Génesis 24

Abraham era anciano, entrado en días, y Yavé lo había bendecido en todo.

Y ABRAHAM era viejo, y bien entrado en días; y Jehová había bendecido á Abraham en todo.

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.

Abraham was old, and well advanced in age. The LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.

Y Abraham dijo al esclavo más antiguo de su casa, el cual administraba todo lo que aquél tenía: Coloca ahora tu mano debajo de mi muslo

Y dijo Abraham á un criado suyo, el más viejo de su casa, que era el que gobernaba en todo lo que tenía: Pon ahora tu mano debajo de mi muslo,

And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:

Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please put your hand under my thigh.

y jurarás por Yavé, ʼElohim de los cielos y de la tierra, que no tomarás para mi hijo esposa de las hijas de los cananeos en medio de los cuales yo vivo,

Y te juramentaré por Jehová, Dios de los cielos y Dios de la tierra, que no has de tomar mujer para mi hijo de las hijas de los Cananeos, entre los cuales yo habito;

And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I live.

sino que irás a mi tierra y a mi parentela y tomarás esposa para mi hijo Isaac.

Sino que irás á mi tierra y á mi parentela, y tomarás mujer para mi hijo Isaac.

But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

But you shall go to my country, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”

Y el esclavo le respondió: Quizás la mujer no consienta en venir conmigo a esta tierra. ¿Llevaré a tu hijo a la tierra de donde saliste?

Y el criado le respondió: Quizá la mujer no querrá venir en pos de mí á esta tierra: ¿volveré, pues, tu hijo á la tierra de donde saliste?

And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?

The servant said to him, “What if the woman isn’t willing to follow me to this land? Must I bring your son again to the land you came from?”

Entonces Abraham le contestó: Guárdate de no llevar a mi hijo allá.

Y Abraham le dijo: Guárdate que no vuelvas á mi hijo allá.

And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.

Abraham said to him, “Beware that you don’t bring my son there again.

Yavé, el ʼElohim del cielo, Quien me tomó de la casa de mi padre y de la tierra de mi parentela, y Quien me habló y me juró: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra, Él mismo enviará su Ángel delante de ti y de allá tomarás esposa para mi hijo.

Jehová, Dios de los cielos, que me tomó de la casa de mi padre y de la tierra de mi parentela, y me habló y me juró, diciendo: A tu simiente daré esta tierra; él enviará su ángel delante de ti, y tú tomarás de allá mujer para mi hijo.

The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.

The LORD, the God of heaven—who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my birth, who spoke to me, and who swore to me, saying, ‘I will give this land to your offspring—he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

Si la mujer no consiente en venir contigo, entonces quedarás desligado de mi juramento, pero no hagas que mi hijo vaya allá.

Y si la mujer no quisiere venir en pos de ti, serás libre de este mi juramento; solamente que no vuelvas allá á mi hijo.

And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again.

If the woman isn’t willing to follow you, then you shall be clear from this oath to me. Only you shall not bring my son there again.”

Entonces el esclavo puso su mano debajo del muslo de su ʼadón Abraham y le juró sobre este asunto.

Entonces el criado puso su mano debajo del muslo de Abraham su señor, y juróle sobre este negocio.

And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter.

The servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.

El esclavo tomó diez de los camellos de su ʼadón, y salió con una variedad de cosas buenas de su ʼadón en su mano. Se levantó y fue a Mesopotamia, a la ciudad de Nacor.

Y el criado tomó diez camellos de los camellos de su señor, y fuése, pues tenía á su disposición todos los bienes de su señor: y puesto en camino, llegó á Mesopotamia, á la ciudad de Nachôr.

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

The servant took ten of his master’s camels, and departed, having a variety of good things of his master’s with him. He arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.

En las afueras de la ciudad hizo arrodillar los camellos junto a un pozo de agua al tiempo de llegar la tarde, en el momento cuando salen las jóvenes a sacar agua.

E hizo arrodillar los camellos fuera de la ciudad, junto á un pozo de agua, á la hora de la tarde, á la hora en que salen las mozas por agua.

And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

He made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.

Y dijo: ¡Yavé, ʼElohim de mi ʼadón Abraham, haz que hoy me suceda, te ruego, haz misericordia a mi ʼadón Abraham!

