Ezequiel 38

1La parole de l’Eternel me fut encore adressée, en disant :
2Fils d’homme, tourne ta face vers Gog au pays de Magog, Prince des chefs de Mésec et de Tubal, et prophétise contre lui.
3Et dis : ainsi a dit le Seigneur l’Eternel : voici, j’en veux à toi, Gog, Prince des chefs de Mésec et de Tubal ;
4Et je te ferai retourner en arrière, et je mettrai des boucles dans tes mâchoires, et te ferai sortir avec toute ton armée, avec les chevaux, et les gens de cheval, tous parfaitement bien équipés, une grande multitude avec des écus et des boucliers, et tous maniant l’épée.
5Ceux de Perse, de Cus, et de Put avec eux, qui tous ont des boucliers et des casques.
6Gomer et toutes ses bandes, la maison de Togarma du fond de l’Aquilon, avec toutes ses troupes, et plusieurs peuples avec toi.
7Apprête-toi, et tiens-toi prêt, toi, et toute la multitude qui s’est assemblée vers toi, et sois-leur pour garde.
8Après plusieurs jours tu seras visité, et dans les dernières années tu viendras au pays qui aura été délivré de l’épée, et au peuple ramassé d’entre plusieurs peuples, aux montagnes d’Israël qui auront été continuellement en désert ; tu viendras en ce pays-là, lorsque ce pays ayant été retiré d’entre les peuples, tous y habiteront en assurance.
9Tu monteras donc comme une ruine qui éclate, et tu viendras comme une nuée pour couvrir la terre, toi, et toutes tes bandes, et plusieurs peuples avec toi.
10Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l’Eternel : il arrivera en ces jours-là que plusieurs choses monteront en ton coeur, et que tu formeras un dessein pernicieux.
11Car tu diras : je monterai contre le pays dont les villes sont sans murailles ; j’envahirai ceux qui sont en repos, qui habitent en assurance, qui demeurent tous dans des villes sans murailles, lesquelles n’ont ni barres ni portes ;
12Pour enlever un grand butin et faire un grand pillage ; pour remettre ta main sur les déserts qui de nouveau étaient habités et sur le peuple ramassé d’entre les nations, lequel vaque à son bétail, et à ses biens, au milieu du pays.
13Seba, et Dedan, et les marchands de Tarsis, et tous ses lionceaux, te diront : ne vas-tu pas pour faire un grand butin, et n’as-tu pas assemblé ta multitude pour faire un grand pillage, pour emporter de l’argent et de l’or, pour prendre le bétail et les biens, pour enlever un grand butin ?
14Toi donc, fils d’homme, prophétise, et dis à Gog : ainsi a dit le Seigneur l’Eternel : en ce jour-là, quand mon peuple d’Israël habitera en assurance, ne le sauras-tu pas ?
15Et ne viendras-tu pas de ton lieu, du fond de l’Aquilon, toi, et plusieurs peuples avec toi, eux tous gens de cheval, une grande multitude, et une grosse armée ?
16Et ne monteras-tu pas contre mon peuple d’Israël, comme une nuée pour couvrir la terre ? tu seras aux derniers jours, et je te ferai venir sur ma terre, afin que les nations me connaissent, quand je serai sanctifié en toi, ô Gog ! en leur présence.
17Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l’Eternel : n’est-ce pas de toi que j’ai parlé autrefois par le ministère de mes serviteurs, les Prophètes d’Israël, qui ont prophétisé en ces jours-là pendant plusieurs années, qu’on te ferait venir contre eux ?
18Mais il arrivera en ce jour-là, au jour de la venue de Gog sur la terre d’Israël, dit le Seigneur l’Eternel, que ma colère éclatera.
19Et je parlerai en ma jalousie et en l’ardeur de ma fureur, si en ce jour-là il n’y a une grande agitation sur la terre d’Israël.
20Et les poissons de la mer, et les oiseaux des cieux, et les bêtes des champs, et tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre, et tous les hommes qui sont sur le dessus de la terre seront épouvantés par ma présence ; les montagnes seront renversées, les tours et les murailles seront abattues.
21Et j’appellerai contre lui l’épée par toutes mes montagnes, dit le Seigneur l’Eternel ; l’épée de chacun d’eux sera contre son frère.
22Et j’entrerai en jugement avec lui par la mortalité, et par le sang, et je ferai pleuvoir sur lui, et sur ses troupes, et sur les grands peuples qui seront avec lui, des torrents d’eau, des pierres de grêle, du feu et du soufre.
23Je me glorifierai, je me sanctifierai, je serai connu en la présence de plusieurs nations ; et elles sauront que je suis l’Eternel.

