1Und die beiden Engel kamen des Abends nach Sodom; Lot aber wohnte in Sodoms Vorstadt. Als Lot sie erblickte, trat er an sie heran und neigte sich bis zum Boden.
2Dann sprach er: "Meine Herren! Kehrt doch in eures Knechtes Haus zur Nachtrast ein und wascht euch die Füße! Dann möget ihr frühmorgens eures Weges ziehen!" Sie aber sprachen: "Nein! Wir wollen auf der Straße mächtigen."
3Er aber drang inständig in sie, und so kehrten sie bei ihm ein und betraten sein Haus. Da bereitete er ihnen eine Mahlzeit, buk ungesäuerte Kuchen, und sie aßen.
4Noch hatten sie sich nicht schlafen gelegt, als schon die Männer der Stadt, die Leute von Sodom, das Haus umringten, jung und alt, das ganze Volk bis auf den letzten Mann.
5Und sie riefen nach Lot und sprachen zu ihm: "Wo sind die Männer, die heute abend zu dir gekommen sind? Bring sie uns heraus, damit wir sie erkennen!"
6Da ging Lot zu ihnen vor die Tür hinaus; die Tür aber verschloß er hinter sich.
7Und er sprach: "Meine Brüder, tut doch nichts so Unnatürliches!
8Da habe ich zwei Töchter, die noch keinen Mann erkannt haben, sie will ich zu euch bringen. Tut an ihnen, was euch beliebt. Doch diesen Männern dürft ihr nichts tun; denn darum sind sie in meines Daches Schatten getreten."
9Da schrien sie: "Pack dich weg!" und sagten: "Kam einer als Gast und Richter zugleich? Jetzt tun wir dir noch übler als jenen." Und sie drangen hart auf den Mann, auf Lot, ein und gingen daran, die Tür zu erbrechen.
10Da griffen die Männer hinaus, zogen Lot zu sich ins Haus, nachdem sie die Tür abgeschlossen hatten.
11Die Leute am Hauseingang aber hatten sie mit Blindheit geschlagen, klein und groß, und so konnten sie die Tür nicht finden.
12Die Männer aber sprachen zu Lot: "Hast du noch jemanden hier? Etwa einen Schwiegersohn, deine Söhne und deine Töchter? All die Deinen in der Stadt führe von diesem Ort weg!
13Denn wir vertilgen diese Stätte, weil der Klageschrei wider sie vor dem Herrn mächtig geworden. Darum sandte uns der Herr, sie zu verderben."
14Da ging Lot hinaus und redete mit seinen Schwiegersöhnen, die seine Töchter geheiratet, und sprach: "Auf! Fort aus diesem Ort! Der Herr will diese Stadt vertilgen!" Aber er schien seinen Schwiegersöhnen zu scherzen.
15Nach Anbruch der Morgenröte aber drängten die Engel Lot und sprachen: "Auf! Nimm dein Weib und diese deine beiden Töchter hier, daß du nicht weggerafft wirst ob der Missetat der Stadt!"
16Als er zögerte, griffen die Männer ihn, sein Weib und seine beiden Töchter an der Hand, weil der Herr ihn schonen wollte; sie führten ihn fort und ließen ihn erst draußen vor der Stadt los.
17Während sie sie hinausführten, sprach einer: "Flüchte dich um deines Lebens willen! Schau dich nicht um! Bleib nirgends in der Niederung stehen! Flieh ins Gebirge, daß du nicht weggerafft wirst!"
18Lot aber sprach zu ihnen: "Nicht so, Herr!
19Dein Knecht hat nun einmal Gnade bei dir gefunden; groß Erbarmen hast du mir erwiesen, mir das Leben zu retten; aber ich kann nicht ins Gebirge fliehen. Dann aber könnte mich das Verderben ereilen, daß ich stürbe!
20Siehe, diese Stadt ist nahe genug, hineinzuflüchten, und nur ein kleines Stück ist's noch. Dahin könnte ich mich flüchten. Es ist ja nur noch ein kleines Stück; dann könnte ich am Leben bleiben."
21Er sprach zu ihm: "Wohlan, ich nehme auch darin Rücksicht auf dich und will diese Stadt, von der du sprichst, nicht zerstören.
22Flieh eilends dorthin! Denn ich kann nichts tun, bis du dorthin kommst." Deshalb nannte man die Stadt Soar.
23Eben war die Sonne aufgegangen; da kam Lot nach Soar.
24Der Herr aber ließ auf Sodom und Gomorrha Schwefel und Feuer regnen, vom Herrn her, vom Himmel herab.
25Und er vernichtete diese Städte, die ganze Niederung und alle Insassen der Städte und das Gewächs des Feldes.
26Sein Weib aber schaute hinter sich und ward zu einer Salzsäule.
27Abraham begab sich nun in der Frühe an die Stätte, wo er vor dem Herrn gestanden.
28Und er schaute auf Sodom und Gomorrha hinab und auf das ganze Land der Niederung; da sah er, wie ein Qualm vom Lande aufstieg, wie eines Schmelzofens Qualm.