Y dijo: Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, dame, te ruego, el tener hoy buen encuentro, y haz misericordia con mi señor Abraham.

And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham.

He said, “LORD, the God of my master Abraham, please give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

Aquí estoy yo junto a una fuente de agua y las hijas de los habitantes de la ciudad salen a sacar agua.

He aquí yo estoy junto á la fuente de agua, y las hijas de los varones de esta ciudad salen por agua:

Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:

Behold, I am standing by the spring of water. The daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

Sea que la joven a quien yo diga: Baja tu cántaro, te ruego, para que yo beba, y ella responda: Bebe, y también abrevaré tus camellos, ésa sea la que designaste para tu esclavo Isaac. Y por esto sabré que hiciste misericordia con mi ʼadón.

Sea, pues, que la moza á quien yo dijere: Baja tu cántaro, te ruego, para que yo beba; y ella respondiere: Bebe, y también daré de beber á tus camellos: que sea ésta la que tú has destinado para tu siervo Isaac; y en esto conoceré que habrás hecho misericordia con mi señor.

And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master.

Let it happen, that the young lady to whom I will say, ‘Please let down your pitcher, that I may drink,’ then she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink,’—let her be the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

Aconteció que antes que él acabara de hablar, ahí llegaba Rebeca, la cual le nació a Betuel, hijo de Milca, esposa de Nacor, hermano de Abraham, llegaba con su cántaro al hombro.

Y aconteció que antes que él acabase de hablar, he aquí Rebeca, que había nacido á Bethuel, hijo de Milca, mujer de Nachôr hermano de Abraham, la cual salía con su cántaro sobre su hombro.

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

Before he had finished speaking, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher on her shoulder.

La muchacha era de apariencia muy hermosa, virgen, a la que ningún varón se unió. Y al bajar a la fuente, llenó su cántaro y salió.

Y la moza era de muy hermoso aspecto, virgen, á la que varón no había conocido; la cual descendió á la fuente, y llenó su cántaro, y se volvía.

And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

The young lady was very beautiful to look at, a virgin. No man had known her. She went down to the spring, filled her pitcher, and came up.

Entonces el esclavo corrió a su encuentro y le dijo: Te ruego que me des a beber un poco de agua de tu cántaro.

Entonces el criado corrió hacia ella, y dijo: Ruégote que me des á beber un poco de agua de tu cántaro.

And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.

The servant ran to meet her, and said, “Please give me a drink, a little water from your pitcher.”

Ella respondió: Bebe, mi ʼadón. Y se apresuró a bajar el cántaro sobre su mano y le dio de beber.

Y ella respondió: Bebe, señor mío: y dióse prisa á bajar su cántaro sobre su mano, y le dió á beber.

And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.

She said, “Drink, my lord.” She hurried, and let down her pitcher on her hand, and gave him a drink.

Cuando acabó de darle de beber dijo: También sacaré agua para tus camellos hasta que acaben de beber.

Y cuando acabó de darle á beber, dijo: También para tus camellos sacaré agua, hasta que acaben de beber.

And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.

When she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will also draw for your camels, until they have finished drinking.”

Se apresuró y vació su cántaro en el abrevadero. Corrió otra vez al pozo para sacar agua y sacó para todos sus camellos.

Y dióse prisa, y vació su cántaro en la pila, y corrió otra vez al pozo para sacar agua, y sacó para todos sus camellos.

And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.

She hurried, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again to the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.

El hombre, con la vista fija en ella, callaba para saber si Yavé había prosperado o no su camino.

Y el hombre estaba maravillado de ella, callando, para saber si Jehová había prosperado ó no su viaje.

And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.

The man looked steadfastly at her, remaining silent, to know whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.

Aconteció que cuando los camellos acabaron de beber, el hombre le dio un pendiente de oro que pesaba 5,5 gramos, y dos brazaletes de oro que pesaban 110 gramos.

Y fué que como los camellos acabaron de beber, presentóle el hombre un pendiente de oro que pesaba medio siclo, y dos brazaletes que pesaban diez:

And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;

As the camels had finished drinking, the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,

Y le preguntó: ¿De quién eres hija? Dime te ruego: ¿Hay lugar en casa de tu padre para que nosotros pasemos la noche?

