Cuando Abram tenía noventa y nueve años, el Señor se le apareció y le dijo: ―Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso. Vive siempre de acuerdo con mi voluntad y haz lo correcto,
Y SIENDO Abram de edad de noventa y nueve años, aparecióle Jehová, y le dijo: Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; anda delante de mí, y sé perfecto.
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be blameless.
y yo te prometo que te daré una descendencia numerosísima.
Y pondré mi pacto entre mí y ti, y multiplicarte he mucho en gran manera.
And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
Entonces Abram se inclinó hasta tocar el suelo con su frente. Dios, por su parte, continuó diciéndole:

And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

―El pacto que voy a hacer contigo es este: Serás el padre de muchas naciones.
Yo, he aquí mi pacto contigo: Serás padre de muchedumbre de gentes:
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
“As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations.
Además, a partir de hoy ya no te llamarás Abram (Padre Excelso), sino Abraham (Padre de Naciones), porque haré que seas el padre de muchas naciones.
Y no se llamará más tu nombre Abram, sino que será tu nombre Abraham, porque te he puesto por padre de muchedumbre de gentes.
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Your name will no more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
Te daré muchísimos descendientes, de modo que de ti saldrán reyes y naciones.
Y multiplicarte he mucho en gran manera, y te pondré en gentes, y reyes saldrán de ti.
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you. Kings will come out of you.
Contigo y con tus descendientes haré un pacto que durará para siempre. Debido a este pacto, yo seré tu Dios y el Dios de tus descendientes.
Y estableceré mi pacto entre mí y ti, y tu simiente después de ti en sus generaciones, por alianza perpetua, para serte á ti por Dios, y á tu simiente después de ti.
And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your offspring after you.
A ti y a tus descendientes les regalaré para siempre toda la tierra de Canaán, es decir, la tierra en que estás viviendo ahora. Y yo seré su Dios.
Y te daré á ti, y á tu simiente después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán en heredad perpetua; y seré el Dios de ellos.
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
I will give to you, and to your offspring after you, the land where you are traveling, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. I will be their God.”
Además Dios dijo a Abraham: ―A través de todos los tiempos, tú y tus descendientes deberán obedecer este pacto: todos los varones que haya en tu pueblo deberán ser circuncidados.
Dijo de nuevo Dios á Abraham: Tú empero guardarás mi pacto, tú y tu simiente después de ti por sus generaciones.
And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations.

Este será mi pacto, que guardaréis entre mí y vosotros y tu simiente después de ti: Será circuncidado todo varón de entre vosotros.
This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.

A cada varón le cortarán la carne de su prepucio. Esta será la señal de que tú y ellos aceptan mi pacto.
Circuncidaréis, pues, la carne de vuestro prepucio, y será por señal del pacto entre mí y vosotros.
And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

Todo varón será circuncidado al octavo día de su nacimiento. Esto se aplica tanto a los niños que nazcan en tu casa, como a aquellos que hayan sido comprados por dinero a algún extranjero. Este es un pacto que deberán obedecer siempre tus descendientes.
Y de edad de ocho días será circuncidado todo varón entre vosotros por vuestras generaciones: el nacido en casa, y el comprado á dinero de cualquier extranjero, que no fuere de tu simiente.
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

Todos, sin excepción, deben ser circuncidados. De esa manera todos los varones llevarán en su cuerpo la señal de mi pacto, que es un pacto que nunca se acabará.
Debe ser circuncidado el nacido en tu casa, y el comprado por tu dinero: y estará mi pacto en vuestra carne para alianza perpetua.
He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Cualquiera que no cumpla con las condiciones del pacto, es decir, que no sea circuncidado, será eliminado de mi pueblo, por haber desobedecido mi pacto.
Y el varón incircunciso que no hubiere circuncidado la carne de su prepucio, aquella persona será borrada de su pueblo; ha violado mi pacto.
And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

Dios también le dijo a Abraham: ―Tu esposa ya no se llamará Saray, sino Sara (Princesa).
Dijo también Dios á Abraham: A Sarai tu mujer no la llamarás Sarai, mas Sara será su nombre.
And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but her name shall be Sarah.
Yo la bendeciré y te daré un hijo de ella. La bendeciré tanto, que será madre de naciones y de reyes.
Y bendecirla he, y también te daré de ella hijo; sí, la bendeciré, y vendrá á ser madre de naciones; reyes de pueblos serán de ella.
And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she will be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her.”
Abraham se inclinó hasta tocar el suelo con su frente, y se rio de pensar que un hombre de cien años pudiera ser padre, y que Sara pudiera tener un hijo a los noventa años.
Entonces Abraham cayó sobre su rostro, y rióse, y dijo en su corazón: ¿A hombre de cien años ha de nacer hijo? ¿y Sara, ya de noventa años, ha de parir?
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, “Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?”
Por eso le dijo a Dios: ―¡Sería suficiente con que Ismael contara con tu bendición!
Y dijo Abraham á Dios: Ojalá Ismael viva delante de ti.
And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”
Dios le respondió: ―Lo que acabo de decirte es que tu esposa Sara te dará un hijo, al cual lo llamarás Isaac (Risa). Con él y con sus descendientes confirmaré mi pacto para siempre.
Y respondió Dios: Ciertamente Sara tu mujer te parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Isaac; y confirmaré mi pacto con él por alianza perpetua para su simiente después de él.
And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
God said, “No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.
En cuanto a Ismael, también te he oído y haré lo que me has pedido. Le daré una descendencia muy numerosa, y haré que de él salga una gran nación. Él será el padre de doce príncipes.
Y en cuanto á Ismael, también te he oído: he aquí que le bendeciré, y le haré fructificar y multiplicar mucho en gran manera: doce príncipes engendrará, y ponerlo he por gran gente.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
Pero mi pacto es con Isaac, el hijo que te dará Sara dentro de un año, por esta misma época.
Mas yo estableceré mi pacto con Isaac, al cual te parirá Sara por este tiempo el año siguiente.
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year.”
Terminada la conversación, Dios se fue.
Y acabó de hablar con él, y subió Dios de con Abraham.
And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
When he finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
Aquel mismo día Abraham tomó a su hijo Ismael y lo circuncidó. También tomó a los esclavos, tanto a los que habían nacido en su casa como a los que había comprado, y a todos los demás varones que había en su casa, y los circuncidó, tal como Dios le había dicho.
Entonces tomó Abraham á Ismael su hijo, y á todos los siervos nacidos en su casa, y á todos los comprados por su dinero, á todo varón entre los domésticos de la casa de Abraham, y circuncidó la carne del prepucio de ellos en aquel mismo día, como Dios le había dicho.
And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

También, ese mismo día, fueron circuncidados todos los varones que había en su casa, tanto los que habían nacido en ella como los que le había comprado a extranjeros.
Y todos los varones de su casa, el siervo nacido en casa, y el comprado por dinero del extranjero, fueron circuncidados con él.
And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
