1And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2“You, therefore, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre.
3And you shall say to Tyre, which lives at the entrance to the sea, which is the marketplace of the peoples for the many islands: Thus says the Lord God: O Tyre, you have said, ‘I am of perfect beauty,
4for I have been positioned at the heart of the sea!’ Your neighbors, who built you, have filled up your beauty.
5They constructed you with spruce from Senir, with all the planks of the sea. They have taken cedars from Lebanon, so that they might make a mast for you.
6They have formed your oars from the oaks of Bashan. And they have made your crossbeams from Indian ivory, and the pilothouse is from the islands of Italy.
7Colorful fine linen from Egypt was woven for you as a sail to be placed upon the mast; hyacinth and purple from the islands of Elishah were made into your covering.
8The inhabitants of Sidon and of Arwad were your rowers. Your wise ones, O Tyre, were your navigators.
9The elders of Gebal and its experts were considered as sailors making use of your diverse equipment. All the ships of the sea and their sailors were your merchants among the people.
10The Persians, and the Lydians, and the Libyans were your men of war in your army. They suspended shield and helmet within you for your adornment.
11The sons of Arwad were with your army upon your walls all around. And even the Gammadim, who were in your towers, suspended their quivers on your walls on all sides; they completed your beauty.
12The Carthaginians, your merchants, supplied your festivals with a multitude of diverse riches, with silver, iron, tin, and lead.
13Greece, Tubal, and Meshech, these were your peddlers; they traveled to your people with slaves and with brass vessels.
14From the house of Togarmah, they brought horses, and horsemen, and mules to your market.
15The sons of Dedan were your merchants. The many islands were the marketplace of your hand. They traded teeth of ivory and of ebony for your price.
16The Syrian was your merchant. Because of the multitude of your works, they offered jewels, and purple, and patterned cloth, and fine linen, and silk, and other valuables in your market.
17Judah and the land of Israel, these were your peddlers of the best grain; they offered balsam, and honey, and oil, and resins at your festivals.
18The Damascene was your trader in the multitude of your works, in greatly diverse wealth, in rich wine, in wool with the finest coloring.
19Dan, and Greece, and Mosel have offered works made of iron at your festivals. Storax ointment and sweet flag were in your marketplace.
20The men of Dedan were your peddlers of tapestries used as seats.
21Arabia and all the leaders of Kedar, these were the merchants at your hand. Your merchants came to you with lambs, and rams, and young goats.
22The vendors of Sheba and Raamah, these were your merchants, with all the finest aromatics, and precious stones, and gold, which they offered in your marketplace.
23Haran, and Canneh, and Eden were your merchants. Sheba, Assur, and Chilmad were your sellers.
24These were your merchants in many places, with windings of hyacinth and of colorful weavings, and with precious treasures, which were wrapped and bound with cords. Also, they had works of cedar among your merchandise.
25The ships of the sea were important to your business dealings. For you were replenished and exceedingly glorified in the heart of the sea.
26Your rowers have brought you into many waters. The south wind has worn you down in the heart of the sea.
27Your riches, and your treasures, and your versatile equipment, your sailors and your navigators, who handle your goods and who were first among your people, likewise your men of war, who were among you, and your entire multitude that is in your midst: they will fall in the heart of the sea on the day of your ruin.
28Your fleets will be disturbed by the sound of an outcry from your navigators.
29And all who were handling the oar will descend from their ships; the sailors and all the navigators of the sea will stand upon the land.
30And they will howl over you with a great voice, and they will cry out with bitterness. And they will cast dust upon their heads, and they will be sprinkled with ashes.
31And they will shave their heads because of you, and they will be wrapped in haircloth. And they will weep for you with bitterness of soul, with a very bitter weeping.
32And they will take up a mournful verse over you, and they will lament you: ‘What city is like Tyre, which has become mute in the midst of the sea?’
33For by the going forth of your merchandise by sea, you supplied many peoples; by the multitude of your riches and of your people, you enriched the kings of the earth.
34Now you have been worn away by the sea, your opulence is in the depths of the waters, and your entire multitude that was in your midst has fallen.
35All the inhabitants of the islands have been stupefied over you; and all their kings, having been struck by the tempest, have changed their expression.
36The merchants of the peoples have hissed over you. You have been reduced to nothing, and you shall not be again, even forever.”

