1Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, iß diese Rolle und geh dann hin und rede zum Hause Israel!
2Da öffnete ich meinen Mund, und er gab mir die Rolle zu essen
3und sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, deinen Bauch sollst du sie verzehren lassen und dein Inneres sollst du mit dieser Rolle füllen, die ich dir übergebe. Und ich aß, und sie ward in meinem Munde so süß wie Honig.
4Da sprach er zu mir: Menschensohn, auf! begieb dich zum Hause Israel und rede mit meinen Worten zu ihnen.
5Denn nicht als zu einem Volke von dunkler Rede bist du gesandt zum Hause Israel,
6nicht zu vielen Völkern, deren Worte du nicht verstehst, sondern zu ihnen habe ich dich gesandt. Sie können dich verstehen!
7Aber das Haus Israel wird nicht auf dich hören wollen, denn sie wollen nicht auf mich hören; denn das ganze Haus Israel ist von harter Stirn und starrem Sinne.
8Fürwahr, ich will dein Angesicht hart machen gleichwie ihr Angesicht und deine Stirn hart wie ihre Stirn:
9wie Diamant, härter als Felsen, mache ich deine Stirn. Fürchte sie nicht und erschrick nicht vor ihnen, denn sie sind ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit!
10Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, alle meine Worte, die ich zu dir reden werde, nimm dir zu Herzen und höre sie mit deinen Ohren.
11Und mache dich auf, begieb dich zu den Verbannten, zu deinen Volksgenossen, und rede zu ihnen und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr Jahwe -! mögen sie es nun hören oder es lassen!
12Und der Geist Jahwes hob mich empor, und ich vernahm hinter mir das Getöse eines starken Erdbebens, als sich die Herrlichkeit Jahwes von ihrer Stelle erhob,
13und das Getöse der Flügel der Tiere, die einander berührten, und das Getöse der Räder zugleich mit ihnen und das Getöse eines starken Erdbebens.
14Und der Geist hob mich empor und führte mich fort, und ich ging traurig in der Erregung meines Geistes dahin, indem die Hand Jahwes auf mir lastete.
15Und so gelangte ich zu den Verbannten nach Tel Abib an den Fluß Kebar, wo sie wohnten; und ich saß daselbst sieben Tage vor mich hin starrend unter ihnen.
16Und nach sieben Tagen erging das Wort Jahwes an mich also:
17Menschensohn, zum Wächter habe ich dich bestellt für das Haus Israel; wenn du aus meinem Mund ein Wort vernehmen wirst, so sollst du sie von meinetwegen verwarnen.
18Wenn ich zum Gottlosen sage: du mußt sterben! und du verwarnst ihn nicht und sagst nichts, um den Gottlosen vor seinem gottlosen Wege zu warnen, um ihm das Leben zu retten, so wird er, der Gottlose, infolge seiner Verschuldung sterben, sein Blut jedoch werde ich von deiner Hand verlangen.
19Wenn du aber deinerseits den Gottlosen verwarnt hast, und er läßt nicht ab von seinem Frevel und seinem gottlosen Wege, so wird er zwar infolge seiner Verschuldung sterben, aber du hast deine Seele gerettet.
20Und wenn ein Frommer von seiner Frömmigkeit läßt und Unrecht thut, und ich bereite ihm dann einen Anstoß, daß er stirbt: wenn du ihn da nicht verwarnt hast, so wird er infolge seiner Sünde sterben, und die frommen Thaten, die er gethan, sollen ihm nicht in Anrechnung gebracht werden; aber sein Blut werde ich von deiner Hand verlangen!
21Wenn du aber deinerseits den Frommen verwarnt hast, sich nicht zu vergehen, und er, der Fromme, sich nicht vergeht, so wird er leben bleiben, weil er verwarnt war, und du hast deine Seele gerettet.
22Und es kam daselbst die Hand Jahwes über mich, und er sprach zu mir: Auf, geh hinaus in die Thalebene, und ich will dort mit dir reden.
23Da machte ich mich auf und ging hinaus in die Thalebene, und fürwahr, dort stand die Herrlichkeit Jahwes wie die Herrlichkeit, die ich am Flusse Kebar geschaut hatte; da fiel ich auf mein Angesicht.
24Und es kam Geist in mich, der stellte mich auf meine Füße; und er redete mit mir und sprach zu mir: geh hinein, schließe dich in deinem Hause ein!
25Und fürwahr, o Menschensohn, man wird dir Stricke anlegen und dich damit binden, daß du nicht unter ihnen aus und ein gehest.
26Und ich werde deine Zunge an deinen Gaumen kleben lassen, daß du verstummest und ihnen nicht zum Strafprediger werdest, denn sie sind ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit.
27Wenn ich aber mit dir rede, will ich deinen Mund aufthun, und du sollst zu ihnen sprechen: So spricht der Herr Jahwe! Wer hören will, der höre, und wer es lassen will, der lasse es; denn sie sind ein Haus der Widerspenstigkeit.

1Y DÍJOME: Hijo del hombre, come lo que hallares; come este rollo, y ve y habla á la casa de Israel.
2Y abrí mi boca, é hízome comer aquel rollo.
3Y díjome: Hijo del hombre, haz á tu vientre que coma, é hinche tus entrañas de este rollo que yo te doy. Y comílo, y fué en mi boca dulce como miel.
4Díjome luego: Hijo del hombre, ve y entra á la casa de Israel, y habla á ellos con mis palabras.