Y dijo: ¿De quién eres hija? Ruégote me digas, ¿hay lugar en casa de tu padre donde posemos?

And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father’s house for us to lodge in?

and said, “Whose daughter are you? Please tell me. Is there room in your father’s house for us to stay?”

Ella le respondió: Yo soy hija de Betuel, el hijo que Milca dio a luz a Nacor.

Y ella respondió: Soy hija de Bethuel, hijo de Milca, el cual parió ella á Nachôr.

And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.

She said to him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.”

Y añadió: También hay en nuestra casa pasto, mucho forraje y lugar para pasar la noche.

Y añadió: También hay en nuestra casa paja y mucho forraje, y lugar para posar.

She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.

She said moreover to him, “We have both straw and feed enough, and room to lodge in.”

Entonces el hombre hizo reverencia, se postró ante Yavé

El hombre entonces se inclinó, y adoró á Jehová.

And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.

The man bowed his head, and worshiped the LORD.

y dijo: Bendito sea Yavé, ʼElohim de mi ʼadón Abraham, que no apartó su misericordia y su fidelidad hacia mi ʼadón, y cuando yo tomé camino, me condujo Yavé a casa de los hermanos de mi ʼadón.

Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová, Dios de mi amo Abraham, que no apartó su misericordia y su verdad de mi amo, guiándome Jehová en el camino á casa de los hermanos de mi amo.

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master’s brethren.

He said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, the LORD has led me on the way to the house of my master’s relatives.”

Entonces la muchacha corrió y contó estas cosas en casa de su madre.

Y la moza corrió, é hizo saber en casa de su madre estas cosas.

And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother’s house these things.

The young lady ran, and told her mother’s house about these words.

Rebeca tenía un hermano llamado Labán, el cual corrió hacia el que estaba fuera, junto a la fuente.

Y Rebeca tenía un hermano que se llamaba Labán, el cual corrió afuera al hombre, á la fuente;

And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.

Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban. Laban ran out to the man, to the spring.

Cuando Labán vio el pendiente y los brazaletes en las muñecas de su hermana y oyó las palabras de su hermana Rebeca, quien decía: Este hombre me habló así, él corrió hacia el hombre, quien, por cierto, permanecía con los camellos junto a la fuente.

Y fué que como vió el pendiente y los brazaletes en las manos de su hermana, que decía, Así me habló aquel hombre; vino á él: y he aquí que estaba junto á los camellos á la fuente.

And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister’s hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.

When he saw the ring, and the bracelets on his sister’s hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, “This is what the man said to me,” he came to the man. Behold, he was standing by the camels at the spring.

Labán le dijo: Entra, bendito de Yavé. ¿Por qué te quedas afuera? Pues yo preparé la casa y lugar para los camellos.

Y díjole: Ven, bendito de Jehová; ¿por qué estás fuera? yo he limpiado la casa, y el lugar para los camellos.

And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.

He said, “Come in, you blessed of the LORD. Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.”

Entonces el hombre entró en la casa, y Labán le desató los camellos y les dio pasto y forraje. También le dio agua para lavar sus pies y los pies de los hombres que estaban con él.

Entonces el hombre vino á casa, y Labán desató los camellos; y dióles paja y forraje, y agua para lavar los piés de él, y los piés de los hombres que con él venían.

And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men’s feet that were with him.

The man came into the house, and he unloaded the camels. He gave straw and feed for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.

También le sirvió comida, pero el esclavo dijo: No comeré hasta cuando diga mis palabras. Y Labán le dijo: ¡Habla!

Y pusiéronle delante qué comer; mas él dijo: No comeré hasta que haya dicho mi mensaje. Y él le dijo: Habla.

And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.

Food was set before him to eat, but he said, “I will not eat until I have told my message.” Laban said, “Speak on.”

Contestó: Yo soy esclavo de Abraham.

Entonces dijo: Yo soy criado de Abraham;

And he said, I am Abraham’s servant.

He said, “I am Abraham’s servant.

Yavé ha bendecido mucho a mi ʼadón, y se engrandeció, pues le dio ovejas y ganado vacuno, plata y oro, esclavos y esclavas, y camellos y asnos.

