Y SIENDO Abram de edad de noventa y nueve años, aparecióle Jehová, y le dijo: Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; anda delante de mí, y sé perfecto.
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

E io fermerò la mia alleanza tra me, e te, e ti moltiplicherò grandemente oltre modo.

And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

Si gettò Abramo boccone per terra.
Entonces Abram cayó sobre su rostro, y Dios habló con él diciendo:

E dissegli Dio: Io sono, e il patto mio (sarà) con te, e sarai padre di molte genti.
Yo, he aquí mi pacto contigo: Serás padre de muchedumbre de gentes:
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
“As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations.
E non sarai più chiamato col nome di Abramo; ma sarai detto Abrahamo: perocché io ti ho destinato padre di molte genti.
Y no se llamará más tu nombre Abram, sino que será tu nombre Abraham, porque te he puesto por padre de muchedumbre de gentes.
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Your name will no more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
E ti farò crescere formisura, e ti farò padre di popoli, e da te usciranno de' regi.
Y multiplicarte he mucho en gran manera, y te pondré en gentes, y reyes saldrán de ti.
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

E io fermerò il mio patto fra me, e te: e col seme tuo dopo di te nelle tue generazioni con sempiterna alleanza: ond'io sia Dio tuo, e del seme tuo dopo di te.
Y estableceré mi pacto entre mí y ti, y tu simiente después de ti en sus generaciones, por alianza perpetua, para serte á ti por Dios, y á tu simiente después de ti.
And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

E di nuovo disse Dio ad Abramo: Tu adunque osserverai il mio patto, e dopo di te il tuo seme nelle sue generazioni.

And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

E Dio disse ancora ad Abramo: Non chiamerai più la tua moglie col nome di Sarai, ma sì di Sara.
Dijo también Dios á Abraham: A Sarai tu mujer no la llamarás Sarai, mas Sara será su nombre.
And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but her name shall be Sarah.
E io la benedirò, e di lei darò a te un figliuolo, a cui io darò benedizione: ed ei sarà capo di nazioni, e da lui usciranno regi di popoli.

Abramo si gettò boccone per terra, e rise, dicendo in cuor suo: Possibile, che nasca un figliuolo a un uomo di cento anni? e che Sara partorisca a novanta?
Entonces Abraham cayó sobre su rostro, y rióse, y dijo en su corazón: ¿A hombre de cien años ha de nacer hijo? ¿y Sara, ya de noventa años, ha de parir?
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

E disse a lui: Di grazia, viva Ismaele dinanzi a te.

And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

E disse Dio ad Abramo: Sara tua moglie ti partorirà un figliuolo, e gli porrai nome Isaac; e fermerò con lui il mio patto per un'alleanza sempiterna, e col seme di lui dopo di esso.
Y respondió Dios: Ciertamente Sara tu mujer te parirá un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Isaac; y confirmaré mi pacto con él por alianza perpetua para su simiente después de él.
And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
God said, “No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.
Ti ho anche esaudito riguardo a Ismaele, e lo amplificherò, e moltiplicherò grandemente: ei genererà dodici condottieri, e farollo crescere in una nazione grande.
Y en cuanto á Ismael, también te he oído: he aquí que le bendeciré, y le haré fructificar y multiplicar mucho en gran manera: doce príncipes engendrará, y ponerlo he por gran gente.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

E finito che ebbe di parlare con lui, si tolse Dio dalla vista di Abramo.
Y acabó de hablar con él, y subió Dios de con Abraham.
And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Abramo adunque prese Ismaele suo figliuolo, e tutti i servi nati nella sua casa: e tutti quelli che avea comperati, tutti quanti i maschi di sua casa, e li circoncise immediatamente lo stesso giorno, conforme Dio gli avea ordinato.
Entonces tomó Abraham á Ismael su hijo, y á todos los siervos nacidos en su casa, y á todos los comprados por su dinero, á todo varón entre los domésticos de la casa de Abraham, y circuncidó la carne del prepucio de ellos en aquel mismo día, como Dios le había dicho.

E tutti gli uomini di quella casa, tanto quei che in essa eran nati, come quei che erano stati comperati, e gli stranieri furono circoncisi ad un tempo. Tre Angeli accolti da Abramo come ospiti promettono un figliuolo di Sara; e questa perciò avendo riso, ne è ripresa. Predizione della rovina di Sodoma, per cui Abramo prega più volte.
