Génesis 22

Después de algunos años, Dios sometió a Abraham a una prueba. ―¡Abraham! —llamó Dios. ―Aquí estoy —respondió Abraham.

Y ACONTECIÓ después de estas cosas, que tentó Dios á Abraham, y le dijo: Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”

Entonces Dios le dijo: ―Toma a Isaac, tú único hijo a quien tanto amas, y llévalo a la tierra de Moria. Cuando llegues a allá, me lo ofrecerás en holocausto sobre uno de los cerros que yo te señalaré.

Y dijo: Toma ahora tu hijo, tu único, Isaac, á quien amas, y vete á tierra de Moriah, y ofrécelo allí en holocausto sobre uno de los montes que yo te diré.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

He said, “Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

Al día siguiente, Abraham madrugó y ensilló su burro. Luego cortó la leña para el holocausto, y junto con dos de sus criados y su hijo Isaac salió rumbo al lugar que Dios le había indicado.

Y Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y enalbardó su asno, y tomó consigo dos mozos suyos, y á Isaac su hijo: y cortó leña para el holocausto, y levantóse, y fué al lugar que Dios le dijo.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Al tercer día, alzó Abraham los ojos y vio el lugar a lo lejos.

Entonces Abraham les dijo a sus criados: ―Quédense aquí con el burro, mientras el muchacho y yo vamos allí para adorar. Luego volveremos.

Entonces dijo Abraham á sus mozos: Esperaos aquí con el asno, y yo y el muchacho iremos hasta allí, y adoraremos, y volveremos á vosotros.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go over there. We will worship, and come back to you.”

Abraham puso la leña del holocausto sobre los hombros de Isaac, y tomó el cuchillo y el fuego. Entonces los dos continuaron juntos el camino.

Y tomó Abraham la leña del holocausto, y púsola sobre Isaac su hijo: y él tomó en su mano el fuego y el cuchillo; y fueron ambos juntos.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

―¡Padre mío! —dijo Isaac—. Y Abraham le contestó: ―Aquí estoy, ¿qué quieres, hijo mío? ―Tenemos la leña y el fuego —siguió diciendo Isaac—, pero ¿dónde está el cordero para el sacrificio?

Entonces habló Isaac á Abraham su padre, y dijo: Padre mío. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, mi hijo. Y él dijo: He aquí el fuego y la leña; mas ¿dónde está el cordero para el holocausto?

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

Abraham le respondió: ―Dios lo proveerá, hijo mío. Y siguieron caminando.

Y respondió Abraham: Dios se proveerá de cordero para el holocausto, hijo mío. E iban juntos.

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Cuando llegaron al lugar que Dios le había indicado, Abraham edificó un altar y colocó la leña. Luego ató a su hijo Isaac y lo puso en el altar, sobre la leña.

Y como llegaron al lugar que Dios le había dicho, edificó allí Abraham un altar, y compuso la leña, y ató á Isaac su hijo, y púsole en el altar sobre la leña.

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Enseguida Abraham tomó el cuchillo, para matar a su hijo.

Y extendió Abraham su mano, y tomó el cuchillo, para degollar á su hijo.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

En ese momento, el ángel del Señor le gritó desde el cielo: ―¡Abraham! ¡Abraham! ―Aquí estoy —contestó Abraham.

Entonces el ángel de Jehová le dió voces del cielo, y dijo: Abraham, Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

The LORD’s angel called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”

―¡Suelta el cuchillo! No le hagas ningún daño al muchacho —le dijo el ángel—. Ahora sé que de verdad tienes temor de Dios, porque no te negaste a darme a tu único hijo.

Y dijo: No extiendas tu mano sobre el muchacho, ni le hagas nada; que ya conozco que temes á Dios, pues que no me rehusaste tu hijo, tu único.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

Entonces Abraham miró hacia atrás y vio que un carnero estaba enredado por los cuernos en un arbusto. Fue, tomó el carnero y lo ofreció en holocausto, en lugar de su hijo.

Entonces alzó Abraham sus ojos, y miró, y he aquí un carnero á sus espaldas trabado en un zarzal por sus cuernos: y fué Abraham, y tomó el carnero, y ofrecióle en holocausto en lugar de su hijo.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Por eso, Abraham le puso a ese lugar el nombre de «el Señor proveerá». Hasta hoy se dice: «En un monte el Señor proveerá».

Y llamó Abraham el nombre de aquel lugar, Jehová proveerá. Por tanto se dice hoy: En el monte de Jehová será provisto.

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Abraham called the name of that place “The LORD Will Provide”. As it is said to this day, “On the LORD’s mountain, it will be provided.”

Poco después, el ángel del Señor llamó nuevamente a Abraham desde el cielo,

Y llamó el ángel de Jehová á Abraham segunda vez desde el cielo,

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

The LORD’s angel called to Abraham a second time out of the sky,

y le dijo: ―Ya que me obedeciste y no me negaste a tu único hijo, juro por mí mismo —lo digo yo, el Señor—, que

Y dijo: Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Jehová, que por cuanto has hecho esto, y no me has rehusado tu hijo, tu único;

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

and said, “‘I have sworn by myself,’ says the LORD, ‘because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

te bendeciré muchísimo. Tu descendencia será tan numerosa como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena del mar. Además, tus descendientes poseerán las ciudades de sus enemigos.

Bendiciendo te bendeciré, y multiplicando multiplicaré tu simiente como las estrellas del cielo, y como la arena que está á la orilla del mar; y tu simiente poseerá las puertas de sus enemigos:

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

Por haberme obedecido, todas las naciones del mundo serán bendecidas por medio de tus descendientes.

En tu simiente serán benditas todas las gentes de la tierra, por cuanto obedeciste á mi voz.

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because you have obeyed my voice.’”

Entonces Abraham regresó al lugar donde había dejado a sus criados. Luego todos volvieron a Berseba, y Abraham se quedó a vivir allí.

Y tornóse Abraham á sus mozos, y levantáronse y se fueron juntos á Beer-seba; y habitó Abraham en Beer-seba.

So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.

So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba. Abraham lived at Beersheba.

Después de algún tiempo, Abraham recibió un mensaje en que se le contaba que Milca, la esposa de Najor, el hermano de Abraham, había tenido ocho hijos. El primero de ellos fue Uz. Luego nacieron: Buz y Quemuel, que fue el padre de Aram. A estos les siguieron: Quésed, Jazó, Pildás, Yidlaf y Betuel. Este último fue el padre de Rebeca. Así que estos fueron los ocho hijos que Milca le dio a Najor, el hermano de Abraham.

Y aconteció después de estas cosas, que fué dada nueva á Abraham, diciendo: He aquí que también Milca ha parido hijos á Nachôr tu hermano:

And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

—

A Huz su primogénito, y á Buz su hermano, y á Kemuel padre de Aram,

Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,

—

Y á Chêsed, y á Hazo, y á Pildas, y á Jidlaph, y á Bethuel.

And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”

Y Bethuel engendró á Rebeca. Estos ocho parió Milca á Nachôr, hermano de Abraham.

And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.

Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.

Además, con su concubina Reumá, Najor tuvo cuatro hijos, que fueron: Tébaj, Gaján, Tajás y Macá.

Y su concubina, que se llamaba Reúma, parió también á Teba, y á Gaham, y á Taas, y á Maachâ.

And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
