O mundo tinha uma só língua e uma só maneira de falar.

ERA entonces toda la tierra de una lengua y unas mismas palabras.

Partindo eles do oriente, acharam uma planície na terra de Sinar e se estabeleceram ali.

E disseram uns aos outros: "Vinde, façamos tijolos e queimemo-los completamente". Eles usaram tijolos em vez de pedras, e o piche como argamassa.

Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

E disseram: "Vinde, construamos uma cidade para nós, uma torre cujo topo alcance o céu, e façamos para nós um nome, a fim de que não nos espalhemos sobre a superfície da terra".

Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

E desceu Yahweh para ver a cidade e a torre que os filhos dos homens edificaram.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

Yahweh disse: "Eis que todos são um só povo e falam uma só língua. Isso é o que começaram a fazer; agora não haverá restrição alguma para tudo o que intentarem fazer.

Y dijo Jehová: He aquí el pueblo es uno, y todos éstos tienen un lenguaje: y han comenzado á obrar, y nada les retraerá ahora de lo que han pensando hacer.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Vinde, desçamos e confundamos ali a sua língua, para que não entendam uns aos outros".

Ahora pues, descendamos, y confundamos allí sus lenguas, para que ninguno entienda el habla de su compañero.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

E Yahweh os espalhou dali sobre toda a superfície da terra; e pararam de edificar a cidade.

Así los esparció Jehová desde allí sobre la faz de toda la tierra, y dejaron de edificar la ciudad.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

Por isso, foi chamada Babel, porque foi ali que Yahweh confundiu a língua de toda a terra e os espalhou sobre toda a face da terra.

Por esto fué llamado el nombre de ella Babel, porque allí confundió Jehová el lenguaje de toda la tierra, y desde allí los esparció sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Estas são as gerações de Sem. Ele tinha cem anos de idade, quando gerou Arfaxade, dois anos depois do dilúvio.

Arfaxade tinha trinta e cinco anos, quando gerou Selá.

Depois que gerou Selá, Arfaxade viveu quatrocentos e três anos; também gerou outros filhos e filhas.

Selá tinha trinta anos quando gerou Éber.

Y vivió Sala treinta años, y engendró á Heber.

Reú tinha trinta e dois anos quando gerou Serugue.

Serugue tinha trinta anos quando gerou Naor.

Naor tinha vinte e nove anos quando gerou Terá.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

Naor viveu cento e dezenove anos depois que gerou Terá.

Y vivió Nachôr, después que engendró á Thare, ciento diecinueve años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

Terá tinha setenta anos quando gerou Abrão, Naor e Harã.

Y vivió Thare setenta años, y engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Estes são os descendentes de Terá. Terá gerou Abrão, Naor e Harã; e Harã gerou Ló.

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.

Harã morreu na presença do seu pai Terá, na terra de seu nascimento, em Ur dos caldeus.

Y murió Harán antes que su padre Thare en la tierra de su naturaleza, en Ur de los Caldeos.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees, while his father Terah was still alive.

Abrão e Naor tomaram mulheres para si. O nome da mulher de Abrão era Sarai e o nome da mulher de Naor era Milca; esta era filha de Harã, que foi pai de Milca e de Iscá.

Y tomaron Abram y Nachôr para sí mujeres: el nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nachôr, Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca y de Isca.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, who was also the father of Iscah.

Sarai era estéril: não tinha filhos.

Terá tomou seu filho Abrão e Ló, filho de seu filho, e a Sarai, sua nora, mulher de seu filho Abrão. E juntos deixaram Ur dos caldeus para ir à terra de Canaã.

Y tomó Thare á Abram su hijo, y á Lot hijo de Harán, hijo de su hijo, y á Sarai su nuera, mujer de Abram su hijo: y salió con ellos de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir á la tierra de Canaán: y vinieron hasta Harán, y asentaron allí.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Foram até Harã e se estabeleceram ali. Terá viveu duzentos e cinco anos e depois morreu em Harã.

Y fueron los días de Thare doscientos y cinco años; y murió Thare en Harán.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
