1»Du aber, Menschensohn, nimm dir ein scharfes Schwert; als Schermesser sollst du es für dich benutzen und mit ihm über dein Haupt und deinen Bart fahren. Sodann nimm dir eine Waage zum Abwägen und teile (die Haare) mit ihr ab:
2ein Drittel verbrenne im Feuer inmitten der Stadt, wenn die Tage der Belagerung voll sind; das zweite Drittel nimm und schlage es mit dem Schwert rings um die Stadt her; und das letzte Drittel verstreue in den Wind; ich will dann das Schwert hinter ihnen her zücken.
3Doch nimm von diesen eine kleine Anzahl und binde sie in deinen Rockzipfel ein;
4hierauf nimm auch von diesen nochmals einige, wirf sie mitten ins Feuer und laß sie im Feuer verbrennen: davon soll ein Feuer über das ganze Haus Israel ausgehen.«
5»Alsdann sage zum ganzen Hause Israel: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: So steht’s mit Jerusalem! Mitten unter die Heiden habe ich die Stadt gestellt und (deren) Länder rings um sie her.
6Aber sie ist gegen meine Gebote in gottloser Weise widerspenstig gewesen, ärger noch als die Heidenvölker, und gegen meine Satzungen ärger als die Länder rings um sie her; denn meine Gebote haben sie verachtet, und nach meinen Satzungen sind sie nicht gewandelt.
7Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: Weil ihr trotziger gewesen seid als die Heidenvölker rings um euch her, weil ihr euch in eurem Wandel nach meinen Satzungen nicht gerichtet und meine Gebote nicht befolgt habt, vielmehr nach den Geboten der Heidenvölker rings um euch her gehandelt habt,
8darum spricht Gott der HERR so: Fürwahr, auch ich will nun gegen dich vorgehen und will Gerichte in deiner Mitte vollstrecken vor den Augen der Heidenvölker!
9Und ich will um all deiner Greuel willen an dir tun, was ich noch nie getan habe und was ich in gleicher Weise auch nie wieder tun werde.
10Darum werden Väter in deiner Mitte ihre Kinder aufessen, und Kinder werden ihre Väter verzehren; und ich will Strafgerichte an dir vollstrecken und alles, was von dir noch übriggeblieben ist, in alle Winde zerstreuen!
11Darum, so wahr ich lebe!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –: ›fürwahr, weil du mein Heiligtum durch all deine scheußlichen Götzen und durch all deine Greuel verunreinigt hast, so will auch ich nun mein Auge von dir abwenden ohne Mitleid und will keine Schonung mehr üben!
12Der dritte Teil von dir soll an der Pest sterben und durch Hunger umkommen in deiner Mitte; das zweite Drittel soll durchs Schwert fallen rings um dich her; und das letzte Drittel will ich in alle Winde zerstreuen und das Schwert hinter ihnen her zücken.
13Wenn so mein Zorn sich voll ausgewirkt hat und ich meinen Grimm an ihnen gestillt und Rache genommen habe, dann werden sie erkennen, daß ich, der HERR, in meinem Eifer geredet habe, wenn ich meinen Grimm an ihnen voll auswirke.
14Ja, ich will dich zur Einöde machen und zum Gegenstand des Hohnes unter den Heidenvölkern rings um dich her, vor den Augen aller Vorüberziehenden.
15Und du sollst ein Gegenstand des Hohnes und der Schmach sein, eine Warnung und ein Entsetzen für die Heidenvölker rings um dich her, wenn ich Strafgerichte an dir vollziehe im Zorn und im Grimm und mit meinen grimmigen Heimsuchungen – ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt! –,
16wenn ich die schlimmen, verderblichen Pfeile des Hungers gegen euch abschieße, die ich entsenden werde, um euch zu vernichten, und wenn ich die Hungersnot immer schrecklicher bei euch wirken lasse und ich euch den Stab des Brotes zerbreche.
17Und außer der Hungersnot will ich auch böse Tiere gegen euch loslassen, damit sie dich deiner Kinder berauben; und Pest und Blutvergießen sollen bei dir umgehen, und auch das Schwert will ich über dich kommen lassen – ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt!‹«

