Un día se dijeron unos a otros: “Vengan, vamos a fabricar ladrillos y a cocerlos al fuego”. Así, usaron ladrillos en vez de piedras, y asfalto en vez de mezcla.
Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.
And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.
Luego dijeron: “Vengan, vamos a construir una ciudad y una torre que llegue hasta el cielo. Así nos haremos famosos y no andaremos dispersos por todo el mundo”.
Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.
And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”
Pero Yahvé bajó para ver la ciudad y la torre que los hombres estaban construyendo.

Harán murió en Ur de los caldeos, su tierra natal, mientras su padre Taré aún vivía.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

Pero Saray era estéril y no podía tener hijos.
