Génesis 18

Y él Señor vino a él junto al árbol santo de Mamre, cuando estaba sentado a la entrada de su tienda al mediodía;

Y APARECIÓLE Jehová en el valle de Mamre, estando él sentado á la puerta de su tienda en el calor del día.

And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

The LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day.

Y alzando los ojos, vio tres hombres ante él; y viéndolos, se dirigió rápidamente a ellos desde la puerta de la tienda, y se postró rostro en tierra;

Y alzó sus ojos y miró, y he aquí tres varones que estaban junto á él: y cuando los vió, salió corriendo de la puerta de su tienda á recibirlos, é inclinóse hacia la tierra,

And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

He lifted up his eyes and looked, and saw that three men stood near him. When he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth,

Y dijo: Mi Señor, si ahora tengo gracia en tus ojos, no te vayas de tu siervo:

Y dijo: Señor, si ahora he hallado gracia en tus ojos, ruégote que no pases de tu siervo.

And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

and said, “My lord, if now I have found favor in your sight, please don’t go away from your servant.

Déjame tomar agua para lavar tus pies, y descansa bajo el árbol:

Que se traiga ahora un poco de agua, y lavad vuestros pies; y recostaos debajo de un árbol,

Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

Now let a little water be fetched, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

Y permítame obtener un poco de pan para mantener tu fuerza, y después de eso puedes seguir tu camino; porque es por esto que has venido a tu siervo. Y ellos dijeron: Deja que así sea.

Y traeré un bocado de pan, y sustentad vuestro corazón; después pasaréis: porque por eso habéis pasado cerca de vuestro siervo. Y ellos dijeron: Haz así como has dicho.

And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

I will get a piece of bread so you can refresh your heart. After that you may go your way, now that you have come to your servant.” They said, “Very well, do as you have said.”

Entonces Abraham fue rápidamente a la tienda y le dijo a Sara: Toma tres medidas de harina enseguida y haz tortas.

Entonces Abraham fué de priesa á la tienda á Sara, y le dijo: Toma presto tres medidas de flor de harina, amasa y haz panes cocidos debajo del rescoldo.

And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, “Quickly prepare three seahs of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes.”

Y corriendo a la manada, tomó un buey joven, suave y gordo, y lo dio al siervo y él lo preparó rápidamente;

Y corrió Abraham á las vacas, y tomó un becerro tierno y bueno, y diólo al mozo, y dióse éste priesa á aderezarlo.

And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

Abraham ran to the herd, and fetched a tender and good calf, and gave it to the servant. He hurried to dress it.

Y tomó la manteca, la leche y el becerro que había preparado, y lo puso delante de ellos, esperándolos debajo del árbol mientras comían.

Tomó también manteca y leche, y el becerro que había aderezado, y púsolo delante de ellos; y él estaba junto á ellos debajo del árbol; y comieron.

And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Y ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer? Y él dijo: Ella está en la tienda.

Y le dijeron: ¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer? Y él respondió: Aquí en la tienda.

And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

They asked him, “Where is Sarah, your wife?” He said, “There, in the tent.”

Y dijo: De cierto volveré a ti en la primavera, y Sara tu mujer tendrá un hijo. Y sus palabras llegaron a los oídos de Sara que estaba en la parte posterior de la puerta de la tienda.

Entonces dijo: De cierto volveré á ti según el tiempo de la vida, y he aquí, tendrá un hijo Sara tu mujer. Y Sara escuchaba á la puerta de la tienda, que estaba detrás de él.

And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

He said, “I will certainly return to you at about this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.” Sarah heard in the tent door, which was behind him.

Ahora Abraham y Sara eran muy viejos, y Sara ya había pasado el tiempo de dar a luz.

Y Abraham y Sara eran viejos, entrados en días: á Sara había cesado ya la costumbre de las mujeres.

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age. Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.

Y Sara, riendo para sí misma, dijo: Ahora que estoy agotada, ¿todavía tengo placer, mi marido mismo siendo viejo?

Rióse, pues, Sara entre sí, diciendo: ¿Después que he envejecido tendré deleite, siendo también mi señor ya viejo?

Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old will I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

Y él Señor dijo: ¿Por qué se rió Sara, y dijo: ¿Es posible que yo, siendo viejo, dé a luz un niño?

Entonces Jehová dijo á Abraham: ¿Por qué se ha reído Sara diciendo: Será cierto que he de parir siendo ya vieja?

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

The LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Will I really bear a child when I am old?’

. ¿Hay alguna maravilla que el Señor no pueda hacer? En el momento en que dije, en la primavera, volveré contigo, y Sara tendrá un hijo.

¿Hay para Dios alguna cosa difícil? Al tiempo señalado volveré á ti, según el tiempo de la vida, y Sara tendrá un hijo.

Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes around, and Sarah will have a son.”

Entonces Sara dijo: No me estaba riendo; porque ella estaba llena de miedo. Y él dijo: No, pero te estabas riendo.

Entonces Sara negó diciendo: No me reí; porque tuvo miedo. Y él dijo: No es así, sino que te has reído.

Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

Then Sarah denied it, saying, “I didn’t laugh,” for she was afraid. He said, “No, but you did laugh.”

Y los hombres continuaron desde allí en dirección a Sodoma; y Abraham fue con ellos en su camino.

Y los varones se levantaron de allí, y miraron hacia Sodoma: y Abraham iba con ellos acompañándolos.

And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

The men rose up from there, and looked toward Sodom. Abraham went with them to see them on their way.

Y el Señor dijo: ¿Debo ocultarle a Abraham lo que hago?

