Y toda la tierra tenía un lenguaje y una lengua.

ERA entonces toda la tierra de una lengua y unas mismas palabras.

Y aconteció que en su vagar del oriente, llegaron a un lugar llano en la tierra de Sinar, y allí se hicieron su lugar de vida.

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

As they traveled east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.

Y se dijeron el uno al otro: Vamos, hagamos ladrillos, quemémoslos. Y tenían ladrillos por piedra, juntándolos con asfalto en vez de mezcla.

Y dijeron los unos á los otros: Vaya, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y fuéles el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el betún en lugar de mezcla.

And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.

Y ellos dijeron: Vamos, hagamos una ciudad, y una torre cuya cima subirá al cielo; y hagamos un gran nombre para nosotros mismos, para que no seamos vagabundos sobre la faz de la tierra.

Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

They said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let’s make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth.”

Y el Señor bajó a ver la ciudad y la torre que los hijos de los hombres estaban construyendo.

Y descendió Jehová para ver la ciudad y la torre que edificaban los hijos de los hombres.

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

Y el Señor dijo: Mira, todos son un pueblo y tienen todo un lenguaje; y esto es solo el comienzo de lo que pueden hacer: y ahora no será posible mantenerlos fuera de cualquier propósito de ellos.

Y dijo Jehová: He aquí el pueblo es uno, y todos éstos tienen un lenguaje: y han comenzado á obrar, y nada les retraerá ahora de lo que han pensando hacer.

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

The LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.

Vengan, bajemos y quitemos el sentido de su lenguaje, para que no se puedan comunicar el uno al otro.

Ahora pues, descendamos, y confundamos allí sus lenguas, para que ninguno entienda el habla de su compañero.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

Entonces él Señor Dios los envió a todas partes de la tierra; y dejaron de edificar su ciudad.

Así los esparció Jehová desde allí sobre la faz de toda la tierra, y dejaron de edificar la ciudad.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

So the LORD scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.

Así que se llamó Babel, porque allí el Señor quitó el sentido de todos los idiomas y desde allí el Señor los envió sobre toda la faz de la tierra.

Por esto fué llamado el nombre de ella Babel, porque allí confundió Jehová el lenguaje de toda la tierra, y desde allí los esparció sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Estas son las generaciones de Sem. Sem tenía cien años cuando se convirtió en el padre de Arfaxad, dos años después del gran diluvio de aguas;

These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

Y Arfaxad tenía treinta y cinco años cuando llegó a ser padre de Sala.

And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and became the father of Shelah.

Y después del nacimiento de Sala, Arfaxad vivió cuatrocientos y tres años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.

Y vivió Arphaxad, después que engendró á Sala, cuatrocientos y tres años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

Arpachshad lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Shelah, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

Y Sala tenía treinta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Heber.

Y vivió Sala treinta años, y engendró á Heber.

And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

Y después del nacimiento de Heber, Sala vivió cuatrocientos y tres años, y tuvo hijos e hijas:

And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

Shelah lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Eber, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

Y Heber tenía treinta y cuatro años cuando llegó a ser padre de Peleg:

Y vivió Heber treinta y cuatro años, y engendró á Peleg.

And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

Eber lived thirty-four years, and became the father of Peleg.

Y después del nacimiento de Peleg, Heber vivió cuatrocientos treinta años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.

And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

Y Peleg tenía treinta años cuando fue padre de Reu:

Y vivió Peleg treinta años, y engendró á Reu.

Y Reu tenía treinta y dos años cuando se convirtió en el padre de Serug:

Y después del nacimiento de Serug, Reu vivió por doscientos y siete años, y tuvo hijos e hijas:

And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

Y Serug tenía treinta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Nacor:

Y vivió Serug treinta años, y engendró á Nachôr.

And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

Serug lived thirty years, and became the father of Nahor.

Y después del nacimiento de Nacor, Serug vivió doscientos años y tuvo hijos e hijas.

Y vivió Serug, después que engendró á Nachôr, doscientos años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

Y Nacor tenía veintinueve años cuando llegó a ser padre de Taré.

Y vivió Nachôr veintinueve años, y engendró á Thare.

And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and became the father of Terah.

Y después del nacimiento de Taré, Nacor vivió por ciento diecinueve años, y tuvo hijos e hijas.

Y vivió Nachôr, después que engendró á Thare, ciento diecinueve años, y engendró hijos é hijas.

And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

Nahor lived one hundred nineteen years after he became the father of Terah, and became the father of more sons and daughters.

Y Taré tenía setenta años cuando llegó a ser padre de Abram, Nacor y Harán.

Y vivió Thare setenta años, y engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Estas son las generaciones de Taré: Taré fue el padre de Abram, Nacor y Harán; y Harán era el padre de Lot.

Estas son las generaciones de Thare: Thare engendró á Abram, y á Nachôr, y á Harán; y Harán engendró á Lot.

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.

Y la muerte vino a Harán cuando estaba con su padre Taré en la tierra de su nacimiento, Ur de los Caldeos.

Y murió Harán antes que su padre Thare en la tierra de su naturaleza, en Ur de los Caldeos.

And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees, while his father Terah was still alive.

Y tomaron Abram y Nacor para sí mujeres: la nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nacor: Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca e Isca.

Y tomaron Abram y Nachôr para sí mujeres: el nombre de la mujer de Abram fué Sarai, y el nombre de la mujer de Nachôr, Milca, hija de Harán, padre de Milca y de Isca.

And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, who was also the father of Iscah.

Y Sarai no tuvo hijos.

Mas Sarai fué estéril, y no tenía hijo.

But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

Y Taré tomó a Abram, su hijo, y a Lot, hijo de Harán, y a Sarai, su nuera, la mujer de su hijo Abram, y salieron de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir a la tierra de Canaán; y vinieron a Harán, y estuvieron allí por algún tiempo.

Y tomó Thare á Abram su hijo, y á Lot hijo de Harán, hijo de su hijo, y á Sarai su nuera, mujer de Abram su hijo: y salió con ellos de Ur de los Caldeos, para ir á la tierra de Canaán: y vinieron hasta Harán, y asentaron allí.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife. They went from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.

Y todos los años de la vida de Taré fueron doscientos cinco: y Taré llegó a su fin en Harán.

Y fueron los días de Thare doscientos y cinco años; y murió Thare en Harán.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

The days of Terah were two hundred five years. Terah died in Haran.
