Et il y eut une famine dans le pays, outre la première famine qui eut lieu au temps d'Abraham ; et Isaac alla a chez Abimélech, roi des Philistins, à Gérar.

Y HUBO hambre en la tierra, además de la primera hambre que fué en los días de Abraham: y fuése Isaac á Abimelech rey de los Filisteos, en Gerar.

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

Et l'Éternel lui apparut et dit : Ne descends point en Egypte, reste dans le pays que je t'indique.

Y apareciósele Jehová, y díjole: No desciendas á Egipto: habita en la tierra que yo te diré;

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

The LORD appeared to him, and said, “Don’t go down into Egypt. Live in the land I will tell you about.

Séjourne dans ce pays-ci, et je serai avec toi et te bénirai, car je veux te donner à toi et à ta postérité toutes ces contrées, et je maintiens le serment que j'ai fait à Abraham, ton père.

Habita en esta tierra, y seré contigo, y te bendeciré; porque á ti y á tu simiente daré todas estas tierras, y confirmaré el juramento que juré á Abraham tu padre:

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;

Live in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you. For I will give to you, and to your offspring, all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.

Et je rendrai ta postérité nombreuse comme les étoiles du ciel, et je donnerai à ta postérité toutes ces contrées-ci, et toutes les nations de la terre chercheront leur bénédiction dans ta postérité,

Y multiplicaré tu simiente como las estrellas del cielo, y daré á tu simiente todas estas tierras; y todas las gentes de la tierra serán benditas en tu simiente:

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and will give all these lands to your offspring. In your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed,

par la raison qu'Abraham a écouté ma voix et observé mes observances, mes commandements, mes statuts et mes lois.

Por cuanto oyó Abraham mi voz, y guardó mi precepto, mis mandamientos, mis estatutos y mis leyes.

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Isaac resta donc à Gérar.

Habitó, pues, Isaac en Gerar.

And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

Et lorsque les gens du lieu s'informaient de sa femme, il disait : C'est ma sœur, car il craignait de dire : c'est ma femme, ayant peur que les gens du lieu ne le fissent mourir à cause de Rebecca, car elle était belle de figure.

Y los hombres de aquel lugar le preguntaron acerca de su mujer; y él respondió: Es mi hermana; porque tuvo miedo de decir: Es mi mujer; que tal vez, dijo, los hombres del lugar me matarían por causa de Rebeca; porque era de hermoso aspecto.

And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

The men of the place asked him about his wife. He said, “She is my sister,” for he was afraid to say, “My wife”, lest, he thought, “the men of the place might kill me for Rebekah, because she is beautiful to look at.”

Et comme son séjour s'y était prolongé, il arriva qu'Abimélech, roi des Philistins, regardant par la fenêtre, aperçut Isaac qui faisait des caresses à Rebecca, sa femme.

Y sucedió que, después que él estuvo allí muchos días, Abimelech, rey de los Filisteos, mirando por una ventana, vió á Isaac que jugaba con Rebeca su mujer.

And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

Alors Abimélech manda Isaac et dit : Voici, c'est assurément ta femme ; et comment as-tu pu dire : C'est ma sœur ? Et Isaac lui dit : Je pensais recevoir la mort à cause d'elle.

Y llamó Abimelech á Isaac, y dijo: He aquí ella es de cierto tu mujer: ¿cómo, pues, dijiste: Es mi hermana? E Isaac le respondió: Porque dije: Quizá moriré por causa de ella.

And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.

Abimelech called Isaac, and said, “Behold, surely she is your wife. Why did you say, ‘She is my sister’?” Isaac said to him, “Because I said, ‘Lest I die because of her.’”

Et Abimélech dit : Pourquoi nous as-tu fait cela ? peu s'en est fallu que quelqu'un de ce peuple n'ait habité avec ta femme, et tu nous aurais chargés d'un crime.

Y Abimelech dijo: ¿Por qué nos has hecho esto? Por poco hubiera dormido alguno del pueblo con tu mujer, y hubieras traído sobre nosotros el pecado.

