Gálatas 4

Estoy diciendo que el heredero, mientras sea niño, no es diferente a un esclavo, aunque sea el dueño de toda la propiedad.

TAMBIÉN digo: Entre tanto que el heredero es niño, en nada difiere del siervo, aunque es señor de todo;

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all,

Pero él está bajo la tutela de tutores y administradores hasta que se cumpla la fecha establecida por su padre.

Mas está debajo de tutores y curadores hasta el tiempo señalado por el padre.

But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.

Así también, cuando nosotros éramos niños, estábamos esclavizados a los principios elementales del mundo.

Así también nosotros, cuando éramos niños, éramos siervos bajo los rudimentos del mundo.

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.

Pero cuando se cumplió el tiempo, Dios envió a Su Hijo, nacido de una mujer, nacido bajo la ley.

Mas venido el cumplimiento del tiempo, Dios envió su Hijo, hecho de mujer, hecho súbdito á la ley,

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,

Él hizo esto para redimir a aquellos bajo la ley, para que pudiéramos recibir adopción como hijos.

Para que redimiese á los que estaban debajo de la ley, á fin de que recibiésemos la adopción de hijos.

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as children.

Y porque ustedes son hijos, Dios ha enviado al Espíritu de su Hijo a nuestros corazones, el cual clama: "Abba, Padre."

Y por cuanto sois hijos, Dios envió el Espíritu de su Hijo en vuestros corazones, el cual clama: Abba, Padre.

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”

Así que ya no eres un esclavo, sino un hijo, y si eres un hijo, también eres un heredero por medio de Dios.

Así que ya no eres más siervo, sino hijo; y si hijo, también heredero de Dios por Cristo.

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Pero en aquel tiempo, cuando ustedes no conocían a Dios, ustedes fueron obligados a ser esclavos de aquellos, quienes por sus poderes naturales, no son dioses en lo absoluto.

Antes, en otro tiempo, no conociendo á Dios, servíais á los que por naturaleza no son dioses:

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.

Pero ahora que ustedes han llegado a conocer a Dios, o mejor dicho, que son conocidos por Dios, ¿cómo es posible que están regresando a los principios débiles y sin valor? ¿Quieren estar esclavizados de nuevo?

Mas ahora, habiendo conocido á Dios, ó más bien, siendo conocidos de Dios, ¿cómo os volvéis de nuevo á los flacos y pobres rudimentos, en los cuales queréis volver á servir?

But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?

Ustedes guardan días especiales, lunas nuevas, estaciones y años.

Guardáis los días, y los meses, y los tiempos, y los años.

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

You observe days, months, seasons, and years.

Siento temor por ustedes de que de alguna manera mi trabajo con ustedes pudo haber sido en vano.

Temo de vosotros, que no haya trabajado en vano en vosotros.

I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.

Les suplico, hermanos, háganse como yo, porque yo también me he hecho como ustedes. Ustedes no me hicieron ningún mal.

Hermanos, os ruego, sed como yo, porque yo soy como vosotros: ningún agravio me habéis hecho.

Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,

Pero ustedes saben que fue por una enfermedad física que yo prediqué el evangelio a ustedes la primera vez.

Que vosotros sabéis que por flaqueza de carne os anuncié el evangelio al principio:

Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.

Aunque mi condición física los puso a ustedes a prueba, ustedes no me despreciaron o rechazaron. Por lo contrario, ustedes me recibieron como si yo hubiera sido un ángel de Dios, como si hubiera sido Jesucristo mismo.

Y no desechasteis ni menospreciasteis mi tentación que estaba en mi carne: antes me recibisteis como á un ángel de Dios, como á Cristo Jesús.

And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn’t despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

¿Dónde, entonces, está su bendición ahora? Porque yo les testifico que, si fuese posible, ustedes se hubiesen sacado sus propios ojos para dármelos a mí.

¿Dónde está pues vuestra bienaventuranza? porque yo os doy testimonio que si se pudiera hacer, os hubierais sacado vuestros ojos para dármelos.

Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.

Entonces, ¿me he vuelto enemigo de ustedes porque les estoy diciendo la verdad?

¿Heme pues hecho vuestro enemigo, diciéndoos la verdad?

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?

Ellos son celosos para ganarlos a ustedes, pero no para ningún bien. Ellos quieren separarlos de mí, para que ustedes los prefieran a ellos.