29So war es, als Gott die Städte der Niederung zerstörte; dabei gedachte Gott Abrahams und schickte Lot aus dem Bereich der Zerstörung weg, als er die Städte, in denen Lot gewohnt, zerstörte.
30Lot zog dann von Soar hinauf und wohnte im Gebirge mit seinen beiden Töchtern; denn er fürchtete sich, in Soar zu bleiben. So wohnte er in einer Höhle mit seinen beiden Töchtern.
31Da sprach die Ältere zu der jüngeren: "Unser Vater ist alt, und auf Erden gibt es niemand mehr, der Umgang mit uns haben könnte nach aller Welt Brauch.
32Komm, wir wollen unserem Vater Wein zu trinken geben und uns zu ihm legen, daß wir durch unseren Vater unseren Stamm erhalten!"
33Da gaben sie ihrem Vater in jener Nacht Wein zu trinken; dann ging die Ältere hinein und schlief bei ihrem Vater; er aber merkte nicht, wie sie sich legte, noch wie sie aufstand.
34Am Tage darauf sprach die Ältere zur Jüngeren: "Siehe, ich habe heute nacht bei meinem Vater geschlafen; wir wollen ihm auch diese Nacht Wein zu trinken geben. Dann geh hinein und schlaf bei ihm, daß wir durch unseren Vater unseren Stamm erhalten!"
35Und sie gaben ihrem Vater auch an diesem Abend Wein zu trinken; dann ging die Jüngere hin und schlief bei ihm; er aber merkte nicht, wie sie sich legte, noch wie sie aufstand.
36Also kamen die beiden Töchter Lots durch ihren Vater in Hoffnung.
37Und die Ältere gebar einen Sohn und nannte ihn Moab; das ist der Stammvater der heutigen Moabiter.
38Auch die jüngere gebar einen Sohn und sie nannte ihn Ben Ammi; das ist der Stammvater der heutigen Ammoniter.

1LLEGARON, pues, los dos ángeles á Sodoma á la caída de la tarde: y Lot estaba sentado á la puerta de Sodoma. Y viéndolos Lot, levantóse á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia el suelo;
2Y dijo: Ahora, pues, mis señores, os ruego que vengáis á casa de vuestro siervo y os hospedéis, y lavaréis vuestros pies: y por la mañana os levantaréis, y seguiréis vuestro camino. Y ellos respondieron: No, que en la plaza nos quedaremos esta noche.
3Mas él porfió con ellos mucho, y se vinieron con él, y entraron en su casa; é hízoles banquete, y coció panes sin levadura, y comieron.
4Y antes que se acostasen, cercaron la casa los hombres de la ciudad, los varones de Sodoma, todo el pueblo junto, desde el más joven hasta el más viejo;
5Y llamaron á Lot, y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron á ti esta noche? sácanoslos, para que los conozcamos.
6Entonces Lot salió á ellos á la puerta, y cerró las puertas tras sí,
7Y dijo: Os ruego, hermanos míos, que no hagáis tal maldad.
8He aquí ahora yo tengo dos hijas que no han conocido varón; os las sacaré afuera, y haced de ellas como bien os pareciere: solamente á estos varones no hagáis nada, pues que vinieron á la sombra de mi tejado.
9Y ellos respondieron: Quita allá: y añadieron: Vino éste aquí para habitar como un extraño, ¿y habrá de erigirse en juez? Ahora te haremos más mal que á ellos. Y hacían gran violencia al varón, á Lot, y se acercaron para romper las puertas.
10Entonces los varones alargaron la mano, y metieron á Lot en casa con ellos, y cerraron las puertas.
11Y á los hombres que estaban á la puerta de la casa desde el menor hasta el mayor, hirieron con ceguera; mas ellos se fatigaban por hallar la puerta.
12Y dijeron los varones á Lot: ¿Tienes aquí alguno más? Yernos, y tus hijos y tus hijas, y todo lo que tienes en la ciudad, sácalo de este lugar:
13Porque vamos á destruir este lugar, por cuanto el clamor de ellos ha subido de punto delante de Jehová; por tanto Jehová nos ha enviado para destruirlo.
14Entonces salió Lot, y habló á sus yernos, los que habían de tomar sus hijas, y les dijo: Levantaos, salid de este lugar; porque Jehová va á destruir esta ciudad. Mas pareció á sus yernos como que se burlaba.
15Y al rayar el alba, los ángeles daban prisa á Lot, diciendo: Levántate, toma tu mujer, y tus dos hijas que se hallan aquí, porque no perezcas en el castigo de la ciudad.
16Y deteniéndose él, los varones asieron de su mano, y de la mano de su mujer, y de las manos de sus dos hijas, según la misericordia de Jehová para con él; y le sacaron, y le pusieron fuera de la ciudad.
17Y fué que cuando los hubo sacado fuera, dijo: Escapa por tu vida; no mires tras ti, ni pares en toda esta llanura; escapa al monte, no sea que perezcas.
18Y Lot les dijo: No, yo os ruego, señores míos;
19He aquí ahora ha hallado tu siervo gracia en tus ojos, y has engrandecido tu misericordia que has hecho conmigo dándome la vida; mas yo no podré escapar al monte, no sea caso que me alcance el mal, y muera.