Y Jehová ha bendecido mucho á mi amo, y él se ha engrandecido: y le ha dado ovejas y vacas, plata y oro, siervos y siervas, camellos y asnos.

And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.

The LORD has blessed my master greatly. He has become great. The LORD has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male servants and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

Sara, esposa de mi ʼadón, dio a luz un hijo en su vejez a mi ʼadón, quien le dio todo lo que posee.

Y Sara, mujer de mi amo, parió en su vejez un hijo á mi señor, quien le ha dado todo cuanto tiene.

And Sarah my master’s wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.

Sarah, my master’s wife, bore a son to my master when she was old. He has given all that he has to him.

Y mi ʼadón me juramentó: No tomarás para mi hijo esposa de las hijas del cananeo en cuya tierra yo vivo,

Y mi amo me hizo jurar, diciendo: No tomarás mujer para mi hijo de las hijas de los Cananeos, en cuya tierra habito;

And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:

My master made me swear, saying, ‘You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I live,

sino irás a casa de mi padre y a mi familia, y tomarás esposa para mi hijo.

Sino que irás á la casa de mi padre, y á mi parentela, y tomarás mujer para mi hijo.

But thou shalt go unto my father’s house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son.

but you shall go to my father’s house, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son.’

Yo dije a mi ʼadón: Quizás la mujer no quiera venir conmigo.

Y yo dije: Quizás la mujer no querrá seguirme.

And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.

I asked my master, ‘What if the woman will not follow me?’

Me contestó: Yavé, en cuya presencia he andado, enviará a su Ángel contigo, prosperará tu camino y podrás tomar esposa para mi hijo de entre mi familia y de la casa de mi padre.

Entonces él me respondió: Jehová, en cuya presencia he andado, enviará su ángel contigo, y prosperará tu camino; y tomarás mujer para mi hijo de mi linaje y de la casa de mi padre:

And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house:

He said to me, ‘The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way. You shall take a wife for my son from my relatives, and of my father’s house.

Entonces, cuando llegues a mi familia, quedarás desligado de mi juramento. Así que, si no quieren dártela, quedarás libre de mi juramento.

Entonces serás libre de mi juramento, cuando hubieres llegado á mi linaje; y si no te la dieren, serás libre de mi juramento.

Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.

Then you will be clear from my oath, when you come to my relatives. If they don’t give her to you, you shall be clear from my oath.’

Así, pues, llegué hoy a la fuente y dije: Yavé, ʼElohim de mi ʼadón Abraham, te ruego que hagas prosperar mi camino en el cual ando.

Llegué, pues, hoy á la fuente, y dije: Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, si tú prosperas ahora mi camino por el cual ando;

And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:

I came today to the spring, and said, ‘The LORD, the God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go—

Aquí estoy junto a la fuente del agua. Sea, pues, que la joven que salga a sacar agua, a quien yo le diga: Te ruego que me des de beber un poco de agua de tu cántaro

He aquí yo estoy junto á la fuente de agua; sea, pues, que la doncella que saliere por agua, á la cual dijere: Dame á beber, te ruego, un poco de agua de tu cántaro;

Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;

behold, I am standing by this spring of water. Let it happen, that the maiden who comes out to draw, to whom I will say, “Please give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,”

y me conteste: Bebe tú mismo, y también sacaré para tus camellos, sea ésta la esposa que Yavé destinó para el hijo de mi ʼadón.

Y ella me respondiere, Bebe tú, y también para tus camellos sacaré agua: ésta sea la mujer que destinó Jehová para el hijo de mi señor.

And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master’s son.

then she tells me, “Drink, and I will also draw for your camels,”—let her be the woman whom the LORD has appointed for my master’s son.’

Antes que yo acabara de hablar en mi corazón, ahí estaba Rebeca con su cántaro al hombro quien bajaba a la fuente. Cuando sacó agua le dije: Te ruego que me des de beber.

Y antes que acabase de hablar en mi corazón, he aquí Rebeca, que salía con su cántaro sobre su hombro; y descendió á la fuente, y sacó agua; y le dije: Ruégote que me des á beber.

And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.

Before I had finished speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came out with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the spring, and drew. I said to her, ‘Please let me drink.’

