weil Abraham meiner Stimme gehorcht und beobachtet hat meine Vorschriften, meine Gebote, meine Satzungen und meine Gesetze.

And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

Und es geschah, als er längere Zeit dort gewesen war, da blickte Abimelech, der König der Philister, durchs Fenster, und er sah und siehe, Isaak scherzte mit Rebekka, seiner Frau.

Und Abimelech sprach: Was hast du uns da getan! Wenig fehlte, so hätte einer aus dem Volk bei deiner Frau gelegen, und du hättest eine Schuld über uns gebracht.

And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.
Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt on us!”
Und Abimelech gebot allem Volk und sprach: Wer diesen Mann und seine Frau antastet, soll gewisslich getötet werden.
Entonces Abimelech mandó á todo el pueblo, diciendo: El que tocare á este hombre ó á su mujer, de cierto morirá.
And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
He left that place, and dug another well. They didn’t argue over that one. So he called it Rehoboth. He said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.”

And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.

Und Isaak sprach zu ihnen: Warum kommt ihr zu mir, da ihr mich doch hasst und mich von euch weggetrieben habt?

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

They said, “We saw plainly that the LORD was with you. We said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, even between us and you, and let’s make a covenant with you,
dass du uns nichts Übles tust, so wie wir dich nicht angetastet haben und wie wir dir nur Gutes erwiesen und dich haben ziehen lassen in Frieden. Du bist nun einmal ein Gesegneter des HERRN.
Que no nos hagas mal, como nosotros no te hemos tocado, y como solamente te hemos hecho bien, y te enviamos en paz: tú ahora, bendito de Jehová.
That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the LORD.

Und sie waren ein Herzeleid für Isaak und Rebekka.
Y fueron amargura de espíritu á Isaac y á Rebeca.
Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.
They grieved Isaac’s and Rebekah’s spirits.