5Porque no eres enviado á pueblo de habla profunda ni de lengua difícil, sino á la casa de Israel.
6No á muchos pueblos de profunda habla ni de lengua difícil, cuyas palabras no entiendas; y si á ellos te enviara, ellos te oyeran.
7Mas la casa de Israel no te querrán oir, porque no me quieren oir á mí: porque toda la casa de Israel son tiesos de frente, y duros de corazón.
8He aquí he hecho yo tu rostro fuerte contra los rostros de ellos, y tu frente fuerte contra su frente.
9Como diamante, más fuerte que pedernal he hecho tu frente; no los temas, ni tengas miedo delante de ellos, porque es casa rebelde.
10Y díjome: Hijo del hombre, toma en tu corazón todas mis palabras que yo te hablaré, y oye con tus oídos.
11Y ve, y entra á los trasportados, á los hijos de tu pueblo, y les hablarás y les dirás: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová; escuchen, ó dejen de escuchar.
12Y levantóme el espíritu, y oí detrás de mí una voz de grande estruendo, que decía: Bendita sea la gloria de Jehová desde su lugar.
13Oí también el sonido de las alas de los animales que se juntaban la una con la otra, y el sonido de las ruedas delante de ellos, y sonido de grande estruendo.
14Levantóme pues el espíritu, y me tomó; y fuí en amargura, en la indignación de mi espíritu: mas la mano de Jehová era fuerte sobre mí.
15Y vine á los trasportados en Telabib, que moraban junto al río de Chebar, y asenté donde ellos estaban asentados, y allí permanecí siete días atónito entre ellos.
16Y aconteció que al cabo de los siete días fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
17Hijo del hombre, yo te he puesto por atalaya á la casa de Israel: oirás pues tú la palabra de mi boca, y amonestarlos has de mi parte.
18Cuando yo dijere al impío: De cierto morirás: y tú no le amonestares, ni le hablares, para que el impío sea apercibido de su mal camino, á fin de que viva, el impío morirá por su maldad, mas su sangre demandaré de tu mano.
19Y si tú amonestares al impío, y él no se convirtiere de su impiedad, y de su mal camino, él morirá por su maldad, y tú habrás librado tu alma.
20Y cuando el justo se apartare de su justicia, é hiciere maldad, y pusiere yo tropiezo delante de él, él morirá, porque tú no le amonestaste; en su pecado morirá, y sus justicias que había hecho no vendrán en memoria; mas su sangre demandaré de tu mano.
21Y si al justo amonestares para que el justo no peque, y no pecare, de cierto vivirá, porque fué amonestado; y tú habrás librado tu alma.
22Y fué allí la mano de Jehová sobre mí, y díjome: Levántate, y sal al campo, y allí hablaré contigo.
23Y levantéme, y salí al campo: y he aquí que allí estaba la gloria de Jehová, como la gloria que había visto junto al río de Chebar: y caí sobre mi rostro.
24Entonces entró espíritu en mí, y afirmóme sobre mis pies, y hablóme, y díjome: Entra, y enciérrate dentro de tu casa.
25Y tú, oh hijo del hombre, he aquí que pondrán sobre ti cuerdas, y con ellas te ligarán, y no saldrás entre ellos.
26Y haré se pegue tu lengua á tu paladar, y estarás mudo, y no serás á ellos varón que reprende: porque son casa rebelde.
27Mas cuando yo te hubiere hablado, abriré tu boca, y les dirás: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: El que oye, oiga; y el que cesa, cese: porque casa rebelde son.

1Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
2So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
3And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
4And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
5For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
6Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
7But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
8Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
9As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
10Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
11And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.
12Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.
13I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.
14So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
15Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
16And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
18When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
21Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
22And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.
23Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.
24Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
25But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
26And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
27But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
World English Bible
1He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find. Eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”
2So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the scroll.
3He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your belly and your bowels with it.” Then I ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
4He said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel, and speak my words to them.
5For you are not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel—
6not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words you can’t understand. Surely, if I sent you to them, they would listen to you.
7But the house of Israel will not listen to you, for they will not listen to me; for all the house of Israel are obstinate and hard-hearted.
8Behold, I have made your face hard against their faces, and your forehead hard against their foreheads.
9I have made your forehead as a diamond, harder than flint. Don’t be afraid of them, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
10Moreover he said to me, “Son of man, receive in your heart and hear with your ears all my words that I speak to you.
11Go to them of the captivity, to the children of your people, and speak to them, and tell them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ whether they will hear, or whether they will refuse.”
12Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, saying, “Blessed be the LORD’s glory from his place.”
13I heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing.
14So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the LORD’s hand was strong on me.
15Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel Aviv who lived by the river Chebar, and to where they lived; and I sat there overwhelmed among them seven days.
16At the end of seven days, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
17“Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me.
18When I tell the wicked, ‘You will surely die;’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that wicked man will die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand.
19Yet if you warn the wicked, and he doesn’t turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”
20“Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he will die. Because you have not given him warning, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but I will require his blood at your hand.
21Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous not sin, and he does not sin, he will surely live, because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.”
22The LORD’s hand was there on me; and he said to me, “Arise, go out into the plain, and I will talk with you there.”
23Then I arose, and went out into the plain, and behold, the LORD’s glory stood there, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar. Then I fell on my face.
24Then the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet. He spoke with me, and said to me, “Go, shut yourself inside your house.
25But you, son of man, behold, they will put ropes on you, and will bind you with them, and you will not go out among them.
26I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be mute and will not be able to correct them, for they are a rebellious house.
27But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall tell them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.”
