Entre tanto los dos ángeles llegaron a Sodoma al llegar la noche. Lot estaba sentado en la puerta de Sodoma. Cuando Lot los vio, se levantó a recibirlos y al postrarse con su rostro a tierra,
LLEGARON, pues, los dos ángeles á Sodoma á la caída de la tarde: y Lot estaba sentado á la puerta de Sodoma. Y viéndolos Lot, levantóse á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia el suelo;
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

dijo: Oigan, mis ʼAdón, les ruego que se hospeden en casa de este esclavo, que pernocten y laven sus pies, y por la mañana se levanten y sigan su camino. Pero ellos contestaron: No, pasaremos la noche en la plaza.
Y dijo: Ahora, pues, mis señores, os ruego que vengáis á casa de vuestro siervo y os hospedéis, y lavaréis vuestros pies: y por la mañana os levantaréis, y seguiréis vuestro camino. Y ellos respondieron: No, que en la plaza nos quedaremos esta noche.
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
and he said, “See now, my lords, please come into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we will stay in the street all night.”
Sin embargo, como les rogó con insistencia, fueron con él. Entraron en su casa y él les preparó un banquete. Hizo panes sin levadura, y comieron.
Mas él porfió con ellos mucho, y se vinieron con él, y entraron en su casa; é hízoles banquete, y coció panes sin levadura, y comieron.
And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.

Llamaron a Lot y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron a ti esta noche? ¡Sácalos para que tengamos relaciones con ellos!
Y llamaron á Lot, y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron á ti esta noche? sácanoslos, para que los conozcamos.
And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

Entonces Lot salió a ellos hasta la entrada, cerró la puerta tras él

Oigan, les ruego, tengo dos hijas que no se han unido a varón. Las sacaré a ustedes ahora y hagan con ellas como les parezca bien, pero nada hagan a estos varones que vinieron a cobijarse bajo mi techo.
He aquí ahora yo tengo dos hijas que no han conocido varón; os las sacaré afuera, y haced de ellas como bien os pareciere: solamente á estos varones no hagáis nada, pues que vinieron á la sombra de mi tejado.
Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them what seems good to you. Only don’t do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
Pero respondieron: ¡Quítate de ahí! Y añadieron: Es el único que vino como forastero, ¿y pretende erigirse en juez? ¡Ahora te trataremos peor que a ellos! Y al arremeter violentamente contra Lot, intentaban forzar la puerta.
Y ellos respondieron: Quita allá: y añadieron: Vino éste aquí para habitar como un extraño, ¿y habrá de erigirse en juez? Ahora te haremos más mal que á ellos. Y hacían gran violencia al varón, á Lot, y se acercaron para romper las puertas.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
They said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one fellow came in to live as a foreigner, and he appoints himself a judge. Now we will deal worse with you than with them!” They pressed hard on the man Lot, and came near to break the door.
Entonces los varones visitantes extendieron sus manos y metieron a Lot junto a ellos en la casa y cerraron la puerta.

Los varones dijeron a Lot: ¿A quién más tienes aquí? Saca del lugar a tus yernos, tus hijos e hijas, y cualquiera que tengas en la ciudad,

And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
The men said to Lot, “Do you have anybody else here? Sons-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:
porque nosotros vamos a destruir este lugar ya que el clamor que subió delante de Yavé es grande. Yavé nos envió a destruirlo.
Porque vamos á destruir este lugar, por cuanto el clamor de ellos ha subido de punto delante de Jehová; por tanto Jehová nos ha enviado para destruirlo.
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

Entonces Lot salió y habló a sus yernos, los que iban a tomar a sus hijas, y les dijo: ¡Levántense! ¡Salgan de este lugar, porque Yavé va a destruir esta ciudad! Pero a sus futuros yernos les pareció que bromeaba.
Entonces salió Lot, y habló á sus yernos, los que habían de tomar sus hijas, y les dijo: Levantaos, salid de este lugar; porque Jehová va á destruir esta ciudad. Mas pareció á sus yernos como que se burlaba.
And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, “Get up! Get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city!” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.
Al rayar el alba, los ángeles apremiaban a Lot y le decían: ¡Levántate, toma a tu esposa y a tus dos hijas que están aquí para que no sean barridos en el castigo a la ciudad!
Y al rayar el alba, los ángeles daban prisa á Lot, diciendo: Levántate, toma tu mujer, y tus dos hijas que se hallan aquí, porque no perezcas en el castigo de la ciudad.
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

