Abraham prit une autre femme, dont le nom était Ketoura.

Abraham donna tout ce qu'il possédait à Isaac,

Le SEIGNEUR lui dit : « Deux nations sont dans ton ventre. Deux peuples se sépareront au sortir de tes entrailles. L'un des peuples sera plus fort que l'autre peuple. L'aîné servira le plus jeune. »

Y respondióle Jehová: Dos gentes hay en tu seno, y dos pueblos serán divididos desde tus entrañas: y el un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro pueblo, y el mayor servirá al menor.

And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Les garçons grandirent. Ésaü devint un habile chasseur, un homme des champs. Jacob fut un homme tranquille, qui restait sous les tentes.

And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Ésaü dit à Jacob : « S'il te plaît, donne-moi à manger de ce potage roux, car je suis affamé. » C'est pourquoi son nom fut appelé Édom.

Dijo á Jacob: Ruégote que me des á comer de eso bermejo, pues estoy muy cansado. Por tanto fué llamado su nombre Edom.

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí yo me voy á morir; ¿para qué, pues, me servirá la primogenitura?

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

Esau said, “Behold, I am about to die. What good is the birthright to me?”

Jacob dit : « Jure-le-moi d'abord. » Il le lui jura. Il vendit son droit d'aînesse à Jacob.

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