And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt on us!”

Alors Abimélech donna cet ordre à tout le peuple : Qui touchera à cet homme ou à sa femme, sera mis à mort.

Entonces Abimelech mandó á todo el pueblo, diciendo: El que tocare á este hombre ó á su mujer, de cierto morirá.

And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

Abimelech commanded all the people, saying, “He who touches this man or his wife will surely be put to death.”

Et Isaac fit les semailles dans ce pays, et il obtint cette année-là le centuple ; car l'Éternel le bénissait.

Y sembró Isaac en aquella tierra, y halló aquel año ciento por uno: y bendíjole Jehová.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

Et il s'accrut et alla en s'accroissant et en augmentant jusqu'à devenir très considérable.

Y el varón se engrandeció, y fué adelantando y engrandeciéndose, hasta hacerse muy poderoso:

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

Et il avait des troupeaux de menu bétail et des troupeaux de gros bétail, et un nombreux domestique, et les Philistins lui portèrent envie.

Y tuvo hato de ovejas, y hato de vacas, y grande apero; y los Filisteos le tuvieron envidia.

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Et tous les puits qu'avaient creusés les serviteurs de son père au temps d'Abraham, les Philistins les obstruèrent et les comblèrent avec de l'arène.

Y todos los pozos que habían abierto los criados de Abraham su padre en sus días, los Filisteos los habían cegado y llenado de tierra.

For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.

Et Abimélech dit à Isaac : Va-t-en de chez nous, car tu es devenu trop puissant pour nous.

Y dijo Abimelech á Isaac: Apártate de nosotros, porque mucho más poderoso que nosotros te has hecho.

And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we.”

Alors Isaac partit de là et campa dans le ravin de Gérar, et il y demeura.

E Isaac se fué de allí; y asentó sus tiendas en el valle de Gerar, y habitó allí.

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

Et Isaac recreusa les puits qui avaient été creusés au temps d'Abraham, son père, et qu'avaient obstrués les Philistins après la mort d'Abraham, et il les appela des mêmes noms dont son père les avait appelés.

Y volvió á abrir Isaac los pozos de agua que habían abierto en los días de Abraham su padre, y que los Filisteos habían cegado, muerto Abraham; y llamólos por los nombres que su padre los había llamado.

And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

Et les serviteurs d'Isaac creusèrent dans le ravin et y trouvèrent une fontaine d'eau vive.

Y los siervos de Isaac cavaron en el valle, y hallaron allí un pozo de aguas vivas.

And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.

Et les bergers de Gérar cherchèrent querelle aux bergers d'Isaac, disant : Cette eau est à nous. Et il donna à la fontaine le nom de Esec (querelle), parce qu'ils lui avaient cherché querelle.

Y los pastores de Gerar riñeron con los pastores de Isaac, diciendo: El agua es nuestra: por eso llamó el nombre del pozo Esek, porque habían altercado con él.

And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

The herdsmen of Gerar argued with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him.

Et ils creusèrent un autre puits, et on lui chercha encore querelle pour celui-ci, et il l'appela du nom de Sitna hostilité).

Y abrieron otro pozo, y también riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Sitnah.

And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.

They dug another well, and they argued over that, also. So he called its name Sitnah.

Et il partit de là, et il creusa un autre puits, et pour celui-ci on ne lui chercha pas querelle et il l'appela du nom de Rechoboth (le large) et dit : Maintenant l'Éternel nous a donné du large, et nous nous propageons dans le pays.

Y apartóse de allí, y abrió otro pozo, y no riñeron sobre él: y llamó su nombre Rehoboth, y dijo: Porque ahora nos ha hecho ensanchar Jehová, y fructificaremos en la tierra.

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

He left that place, and dug another well. They didn’t argue over that one. So he called it Rehoboth. He said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.”

Et de là il si remonta à Beersébah.

Y de allí subió á Beer-seba.

And he went up from thence to Beer-sheba.

