Habiendo partido de allí Abrahán hacia la tierra meridional, habitó entre Cades y Sut: y se hospedó en Gerarar.
DE allí partió Abraham á la tierra del Mediodía, y asentó entre Cades y Shur, y habitó como forastero en Gerar.
And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.
Abraham traveled from there toward the land of the South, and lived between Kadesh and Shur. He lived as a foreigner in Gerar.
Y hablando de Sara su esposa, dijo o dio a entender que era hermana suya. Por lo que Abimelec, rey de Gerara, envió por ella, y se la tomó.
Y dijo Abraham de Sara su mujer: Mi hermana es. Y Abimelech, rey de Gerar, envió y tomó á Sara.
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.
Pero Dios por la noche apareció en sueños a Abimelec, y le dijo: Mira que tú morirás por causa de la mujer que has tomado: porque tiene marido.
Empero Dios vino á Abimelech en sueños de noche, y le dijo: He aquí muerto eres á causa de la mujer que has tomado, la cual es casada con marido.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Behold, you are a dead man, because of the woman whom you have taken; for she is a man’s wife.”
Es de saber que Abimelec no la había tocado, y así respondió: ¿Cómo, Señor, tú castigarás de muerte a gente ignorante, pero justa?; ¿a un hombre inocente?
Mas Abimelech no había llegado á ella, y dijo: Señor, ¿matarás también la gente justa?
But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
Now Abimelech had not come near her. He said, “Lord, will you kill even a righteous nation?
¿No me dijo él mismo: Es hermana mía: y ella misma afirmó: Hermano mío es? Yo hice esto con sencillo corazón, y obrando con intención pura.
¿No me dijo él: Mi hermana es; y ella también dijo: Es mi hermano? Con sencillez de mi corazón, y con limpieza de mis manos he hecho esto.
Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.
Didn’t he tell me, ‘She is my sister’? She, even she herself, said, ‘He is my brother.’ I have done this in the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands.”
Le dijo Dios: Yo también sé que lo hiciste con corazón sencillo: y por eso te he preservado de pecar contra mí, ni permití que la tocases.
Y díjole Dios en sueños: Yo también sé que con integridad de tu corazón has hecho esto; y yo también te detuve de pecar contra mí, y así no te permití que la tocases.
And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.
God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also withheld you from sinning against me. Therefore I didn’t allow you to touch her.
Ahora, pues, restituya la mujer a su marido, porque él es un profeta; y rogará por ti, y vivirás; mas si no quisieres restituirla, sábete que morirás infaliblemente tú y todas las cosas tuyas.
Ahora, pues, vuelve la mujer á su marido; porque es profeta, y orará por ti, y vivirás. Y si tú no la volvieres, sabe que de cierto morirás, con todo lo que fuere tuyo.
Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.
Now therefore, restore the man’s wife. For he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you will live. If you don’t restore her, know for sure that you will die, you, and all who are yours.”
Con esto al instante, siendo aún de noche, se levantó Abimelec, y llamó a todos sus criados y les contó palabra por palabra todo lo referido, y quedaron todos ellos muy amedrentados.
Entonces Abimelech se levantó de mañana, y llamó á todos sus siervos, y dijo todas estas palabras en los oídos de ellos; y temieron los hombres en gran manera.

Llamó también Abimelec a Abrahán, y le dijo: ¿Qué es lo que has hecho con nosotros?; o ¿en qué te hemos ofendido, para que me hayas expuesto a mí y a mi pueblo a un gran pecado? Has hecho con nosotros lo que hacer no debiste.
Después llamó Abimelech á Abraham, y le dijo: ¿Qué nos has hecho? ¿y en qué pequé yo contra ti, que has atraído sobre mí y sobre mi reino tan gran pecado? lo que no debiste hacer has hecho conmigo.
Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.
Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”
Y querellándose de nuevo, dijo: ¿Qué has visto tú, para portarte así con nosotros?
Y dijo más Abimelech á Abraham: ¿Qué viste para que hicieses esto?
And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?
Abimelech said to Abraham, “What did you see, that you have done this thing?”
Respondió Abrahán: Pensé y dije allá en mi interior: Quizá no hay temor de Dios en este lugar, y me quitarán la vida por causa de mi mujer:
Y Abraham respondió: Porque dije para mí: Cierto no hay temor de Dios en este lugar, y me matarán por causa de mi mujer.
And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.
Abraham said, “Because I thought, ‘Surely the fear of God is not in this place. They will kill me for my wife’s sake.’
Por otra parte verdaderamente también es hermana mía, hija o nieta de mi padre, pero no de mi madre, y yo me casé con ella.
Y á la verdad también es mi hermana, hija de mi padre, mas no hija de mi madre, y toméla por mujer.
And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.

Pero después que Dios me hizo salir de la casa de mi padre, a ella le dije: La merced que me has de hacer es que en cualquier lugar a que lleguemos, digas que soy hermano tuyo.
Y fué que, cuando Dios me hizo salir errante de la casa de mi padre, yo le dije: Esta es la merced que tú me harás, que en todos los lugares donde llegáremos, digas de mí: Mi hermano es.
And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
When God caused me to wander from my father’s house, I said to her, ‘This is your kindness which you shall show to me. Everywhere that we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”’”
En seguida Abimelec mandó traer ovejas y bueyes, esclavos y esclavas, de que hizo donación a Abrahán, y le restituyó a Sara su esposa,
Entonces Abimelech tomó ovejas y vacas, y siervos y siervas, y diólo á Abraham, y devolvióle á Sara su mujer.
And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.

y añadió: Ahí tenéis el país, habita en donde gustares.
Y dijo Abimelech: He aquí mi tierra está delante de ti, habita donde bien te pareciere.
And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.
Abimelech said, “Behold, my land is before you. Dwell where it pleases you.”
Mas a Sara le dijo: Mira que he dado a tu hermano mil monedas de plata, para que, en cualquier lugar que vayas, tengas siempre un velo sobre los ojos en señal de casada delante de todos aquéllos con quienes te hallares: y acuérdate de que has sido cogida y reputada por soltera.
Y á Sara dijo: He aquí he dado mil monedas de plata á tu hermano; mira que él te es por velo de ojos para todos los que están contigo, y para con todos: así fué reprendida.
And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.
To Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated.”
Y haciendo oración Abrahán, sanó Dios a Abimelec y a su mujer, y a sus esclavos, y volvieron a tener hijos.
Entonces Abraham oró á Dios; y Dios sanó á Abimelech y á su mujer, y á sus siervas, y parieron.
So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.
Abraham prayed to God. So God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants, and they bore children.
Porque el Señor había vuelto estériles a todas las mujeres de la casa de Abimelec por lo sucedido con Sara mujer de Abrahán.
Porque había del todo cerrado Jehová toda matriz de la casa de Abimelech, á causa de Sara mujer de Abraham.
For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife.
For the LORD had closed up tight all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.
