Esdras 10

Während Esra also betete und unter Tränen vor dem Hause Gottes liegend sein Bekenntnis ablegte, versammelte sich bei ihm eine sehr grosse Gemeinde von Israeliten, Männer, Frauen und Kinder; denn das Volk weinte heftig.

Y ORANDO Esdras y confesando, llorando y postrándose delante de la casa de Dios, juntóse á él una muy grande multitud de Israel, hombres y mujeres y niños; y lloraba el pueblo con gran llanto.

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.

Und Sechanja, der Sohn Jehiels, vom Geschlechte Elam, hob an und sprach zu Esra: Wir haben unsrem Gott die Treue gebrochen, indem wir fremde Frauen aus den Völkern im Lande heimgeführt haben. Und doch gibt es auch jetzt noch eine Hoffnung für Israel.

Entonces respondió Sechânías hijo de Jehiel, de los hijos de Elam, y dijo á Esdras: Nosotros hemos prevaricado contra nuestro Dios, pues tomamos mujeres extranjeras de los pueblos de la tierra: mas hay aún esperanza para Israel sobre esto.

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

Lasst uns nun unsrem Gott geloben, alle unsre fremden Frauen und die von ihnen geboren sind, zu verstossen gemäss deinem Vorschlag, mein Herr, und dem Vorschlag derer, die das Gebot unsres Gottes fürchten, damit man nach dem Gesetz verfahre.

Da stand Esra auf und liess die Obersten der Priester und der Leviten und von ganz Israel schwören, nach diesem Wort zu tun, und sie schwuren.

Dann verliess Esra den Ort vor dem Hause Gottes und ging in die Zelle Johanans, des Sohnes Eljasibs, und blieb dort die Nacht über, ohne zu essen und zu trinken; denn er trauerte über den Frevel der aus der Verbannung Heimgekehrten.

Levantóse luego Esdras de delante la casa de Dios, y fuése á la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib: é ido allá, no comió pan ni bebió agua, porque se entristeció sobre la prevaricación de los de la transmigración.

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.

Da versammelten sich alle Männer Judas und Benjamins in Jerusalem binnen drei Tagen, das heisst am zwanzigsten Tage des neunten Monats, und das ganze Volk sass auf dem Platze vor dem Gotteshause, zitternd um der Angelegenheit willen und infolge des Regens.

Und Esra, der Priester, stand auf und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr habt euch versündigt; ihr habt fremde Frauen heimgeführt und damit die Schuld Israels noch grösser gemacht. (a) 5Mo 7:3

Da antwortete die ganze Gemeinde und sprach mit lauter Stimme: Ja, es ist unsre Pflicht, zu tun, wie du gesagt hast.

Aber des Volkes ist viel, und es ist Regenzeit, sodass man nicht hier draussen stehen kann. Die Angelegenheit ist auch nicht in ein, zwei Tagen abzumachen; denn wir haben uns in dieser Sache viel zuschulden kommen lassen.

Unsre Obersten mögen für die ganze Gemeinde tagen; dann sollen alle die in unsern Städten, die fremde Frauen heimgeführt haben, zu bestimmten Zeiten kommen und mit ihnen die Ältesten und Richter einer jeden Stadt, bis wir den glühenden Zorn unsres Gottes, der um dieser Sache willen entbrannt ist, von uns abgewendet haben.

Estén ahora nuestros príncipes, los de toda la congregación; y todos aquellos que en nuestras ciudades hubieren tomado mujeres extranjeras, vengan á tiempos aplazados, y con ellos los ancianos de cada ciudad, y los jueces de ellas, hasta que apartemos de nosotros el furor de la ira de nuestro Dios sobre esto.

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.

Nur Jonathan, der Sohn Asahels, und Jahseja, der Sohn Thikwas, traten dagegen auf, und Mesullam und der Levit Sabbethai unterstützten sie.

Fueron pues puestos sobre este negocio Jonathán hijo de Asael, y Jaazías hijo de Tikvah; y Mesullam y Sabethai, Levitas, les ayudaron.

Aber die aus der Verbannung Heimgekehrten führten den Vorschlag aus, und der Priester Esra erwählte sich Männer, die Familienhäupter der einzelnen Familien, und zwar alle mit Nennung des Namens, und diese hielten am ersten Tage des zehnten Monats Sitzung, um die Sache zu untersuchen,

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
