Und die ganze Erde hatte eine Sprache und einerlei Worte.

Und sie sprachen einer zum anderen: Wohlan, laßt uns Ziegel streichen und hart brennen! Und der Ziegel diente ihnen als Stein, und das Erdharz diente ihnen als Mörtel.

Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

Und sie sprachen: Wohlan, bauen wir uns eine Stadt und einen Turm, dessen Spitze an den Himmel reiche, und machen wir uns einen Namen, daß wir nicht zerstreut werden über die ganze Erde!

Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

Und Jehova fuhr hernieder, die Stadt und den Turm zu sehen, welche die Menschenkinder bauten.

Wohlan, laßt uns herniederfahren und ihre Sprache daselbst verwirren, daß sie einer des anderen Sprache nicht verstehen!

Ahora pues, descendamos, y confundamos allí sus lenguas, para que ninguno entienda el habla de su compañero.

Und Haran starb vor dem Angesicht seines Vaters Tarah, in dem Lande seiner Geburt, zu Ur in Chaldäa.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, who was also the father of Iscah.

Und Sarai war unfruchtbar, sie hatte kein Kind.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