Alors l'Éternel lui apparut cette nuit même et dit : Je suis le Dieu d'Abraham, ton père : sois sans peur, car je suis avec toi, et je bénirai et multiplierai ta postérité en considération d'Abraham, mon serviteur.

Y apareciósele Jehová aquella noche, y dijo: Yo soy el Dios de Abraham tu padre; no temas, que yo soy contigo, y yo te bendeciré, y multiplicaré tu simiente por amor de Abraham mi siervo.

And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.

The LORD appeared to him the same night, and said, “I am the God of Abraham your father. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your offspring for my servant Abraham’s sake.”

Et il éleva là un autel, et invoqua le nom de l'Éternel, et il y dressa sa tente, et les serviteurs d'Isaac y creusèrent un puits.

Y edificó allí un altar, é invocó el nombre de Jehová, y tendió allí su tienda: y abrieron allí los siervos de Isaac un pozo.

And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the LORD, and pitched his tent there: and there Isaac’s servants digged a well.

Et Abimélech vint le trouver depuis Gérar avec Achuzath, son ami, et Phichol, son général d'armée.

Y Abimelech vino á él desde Gerar, y Ahuzzath, amigo suyo, y Phicol, capitán de su ejército.

Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

Et Isaac leur dit : Pourquoi venez-vous chez moi, puisque vous me haïssez et m'avez renvoyé de chez vous ?

Y díjoles Isaac: ¿Por qué venís á mí, pues que me habéis aborrecido, y me echasteis de entre vosotros?

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

Isaac said to them, “Why have you come to me, since you hate me, and have sent me away from you?”

Et ils répondirent : Nous voyons bien que l'Éternel est avec toi ! c'est pourquoi nous disons : Il faut qu'un serment intervienne entre nous, entre nous et toi,

Y ellos respondieron: Hemos visto que Jehová es contigo; y dijimos: Haya ahora juramento entre nosotros, entre nosotros y ti, y haremos alianza contigo:

And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;

They said, “We saw plainly that the LORD was with you. We said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let’s make a covenant with you,

et nous voulons stipuler avec toi par une alliance que tu ne nous feras aucun mal, de même que nous ne t'avons point porté atteinte, et de même que nous n'avons eu pour toi que de bons procédés et que nous t'avons laissé partir sain et sauf. Tu es toujours béni de l'Éternel.

Que no nos hagas mal, como nosotros no te hemos tocado, y como solamente te hemos hecho bien, y te enviamos en paz: tú ahora, bendito de Jehová.

That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

that you will do us no harm, as we have not touched you, and as we have done to you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace.’ You are now the blessed of the LORD.”

Alors il leur fil un festin, et ils mangèrent et burent.

Entonces él les hizo banquete, y comieron y bebieron.

And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

Et le même jour il arriva que des serviteurs d'Isaac vinrent le renseigner sur le puits qu'ils creusaient et lui dirent : Nous avons trouvé de l'eau.

Y en aquel día sucedió que vinieron los criados de Isaac, y diéronle nuevas acerca del pozo que habían abierto, y le dijeron: Agua hemos hallado.

And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac’s servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water.

Et il l'appela Siba (sept) ; c'est pourquoi la ville a porté jusqu'aujourd'hui le nom de Beersébah.

Y llamólo Seba: por cuya causa el nombre de aquella ciudad es Beer-seba hasta este día.

And he called it Shebah: therefore the name of the city is Beer-sheba unto this day.

He called it “Shibah”. Therefore the name of the city is “Beersheba” to this day.

Et Esaü étant âgé de quarante ans, prit pour femmes Judith, fille de Beeri, Héthien, et Bosemath, fille de Elon, Héthien.

Y cuando Esaú fué de cuarenta años, tomó por mujer á Judith hija de Beeri Hetheo, y á Basemat hija de Elón Hetheo:

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

When Esau was forty years old, he took as wife Judith, the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite.

Et elles furent un chagrin de cœur pour Isaac et Rebecca.

Y fueron amargura de espíritu á Isaac y á Rebeca.

Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

They grieved Isaac’s and Rebekah’s spirits.