Y Jehová dijo: ¿Encubriré yo á Abraham lo que voy á hacer,

And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

The LORD said, “Will I hide from Abraham what I do,

. Al ver que Abraham ciertamente se convertirá en una nación grande y fuerte, y todas las naciones de la tierra usarán su nombre como una bendición.

Habiendo de ser Abraham en una nación grande y fuerte, y habiendo de ser benditas en él todas las gentes de la tierra?

Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

since Abraham will surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in him?

Porque le he hecho mío para que dé orden a sus hijos y a los de su línea después de él, que guarden los caminos del Señor, para hacer lo que es bueno y justo: para que el Señor haga a Abraham como él ha dicho.

Porque yo lo he conocido, sé que mandará á sus hijos y á su casa después de sí, que guarden el camino de Jehová, haciendo justicia y juicio, para que haga venir Jehová sobre Abraham lo que ha hablado acerca de él.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.”

Y él Señor dijo: Porque el clamor contra Sodoma y Gomorra es muy grande, y su pecado es muy malo,

Entonces Jehová le dijo: Por cuanto el clamor de Sodoma y Gomorra se aumenta más y más, y el pecado de ellos se ha agravado en extremo,

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

The LORD said, “Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,

Bajaré ahora, y veré si sus actos son tan malos como parecen por el clamor que ha venido a mí; y si no lo son, lo veré.

Descenderé ahora, y veré si han consumado su obra según el clamor que ha venido hasta mí; y si no, saberlo he.

I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

I will go down now, and see whether their deeds are as bad as the reports which have come to me. If not, I will know.”

Y los hombres, volviéndose de aquel lugar, fueron a Sodoma, pero Abraham aún estaba esperando delante del Señor.

Y apartáronse de allí los varones, y fueron hacia Sodoma: mas Abraham estaba aún delante de Jehová.

And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.

The men turned from there, and went toward Sodom, but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.

Y Abraham se acercó, y dijo: ¿Permitirás la destrucción a los rectos con los pecadores?

Y acercóse Abraham y dijo: ¿Destruirás también al justo con el impío?

And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

Abraham came near, and said, “Will you consume the righteous with the wicked?

Si por casualidad hay cincuenta hombres rectos en la ciudad, ¿destruirás el lugar y no tendrás piedad de él a causa de los cincuenta hombres rectos?

Quizá hay cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad: ¿destruirás también y no perdonarás al lugar por cincuenta justos que estén dentro de él?

Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?

Lejos esté esto de ti, para poner en pie a los rectos con el pecador: ¿No hará el juez de toda la tierra lo que es justo?

Lejos de ti el hacer tal, que hagas morir al justo con el impío, y que sea el justo tratado como el impío; nunca tal hagas. El juez de toda la tierra, ¿no ha de hacer lo que es justo?

That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

May it be far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Y él Señor dijo: Si hay cincuenta hombres rectos en la ciudad, tendré misericordia de ellos por causa de ellos.

Entonces respondió Jehová: Si hallare en Sodoma cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad, perdonaré á todo este lugar por amor de ellos.

And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

The LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

Y respondiendo Abraham, dijo: Verdaderamente, yo que soy solo polvo, me he comprometido a poner mis pensamientos delante del Señor;

Y Abraham replicó y dijo: He aquí ahora que he comenzado á hablar á mi Señor, aunque soy polvo y ceniza:

And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

Abraham answered, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, although I am dust and ashes.

Si por casualidad hay cinco menos de cincuenta hombres rectos, ¿abandonarás toda la ciudad a la destrucción por causa de estos cinco? Y él dijo: No lo entregaré a la destrucción si son cuarenta y cinco.

Quizá faltarán de cincuenta justos cinco: ¿destruirás por aquellos cinco toda la ciudad? Y dijo: No la destruiré, si hallare allí cuarenta y cinco.

Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?” He said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”

Y otra vez le dijo: Por casualidad, allí hay cuarenta. Y él dijo: No lo haré por misericordia a los cuarenta.

Y volvió á hablarle, y dijo: Quizá se hallarán allí cuarenta. Y respondió: No lo haré por amor de los cuarenta.

And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty’s sake.

He spoke to him yet again, and said, “What if there are forty found there?” He said, “I will not do it for the forty’s sake.”

Y dijo: No se enoje él Señor contra mí si digo: ¿Y si hay treinta allí? Y él dijo: No lo haré si hay treinta.

Y dijo: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare: quizá se hallarán allí treinta. Y respondió: No lo haré si hallare allí treinta.

And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

He said, “Oh don’t let the Lord be angry, and I will speak. What if there are thirty found there?” He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

Y él dijo: Mira ahora, me he comprometido a poner mis pensamientos delante del Señor: ¿y si hay veinte allí? Y él dijo: Tendré misericordia por los veinte.

Y dijo: He aquí ahora que he emprendido el hablar á mi Señor: quizá se hallarán allí veinte. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los veinte.

And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty’s sake.

He said, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord. What if there are twenty found there?” He said, “I will not destroy it for the twenty’s sake.”

Y él dijo: No se enoje él Señor, y diré una sola palabra más: por casualidad puede haber diez allí. Y él dijo: Tendré misericordia por los diez.

Y volvió á decir: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare solamente una vez: quizá se hallarán allí diez. No la destruiré, respondió, por amor de los diez.

And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.

He said, “Oh don’t let the Lord be angry, and I will speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He said, “I will not destroy it for the ten’s sake.”

Y el Señor siguió su camino cuando su conversación con Abraham terminó, y Abraham regresó a su lugar.

Y fuése Jehová, luego que acabó de hablar á Abraham: y Abraham se volvió á su lugar.

And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

The LORD went his way as soon as he had finished communing with Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.