20He aquí ahora esta ciudad está cerca para huir allá, la cual es pequeña; escaparé ahora allá, (¿no es ella pequeña?) y vivirá mi alma.
21Y le respondió: He aquí he recibido también tu súplica sobre esto, y no destruiré la ciudad de que has hablado.
22Date priesa, escápate allá; porque nada podré hacer hasta que allí hayas llegado. Por esto fué llamado el nombre de la ciudad, Zoar.
23El sol salía sobre la tierra, cuando Lot llegó á Zoar.
24Entonces llovió Jehová sobre Sodoma y sobre Gomorra azufre y fuego de parte de Jehová desde los cielos;
25Y destruyó las ciudades, y toda aquella llanura, con todos los moradores de aquellas ciudades, y el fruto de la tierra.
26Entonces la mujer de Lot miró atrás, á espaldas de él, y se volvió estatua de sal.
27Y subió Abraham por la mañana al lugar donde había estado delante de Jehová:
28Y miró hacia Sodoma y Gomorra, y hacia toda la tierra de aquella llanura miró; y he aquí que el humo subía de la tierra como el humo de un horno.
29Así fué que, cuando destruyó Dios las ciudades de la llanura, acordóse Dios de Abraham, y envió fuera á Lot de en medio de la destrucción, al asolar las ciudades donde Lot estaba.
30Empero Lot subió de Zoar, y asentó en el monte, y sus dos hijas con él; porque tuvo miedo de quedar en Zoar, y se alojó en una cueva él y sus dos hijas.
31Entonces la mayor dijo á la menor: Nuestro padre es viejo, y no queda varón en la tierra que entre á nosotras conforme á la costumbre de toda la tierra:
32Ven, demos á beber vino á nuestro padre, y durmamos con él, y conservaremos de nuestro padre generación.
33Y dieron á beber vino á su padre aquella noche: y entró la mayor, y durmió con su padre; mas él no sintió cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.
34El día siguiente dijo la mayor á la menor: He aquí yo dormí la noche pasada con mi padre; démosle á beber vino también esta noche, y entra y duerme con él, para que conservemos de nuestro padre generación.
35Y dieron á beber vino á su padre también aquella noche: y levantóse la menor, y durmió con él; pero no echó de ver cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.
36Y concibieron las dos hijas de Lot, de su padre.
37Y parió la mayor un hijo, y llamó su nombre Moab, el cual es padre de los Moabitas hasta hoy.
38La menor también parió un hijo, y llamó su nombre Ben-ammí, el cual es padre de los Ammonitas hasta hoy.

1And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
10But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
19Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
28And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
30And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.
38And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Ben-ammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

1The two angels came to Sodom at evening. Lot sat in the gate of Sodom. Lot saw them, and rose up to meet them. He bowed himself with his face to the earth,
2and he said, “See now, my lords, please come into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we will stay in the street all night.”
3He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. He made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter.
5They called to Lot, and said to him, “Where are the men who came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may have sex with them.”
6Lot went out to them through the door, and shut the door after himself.
7He said, “Please, my brothers, don’t act so wickedly.
8See now, I have two virgin daughters. Please let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them what seems good to you. Only don’t do anything to these men, because they have come under the shadow of my roof.”
9They said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one fellow came in to live as a foreigner, and he appoints himself a judge. Now we will deal worse with you than with them!” They pressed hard on the man Lot, and came near to break the door.
10But the men reached out their hand, and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
11They struck the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12The men said to Lot, “Do you have anybody else here? Sons-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:
13for we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown so great before the LORD that the LORD has sent us to destroy it.”
14Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said, “Get up! Get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city!” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be joking.
15When the morning came, then the angels hurried Lot, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the iniquity of the city.”
16But he lingered; and the men grabbed his hand, his wife’s hand, and his two daughters’ hands, the LORD being merciful to him; and they took him out, and set him outside of the city.
17It came to pass, when they had taken them out, that he said, “Escape for your life! Don’t look behind you, and don’t stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be consumed!”
18Lot said to them, “Oh, not so, my lord.
19See now, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your loving kindness, which you have shown to me in saving my life. I can’t escape to the mountain, lest evil overtake me, and I die.
20See now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a little one. Oh let me escape there (isn’t it a little one?), and my soul will live.”
21He said to him, “Behold, I have granted your request concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.
22Hurry, escape there, for I can’t do anything until you get there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar.
24Then the LORD rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of the sky.
25He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew on the ground.
26But Lot’s wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27Abraham went up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD.
28He looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and saw that the smoke of the land went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29When God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.
30Lot went up out of Zoar, and lived in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to live in Zoar. He lived in a cave with his two daughters.
31The firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in to us in the way of all the earth.
32Come, let’s make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s family line.”
33They made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34It came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let’s make him drink wine again tonight. You go in, and lie with him, that we may preserve our father’s family line.”
35They made their father drink wine that night also. The younger went and lay with him. He didn’t know when she lay down, nor when she got up.
36Thus both of Lot’s daughters were with child by their father.
37The firstborn bore a son, and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38The younger also bore a son, and called his name Ben Ammi. He is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.