1Y TÚ, hijo del hombre, tómate un cuchillo agudo, una navaja de barbero toma, y hazla pasar sobre tu cabeza y tu barba: tómate después un peso de balanza, y reparte los pelos.
2Una tercera parte quemarás con fuego en medio de la ciudad, cuando se cumplieren los días del cerco, y tomarás una tercera parte, y herirás con cuchillo alrededor de ella; y una tercera parte esparcirás al viento, y yo desenvainaré espada en pos de ellos.
3Tomarás también de allí unos pocos por cuenta, y los atarás en el canto de tu ropa.
4Y tomarás otra vez de ellos, y los echarás en mitad del fuego, y en el fuego los quemarás: de allí saldrá el fuego en toda la casa de Israel.
5Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Esta es Jerusalem: púsela en medio de las gentes y de las tierras alrededor de ella.
6Y ella mudó mis juicios y mis ordenanzas en impiedad más que las gentes, y más que las tierras que están alrededor de ella; porque desecharon mis juicios y mis mandamientos, y no anduvieron en ellos.
7Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: ¿Por haberos multiplicado más que á las gentes que están alrededor de vosotros, no habéis andado en mis mandamientos, ni habéis guardado mis leyes? Ni aun según las leyes de las gentes que están alrededor de vosotros habéis hecho.
8Así pues ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí yo contra ti; sí, yo, y haré juicios en medio de ti á los ojos de las naciones.
9Y haré en ti lo que nunca hice, ni jamás haré cosa semejante, á causa de todas tus abominaciones.
10Por eso los padres comerán á los hijos en medio de ti, y los hijos comerán á sus padres; y haré en ti juicios, y esparciré á todos vientos todo tu residuo.
11Por tanto, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, ciertamente por haber violado mi santuario con todas tus abominaciones, te quebrantaré yo también: mi ojo no perdonará, ni tampoco tendré yo misericordia.
12Una tercera parte de ti morirá de pestilencia, y de hambre será consumida en medio de ti; y una tercera parte caerá á cuchillo alrededor de ti; y una tercera parte esparciré á todos los vientos, y tras ellos desenvainaré espada.
13Y cumpliráse mi furor, y haré que repose en ellos mi enojo, y tomaré satisfacción: y sabrán que yo Jehová he hablado en mi celo, cuando habré cumplido en ellos mi enojo.
14Y te tornaré en desierto y en oprobio entre las gentes que están alrededor de ti, á los ojos de todo transeunte.
15Y serás oprobio, y escarnio, y escarmiento, y espanto á las gentes que están alrededor de ti, cuando yo hiciere en ti juicios en furor é indignación, y en reprensiones de ira. Yo Jehová he hablado.
16Cuando arrojare yo sobre ellos las perniciosas saetas del hambre, que serán para destrucción, las cuales enviaré para destruiros, entonces aumentaré el hambre sobre vosotros, y quebrantaré entre vosotros el arrimo del pan.
17Enviaré pues sobre vosotros hambre, y malas bestias que te destruyan; y pestilencia y sangre pasarán por ti; y meteré sobre ti cuchillo. Yo Jehová he hablado.

1And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.
2Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.
3Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.
4Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
5Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.
6And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
7Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you;
8Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
9And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
10Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.
11Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
12A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
13Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
14Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
15So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
16When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
17So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.

1“You, son of man, take a sharp sword. You shall take it as a barber’s razor to yourself, and shall cause it to pass over your head and over your beard. Then take balances to weigh and divide the hair.
2A third part you shall burn in the fire in the middle of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled. You shall take a third part, and strike with the sword around it. A third part you shall scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.
3You shall take a small number of these and bind them in the folds of your robe.
4Of these again you shall take, and cast them into the middle of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From it a fire will come out into all the house of Israel.
5“The Lord GOD says: ‘This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the middle of the nations, and countries are around her.
6She has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are around her; for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.’
7“Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you are more turbulent than the nations that are around you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have followed the ordinances of the nations that are around you;
8therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I, even I, am against you; and I will execute judgments among you in the sight of the nations.
9I will do in you that which I have not done, and which I will not do anything like it any more, because of all your abominations.
10Therefore the fathers will eat the sons within you, and the sons will eat their fathers. I will execute judgments on you; and I will scatter the whole remnant of you to all the winds.
11Therefore as I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things, and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you. My eye won’t spare, and I will have no pity.
12A third part of you will die with the pestilence, and they will be consumed with famine within you. A third part will fall by the sword around you. A third part I will scatter to all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.
13“‘Thus my anger will be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I will be comforted. They will know that I, the LORD, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath on them.
14“‘Moreover I will make you a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are around you, in the sight of all that pass by.
15So it will be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, to the nations that are around you, when I execute judgments on you in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes—I, the LORD, have spoken it—
16when I send on them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. I will increase the famine on you and will break your staff of bread.
