y díjoles Jacob: Hermanos míos, ¿de dónde sois? Y ellos respondieron: De Harán somos.

And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.

Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”

Er sprach zu ihnen: Kennet ihr auch Laban, den Sohn Nahors? Sie antworteten: Wir kennen ihn wohl.

Y él les dijo: ¿Conocéis á Labán, hijo de Nachôr? Y ellos dijeron: Sí, le conocemos.

And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.

He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”

Er sprach: Gehet es ihm auch wohl? Sie antworteten: Es gehet ihm wohl; und siehe, da kommt seine Tochter Rahel mit den Schafen.

Y él les dijo: ¿Tiene paz? Y ellos dijeron: Paz; y he aquí Rachêl su hija viene con el ganado.

And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”

Er sprach: Es ist noch hoch Tag und ist noch nicht Zeit, das Vieh einzutreiben; tranket die Schafe und gehet hin und weidet sie.

Y él dijo: He aquí el día es aún grande; no es tiempo todavía de recoger el ganado; abrevad las ovejas, é id á apacentarlas.

And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.

He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”

Sie antworteten: Wir konnen nicht, bis daß alle Herden zusammengebracht werden, und wir den Stein von des Brunnens Loch walzen und also die Schafe tranken.

Y ellos respondieron: No podemos, hasta que se junten todos los ganados, y remuevan la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, para que abrevemos las ovejas.

And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well’s mouth; then we water the sheep.

They said, “We can’t, until all the flocks are gathered together, and they roll the stone from the well’s mouth. Then we will water the sheep.”

Als er noch mit ihnen redete, kam Rahel mit den Schafen ihres Vaters, denn sie hütete der Schafe.

Estando aún él hablando con ellos, Rachêl vino con el ganado de su padre, porque ella era la pastora.

And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep: for she kept them.

Da aber Jakob sah Rahel, die Tochter Labans, seiner Mutter Bruders, und die Schafe Labans, seiner Mutter Bruders, trat er hinzu und walzte den Stein von dem Loch des Brunnens und trankte die Schafe Labans, seiner Mutter Bruders.

Y sucedió que, como Jacob vió á Rachêl, hija de Labán hermano de su madre, y á las ovejas de Labán el hermano de su madre, llegóse Jacob, y removió la piedra de sobre la boca del pozo, y abrevó el ganado de Labán hermano de su madre.

And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

Und kussete Rahel und weinete laut

And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s brother, and that he was Rebekah’s son: and she ran and told her father.

Da aber Laban horete von Jakob, seiner Schwester Sohn, lief er ihm entgegen und herzete und kussete ihn und führete ihn in sein Haus. Da erzahlete er dem Laban alle diese Sache.

Y así que oyó Labán las nuevas de Jacob, hijo de su hermana, corrió á recibirlo, y abrazólo, y besólo, y trájole á su casa: y él contó á Labán todas estas cosas.

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.

Da sprach Laban zu ihm: Wohlan, du bist mein Bein und Fleisch. Und da er nun einen Mond lang bei ihm gewesen war,

Y Labán le dijo: Ciertamente hueso mío y carne mía eres. Y estuvo con él el tiempo de un mes.

And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” Jacob stayed with him for a month.

sprach Laban zu Jakob: Wiewohl du mein Bruder bist, solltest du mir darum umsonst dienen? Sage an, was soil dein Lohn sein?

Entonces dijo Labán á Jacob: ¿Por ser tú mi hermano, me has de servir de balde? declárame qué será tu salario.

And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”

Laban aber hatte zwo Tochter: die alteste hieft Lea, und die jungste hieft Rahel.

Y Labán tenía dos hijas: el nombre de la mayor era Lea, y el nombre de la menor, Rachêl.

And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Aber Lea hatte ein blodes Gesicht; Rahel war hubsch und schon.

Y los ojos de Lea eran tiernos, pero Rachêl era de lindo semblante y de hermoso parecer.

Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

Und Jakob gewann die Rahel lieb und sprach: Ich will dir sieben Jahre um Rahel, deine jungste Tochter, dienen.