Y se apresuró, bajó su cántaro de encima de ella y respondió: Bebe, y también abrevaré tus camellos. Y bebí, y ella abrevó los camellos.

Y prestamente bajó su cántaro de encima de sí, y dijo: Bebe, y también á tus camellos daré á beber. Y bebí, y dió también de beber á mis camellos.

And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also.

She hurried and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink.’ So I drank, and she also gave the camels a drink.

Le pregunté: ¿De quién eres hija? Y respondió: Soy hija de Betuel, el hijo que Milca le dio a luz a Nacor. Entonces le puse el pendiente en la nariz y los brazaletes en sus manos.

Entonces preguntéle, y dije: ¿De quién eres hija? Y ella respondió: Hija de Bethuel, hijo de Nachôr, que le parió Milca. Entonces púsele un pendiente sobre su nariz, y brazaletes sobre sus manos:

And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands.

I asked her, and said, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ She said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bore to him.’ I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her hands.

E hice reverencia, me postré ante Yavé. Bendije a Yavé, ʼElohim de mi ʼadón Abraham, Quien me condujo por camino recto a fin de tomar a la hija del hermano de mi ʼadón para su hijo.

E inclinéme, y adoré á Jehová, y bendije á Jehová, Dios de mi señor Abraham, que me había guiado por camino de verdad para tomar la hija del hermano de mi señor para su hijo.

And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master’s brother’s daughter unto his son.

I bowed my head, and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master’s brother’s daughter for his son.

Y al responder Labán y Betuel, dijeron: De parte de Yavé salió esto. No podemos decirte algo malo o bueno.

Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.

Ahí está Rebeca delante de ti. Tómala y vete, y sea la esposa del hijo de tu ʼadón, como lo dijo Yavé.

Cuando el esclavo de Abraham oyó sus palabras, se postró en tierra delante de Yavé.

Y fué, que como el criado de Abraham oyó sus palabras, inclinóse á tierra á Jehová.

And it came to pass, that, when Abraham’s servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.

Después el esclavo sacó alhajas de plata, objetos de oro y ropa, y se los dio a Rebeca. También dio valiosos regalos a su hermano y a su madre.

And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.

Después comieron y bebieron, él y los que lo acompañaban, y pasaron la noche. Al levantarse de mañana, dijo: Envíenme a mi ʼadón.

And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.

Entonces el hermano de ella y su madre respondieron: Permanezca la doncella con nosotros algunos días, por lo menos diez, y después se irá.

And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.

Pero él les dijo: No me retrasen ya que Yavé hizo prosperar mi camino. Despáchenme para que me vaya a mi ʼadón.

Y él les dijo: No me detengáis, pues que Jehová ha prosperado mi camino; despachadme para que me vaya á mi señor.

And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master.

He said to them, “Don’t hinder me, since the LORD has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.”

Y ellos contestaron: Llamemos a la joven y preguntémosle cuál es su deseo.

Ellos respondieron entonces: Llamemos la moza y preguntémosle.

And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth.

They said, “We will call the young lady, and ask her.”

Llamaron a Rebeca y le dijeron: ¿Irás tú con este varón? Y ella respondió: Iré.

And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

Entonces despidieron a su hermana Rebeca, a su madre de crianza, al esclavo de Abraham y a sus hombres.

Entonces dejaron ir á Rebeca su hermana, y á su nodriza, y al criado de Abraham y á sus hombres.

And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant, and his men.

Bendijeron a Rebeca y le dijeron: ¡Hermana nuestra, sé madre de miles de millares y que tus descendientes posean la puerta de sus enemigos!

And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

Rebeca se levantó con sus doncellas, montaron sobre los camellos y siguieron al hombre. Y el esclavo tomó a Rebeca y salió.

And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.

Mientras tanto, Isaac regresaba del pozo del Viviente-que-me-ve, pues él habitaba en la región del Neguev.

Y venía Isaac del pozo del Viviente que me ve; porque él habitaba en la tierra del Mediodía;

And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahai-roi; for he dwelt in the south country.

She said to the servant, “Who is the man who is walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” She took her veil, and covered herself.

El esclavo le contó a Isaac todas las cosas que hizo.