Tienen celos de vosotros, pero no bien: antes os quieren echar fuera para que vosotros los celéis á ellos.

They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.

They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.

Siempre es bueno ser apasionado por una buena causa, y no solo cuando yo estoy presente con ustedes.

Bueno es ser celosos en bien siempre; y no solamente cuando estoy presente con vosotros.

But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.

Mis niñitos, otra vez estoy sufriendo dolores de parto por ustedes hasta que Jesucristo sea formado en ustedes.

Hijitos míos, que vuelvo otra vez á estar de parto de vosotros, hasta que Cristo sea formado en vosotros;

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—

Me gustaría estar ahí presente con ustedes ahora y cambiar mi tono, porque estoy perplejo con ustedes.

Querría cierto estar ahora con vosotros, y mudar mi voz; porque estoy perplejo en cuanto á vosotros.

I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.

Digánme, ustedes que desean estar bajo la ley, ¿no escuchan lo que dice la ley?

Decidme, los que queréis estar debajo de la ley, ¿no habéis oído la ley?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?

Porque está escrito que Abraham tuvo dos hijos, uno con la mujer esclava y otro con la mujer libre.

Porque escrito está que Abraham tuvo dos hijos; uno de la sierva, el otro de la libre.

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the servant, and one by the free woman.

Pero uno nació de la muchacha esclava según la carne, pero el otro nació de la mujer libre mediante una promesa.

Mas el de la sierva nació según la carne; pero el de la libre nació por la promesa.

But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

However, the son by the servant was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.

Estas cosas pueden ser interpretadas como una alegoría, pues estas dos mujeres representan dos pactos. Una de ellas es del Monte Sinaí y ella da a luz hijos que son esclavos. Esta es Agar.

Las cuales cosas son dichas por alegoría: porque estas mujeres son los dos pactos; el uno ciertamente del monte Sinaí, el cual engendró para servidumbre, que es Agar.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar.

Ahora Agar representa el Monte Sinaí en Arabia; y ella representa la actual Jerusalén, pues ella está en la esclavitud con sus hijos.

Porque Agar ó Sinaí es un monte de Arabia, el cual es conjunto á la que ahora es Jerusalem, la cual sirve con sus hijos.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.

Pero la Jerusalén que está arriba es libre, y ella es nuestra madre.

Mas la Jerusalem de arriba libre es; la cual es la madre de todos nosotros.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Por que está escrito: "ALÉGRATE, TÚ, ESTÉRIL, QUE NO DAS A LUZ. CLAMEN Y GRITEN DE ALEGRÍA, USTEDES QUE NO ESTÁN SUFRIENDO DOLORES DE PARTO. PORQUE LOS HIJOS DE LA MUJER ABANDONADA SON MÁS NUMEROSOS QUE LOS DE LA MUJER QUE TIENE ESPOSO."

Porque está escrito: Alégrate, estéril, que no pares: prorrumpe y clama, la que no estás de parto; porque más son los hijos de la dejada, que de la que tiene marido.

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who don’t bear. Break out and shout, you who don’t travail. For the desolate women have more children than her who has a husband.”

Pero ustedes, hermanos, como Isaac, son hijos de la promesa.

Así que, hermanos, nosotros como Isaac somos hijos de la promesa.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise.

En aquel tiempo, el que nació de acuerdo a la carne persiguió al que nació de acuerdo al Espíritu. Es lo mismo ahora.

Empero como entonces el que era engendrado según la carne, perseguía al que había nacido según el Espíritu, así también ahora.

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.

Pero, ¿qué dice la Escritura? "ECHA FUERA A LA MUCHACHA ESCLAVA Y A SU HIJO. PORQUE EL HIJO DE LA MUCHACHA ESCLAVA NO COMPARTIRÁ LA HERENCIA CON EL HIJO DE LA MUJER LIBRE."

Mas ¿qué dice la Escritura? Echa fuera á la sierva y á su hijo; porque no será heredero el hijo de la sierva con el hijo de la libre.

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

However, what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.”

Por lo tanto, hermanos, nosotros no somos hijos de una muchacha esclava, sino de la mujer libre.

De manera, hermanos, que no somos hijos de la sierva, mas de la libre.

So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman.