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro contra Gog en tierra de Magog, príncipe de la cabecera de Mesech y Tubal, y profetiza sobre él,
3Y di: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí, yo á ti, oh Gog, príncipe de la cabecera de Mesech y Tubal.
4Y yo te quebrantaré, y pondré anzuelos en tus quijadas, y te sacaré á ti, y á todo tu ejército, caballos y caballeros, vestidos de todo todos ellos, grande multitud con paveses y escudos, teniendo todos ellos espadas:
5Persia, y Etiopía, y Libia con ellos; todos ellos con escudos y almetes:
6Gomer, y todas sus compañías; la casa de Togarma, á los lados del norte, y todas sus compañías; pueblos muchos contigo.
7Aparéjate, y apercíbete, tú, y toda tu multitud que se ha reunido á ti, y séles por guarda.
8De aquí á muchos días serás tú visitado: al cabo de años vendrás á la tierra salvada de la espada, recogida de muchos pueblos, á los montes de Israel, que siempre fueron para asolamiento: mas fué sacada de las naciones, y todos ellos morarán confiadamente.
9Y subirás tú, vendrás como tempestad; como nublado para cubrir la tierra serás tú, y todas tus compañías, y muchos pueblos contigo.
10Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Y será en aquel día, que subirán palabras en tu corazón, y concebirás mal pensamiento;
11Y dirás: Subiré contra tierra de aldeas, iré á gentes reposadas, y que habitan confiadamente: todos ellos habitan sin muros, no tienen cerrojos ni puertas:
12Para arrebatar despojos y para tomar presa; para tornar tu mano sobre las tierras desiertas ya pobladas, y sobre el pueblo recogido de las gentes, que se hace de ganados y posesiones, que mora en el ombligo de la tierra.
13Seba, y Dedán, y los mercaderes de Tarsis, y todos sus leoncillos, te dirán: ¿Has venido á arrebatar despojos? ¿has reunido tu multitud para tomar presa, para quitar plata y oro, para tomar ganados y posesiones, para tomar grandes despojos?
14Por tanto profetiza, hijo del hombre, y di á Gog: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: En aquel tiempo, cuando mi pueblo Israel habitará seguramente, ¿no lo sabrás tú?
15Y vendrás de tu lugar, de las partes del norte, tú y muchos pueblos contigo, todos ellos á caballo, grande reunión y poderoso ejército:
16Y subirás contra mi pueblo Israel como nublado para cubrir la tierra; será al cabo de los días: y te traeré sobre mi tierra, para que las gentes me conozcan, cuando fuere santificado en ti, oh Gog, delante de sus ojos.
17Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¿No eres tú aquél de quien hablé yo en tiempos pasados por mis siervos los profetas de Israel, los cuales profetizaron en aquellos tiempos que yo te había de traer sobre ellos?
18Y será en aquel tiempo, cuando vendrá Gog contra la tierra de Israel, dijo el Señor Jehová, que subirá mi ira en mi enojo.
19Porque he hablado en mi celo, y en el fuego de mi ira: Que en aquel tiempo habrá gran temblor sobre la tierra de Israel;
20Que los peces de la mar, y las aves del cielo, y las bestias del campo, y toda serpiente que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, y todos los hombres que están sobre la haz de la tierra, temblarán á mi presencia; y se arruinarán los montes, y los vallados caerán, y todo muro caerá á tierra.
21Y en todos mis montes llamaré contra él espada, dice el Señor Jehová: la espada de cada cual será contra su hermano.
22Y yo litigaré con él con pestilencia y con sangre; y haré llover sobre él, y sobre sus compañías, y sobre los muchos pueblos que están con él, impetuosa lluvia, y piedras de granizo, fuego y azufre.
23Y seré engrandecido y santificado, y seré conocido en ojos de muchas gentes; y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.

1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
7Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
10Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
14Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
15And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
16And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
17Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
21And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
22And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
23Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

1The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3and say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.
4I will turn you around, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords;
5Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
6Gomer, and all his hordes; the house of Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his hordes—even many peoples with you.
7“‘“Be prepared, yes, prepare yourself, you, and all your companies who are assembled to you, and be a guard to them.
8After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought out of the peoples and they will dwell securely, all of them.
9You will ascend. You will come like a storm. You will be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.”
10“‘The Lord GOD says: “It will happen in that day that things will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.
11You will say, ‘I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12to take the plunder and to take prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.’
13Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all its young lions, will ask you, ‘Have you come to take the plunder? Have you assembled your company to take the prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’”’
14“Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and tell Gog, ‘The Lord GOD says: “In that day when my people Israel dwells securely, will you not know it?
15You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you, and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.
16You will come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It will happen in the latter days that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me when I am sanctified in you, Gog, before their eyes.”
17“‘The Lord GOD says: “Are you he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for years that I would bring you against them?
18It will happen in that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “that my wrath will come up into my nostrils.
19For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath I have spoken. Surely in that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel,
20so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, all creeping things who creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the surface of the earth will shake at my presence. Then the mountains will be thrown down, the steep places will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.
21I will call for a sword against him to all my mountains,” says the Lord GOD. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
22I will enter into judgment with him with pestilence and with blood. I will rain on him, on his hordes, and on the many peoples who are with him, torrential rains with great hailstones, fire, and sulfur.
23I will magnify myself and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”’