Y Jacob amó á Rachêl, y dijo: Yo te serviré siete años por Rachêl tu hija menor.

And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.

Jacob loved Rachel. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”

Laban antwortete: Es ist besser, ich gebe sie dir denn einem andern; bleibe bei mir.

Y Labán respondió: Mejor es que te la dé á ti, que no que la dé á otro hombre: estáte conmigo.

And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.

Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”

Also dienete Jakob um Rahel sieben Jahre, und deuchten ihn, als waren es einzelne Tage, so lieb hatte er sie.

Así sirvió Jacob por Rachêl siete años: y pareciéronle como pocos días, porque la amaba.

And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

Und Jakob sprach zu Laban: Gib mir nun mein Weib; denn die Zeit ist hie, dad ich beiliege.

And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.

Da lud Laban alle Leute des Orts und machte ein Hochzeitsmahl.

Y dió Labán su sierva Zilpa á su hija Lea por criada.

And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.

Des Morgens aber siehe, da war es Lea. Und er sprach zu Laban: Warum hast du mir das getan? Habe ich dir nicht um Rahel gedienet? Warum hast du mich denn betrogen?

Y venida la mañana, he aquí que era Lea: y él dijo á Labán: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho? ¿no te he servido por Rachêl? ¿por qué, pues, me has engañado?

And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”

Laban antwortete: Es ist nicht Sitte in unserm Lande, daü man die jungste ausgebe vor der altesten.

Y Labán respondió: No se hace así en nuestro lugar, que se dé la menor antes de la mayor.

And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Laban said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.

Halte mit dieser die Woche aus, so will ich dir diese auch geben um den Dienst, den du bei mir noch andere sieben Jahre dienen sollst.

Cumple la semana de ésta, y se te dará también la otra, por el servicio que hicieres conmigo otros siete años.

Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”

Jakob tat also und hielt die Woche aus. Da gab ihm Laban Rahel, seine Tochter, zum Weibe.

E hizo Jacob así, y cumplió la semana de aquélla: y él le dió á Rachêl su hija por mujer.

And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.

Und gab seiner Tochter Rahel seine Magd Bilha zur Magd.

And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.

Also lag er auch bei mit Rahel und hatte Rahel lieber denn Lea; und dienete bei ihm furder die andern sieben Jahre.

Y entró también á Rachêl: y amóla también más que á Lea: y sirvió con él aún otros siete años.

And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Da aber der HERR sah, dad Lea unwert war, machte er sie fruchtbar und Rahel unfruchtbar.

Y vió Jehová que Lea era aborrecida, y abrió su matriz: pero Rachêl era estéril.

And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.

Und Lea ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn; den hiefi sie Ruben und sprach: Der HERR hat angesehen mein Elend; nun wird mich mein Mann lieb haben.

Y concibió Lea, y parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Rubén, porque dijo: Ya que ha mirado Jehová mi aflicción; ahora por tanto me amará mi marido.

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben. For she said, “Because the LORD has looked at my affliction; for now my husband will love me.”

Und ward abermal schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Der HERR hat gehoret, dad ich unwert bin, und hat mirdiesen auch gegeben. Und hied ihn Simeon.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Por cuanto oyó Jehová que yo era aborrecida, me ha dado también éste. Y llamó su nombre Simeón.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.

She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon.

Abermal ward sie schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Nun wird sich mein Mann wiederzu mir tun, denn ich habe ihm drei Sohne geboren. Darum hied sie ihn Levi.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Ahora esta vez se unirá mi marido conmigo, porque le he parido tres hijos: por tanto, llamó su nombre Leví.

And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.

Zum vierten ward sie schwanger und gebar einen Sohn und sprach: Nun will ich dem HERRN danken. Darum hied sie ihn Juda. Und horte auf Kinder zu gebaren.

Y concibió otra vez, y parió un hijo, y dijo: Esta vez alabaré á Jehová: por esto llamó su nombre Judá: y dejó de parir.

And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time I will praise the LORD.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