Pero como él vacilaba, los varones lo agarraron y lo sacaron de la mano a él, a su esposa y a sus dos hijas, según la misericordia de Yavé hacia él. Lo sacaron y lo pusieron fuera de la ciudad.
Y deteniéndose él, los varones asieron de su mano, y de la mano de su mujer, y de las manos de sus dos hijas, según la misericordia de Jehová para con él; y le sacaron, y le pusieron fuera de la ciudad.
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
But he lingered; and the men grabbed his hand, his wife’s hand, and his two daughters’ hands, the LORD being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.
Cuando los sacaron les dijeron: ¡Huye por tu vida! No mires atrás, ni te detengas en toda la llanura. ¡Escapa a la montaña, no sea que perezcas!
Y fué que cuando los hubo sacado fuera, dijo: Escapa por tu vida; no mires tras ti, ni pares en toda esta llanura; escapa al monte, no sea que perezcas.
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
It came to pass, when they had taken them out, that he said, “Escape for your life! Don’t look behind you, and don’t stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed!”
Lot les contestó: ¡No, les ruego, mis ʼAdonay!
Y Lot les dijo: No, yo os ruego, señores míos;
And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
Lot said to them, “Oh, not so, my lord.
Miren, les ruego, ya que su esclavo halló gracia ante sus ojos, y engrandecieron la misericordia para conmigo y preservaron mi vida. Pero no puedo escapar hasta la montaña, pues el desmayo me alcanzará, y moriré.
He aquí ahora ha hallado tu siervo gracia en tus ojos, y has engrandecido tu misericordia que has hecho conmigo dándome la vida; mas yo no podré escapar al monte, no sea caso que me alcance el mal, y muera.
Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your loving kindness, which you have shown to me in saving my life. I can’t escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die.
Oigan, les ruego, esa ciudad está cerca para huir allá y es pequeña. ¿No es insignificante? Permítanme que huya allá y conserve mi vida.
He aquí ahora esta ciudad está cerca para huir allá, la cual es pequeña; escaparé ahora allá, (¿no es ella pequeña?) y vivirá mi alma.
Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (isn’t it a little one?), and my soul will live.”
Un ángel le respondió: Ciertamente, también sobre esto acepto tu ruego. No destruiremos la ciudad de la cual hablaste.
Y le respondió: He aquí he recibido también tu súplica sobre esto, y no destruiré la ciudad de que has hablado.
And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
He said to him, “Behold, I have granted your request concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.
¡Apresúrate! Escapa hacia allá, pues no podré hacer alguna cosa hasta que llegues allá. Por eso llamó Zoar el nombre de la ciudad.
Date priesa, escápate allá; porque nada podré hacer hasta que allí hayas llegado. Por esto fué llamado el nombre de la ciudad, Zoar.
Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

Salía el sol sobre aquella tierra cuando Lot entraba en Zoar.

Entonces Yavé ordenó que lloviera azufre y fuego desde el cielo sobre Sodoma y Gomorra de parte de Yavé,

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

Miró hacia Sodoma, Gomorra y toda la región de la llanura. Ciertamente vio que un humo subía de la tierra, como la humareda de un horno.

Así ocurrió que cuando ʼElohim destruyó las ciudades de la llanura, ʼElohim se acordó de Abraham. Por eso sacó a Lot de en medio de la destrucción de las ciudades en las cuales Lot se estableció.
Así fué que, cuando destruyó Dios las ciudades de la llanura, acordóse Dios de Abraham, y envió fuera á Lot de en medio de la destrucción, al asolar las ciudades donde Lot estaba.
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Dijo la primogénita a la más joven: Nuestro padre es anciano, y no hay en esta tierra ni un varón que se una a nosotras según la costumbre de toda la tierra.

¡Ven! Hagamos beber vino a nuestro padre, y unámonos con él. Así preservaremos descendencia de nuestro padre.

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

Y dieron a beber vino a su padre aquella noche. Entró la primogénita y se unió a su padre, pero él no supo cuándo ella se unió ni cuándo se levantó.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

También hicieron beber vino a su padre aquella noche. Se levantó la más joven y se unió con él. Sin embargo, él no supo cuándo ella se unió, ni cuándo se levantó.
Y dieron á beber vino á su padre también aquella noche: y levantóse la menor, y durmió con él; pero no echó de ver cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.
And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