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Y tú, hijo del hombre, levanta endechas sobre Tiro.
3Y dirás á Tiro, que está asentada á las entradas de la mar, mercadera de los pueblos de muchas islas: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Tiro, tú has dicho: Yo soy de perfecta hermosura.
4En el corazón de las mares están tus términos: los que te edificaron completaron tu belleza.
5De hayas del monte Senir te fabricaron todas las tillas: tomaron cedros del Líbano para hacerte el mástil.
6De castaños de Basán hicieron tus remos: compañía de Asirios hicieron tus bancos de marfil de las islas de Chittim.
7De fino lino bordado de Egipto fué tu cortina, para que te sirviese de vela; de cárdeno y grana de las islas de Elisah fué tu pabellón.
8Los moradores de Sidón y de Arvad fueron tus remeros: tus sabios, oh Tiro, estaban en ti; ellos fueron tus pilotos.
9Los ancianos de Gebal y sus sabios repararon tus hendiduras: todas las galeras de la mar y los remeros de ellas fueron en ti para negociar tus negocios.
10Persas y Lidios, y los de Phut, fueron en tu ejército tus hombres de guerra: escudos y capacetes colgaron en ti; ellos te dieron tu honra.
11Y los hijos de Arvad con tu ejército estuvieron sobre tus muros alrededor, y los Gammadeos en tus torres: sus escudos colgaron sobre tus muros alrededor; ellos completaron tu hermosura.
12Tarsis tu mercadera á causa de la multitud de todas riquezas en plata, hierro, estaño, y plomo, dió en tus ferias.
13Grecia, Tubal, y Mesec, tus mercaderes, con hombres y con vasos de metal, dieron en tus ferias.
14De la casa de Togarma, caballos y caballeros y mulos, dieron en tu mercado.
15Los hijos de Dedán eran tus negociantes: muchas islas tomaban mercadería de tu mano; cuernos de marfil y pavos te dieron en presente.
16Siria fué tu mercadera por la multitud de tus labores: con perlas, y púrpura, y vestidos bordados, y linos finos, y corales, y rubíes, dió en tus ferias.
17Judá, y la tierra de Israel, eran tus mercaderes: con trigos de Minith, y pannah, y miel, y aceite, y resina, dieron en tu mercado.
18Damasco, tu mercadera por la multitud de tus labores, por la abundancia de todas riquezas, con vino de Helbón, y lana blanca.
19Asimismo Dan y el errante Javán dieron en tus ferias, para negociar en tu mercado de hierro labrado, mirra destilada, y caña aromática.
20Dedán fué tu mercadera con paños preciosos para carros.
21Arabia y todos los príncipes de Cedar, mercaderes de tu mano en corderos, y carneros, y machos cabríos: en estas cosas fueron tus mercaderes.
22Los mercaderes de Seba y de Raama fueron tus mercaderes: con lo principal de toda especiería, y toda piedra preciosa, y oro, dieron en tus ferias.
23Harán, y Canneh, y Edén, los mercaderes de Seba, de Asiria, y Chilmad, contigo contrataban.
24Estos tus mercaderes negociaban contigo en varias cosas: en mantos de jacinto, y bordados, y en cajas de ropas preciosas, enlazadas con cordones, y en madera de cedro.
25Las naves de Tarsis, tus cuadrillas, fueron en tu negociación: y fuiste llena, y fuiste multiplicada en gran manera en medio de los mares.
26En muchas aguas te engolfaron tus remeros: viento solano te quebrantó en medio de los mares.
27Tus riquezas, y tus mercaderías, y tu negociación, tus remeros, y tus pilotos, los reparadores de tus hendiduras, y los agentes de tus negocios, y todos tus hombres de guerra que hay en ti, con toda tu compañía que en medio de ti se halla, caerán en medio de los mares el día de tu caída.
28Al estrépito de las voces de tus marineros temblarán los arrabales.
29Y descenderán de sus naves todos los que toman remo; remeros, y todos los pilotos de la mar se pararán en tierra:
30Y harán oir su voz sobre ti, y gritarán amargamente, y echarán polvo sobre sus cabezas, y se revolcarán en la ceniza.
31Y haránse por ti calva, y se ceñirán de sacos, y endecharán por ti endechas amargas, con amargura de alma.
32Y levantarán sobre ti endechas en sus lamentaciones, y endecharán sobre ti diciendo: ¿Quién como Tiro, como la destruída en medio de la mar?
33Cuando tus mercaderías salían de las naves, hartabas muchos pueblos: los reyes de la tierra enriqueciste con la multitud de tus riquezas y de tus contrataciones.
34En el tiempo que serás quebrantada de los mares en los profundos de las aguas, tu comercio y toda tu compañía caerán en medio de ti.
35Todos los moradores de las islas se maravillarán sobre ti, y sus reyes temblarán de espanto: inmutaránse en sus rostros.
36Los mercaderes en los pueblos silbarán sobre ti: vendrás á ser espanto, y dejarás de ser para siempre.

1The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus;
3And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.
4Thy borders are in the midst of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
5They have made all thy ship boards of fir trees of Senir: they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.
6Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; the company of the Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of the isles of Chittim.
7Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou spreadest forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was that which covered thee.
8The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.
9The ancients of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers: all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.
10They of Persia and of Lud and of Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.
11The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.
12Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.
13Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market.
14They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.
15The men of Dedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for a present horns of ivory and ebony.
16Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
17Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm.
18Damascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
19Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.
20Dedan was thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.
21Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants.
22The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.
23Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.
24These were thy merchants in all sorts of things, in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.
25The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.
26Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.
27Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, and in all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
28The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.
29And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;
30And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:
31And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, What city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.
34In the time when thou shalt be broken by the seas in the depths of the waters thy merchandise and all thy company in the midst of thee shall fall.
35All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance.
36The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

1The LORD’s word came again to me, saying,
2“You, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;
3and tell Tyre, ‘You who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many islands, the Lord GOD says: “You, Tyre, have said, ‘I am perfect in beauty.’
4Your borders are in the heart of the seas. Your builders have perfected your beauty.
5They have made all your planks of cypress trees from Senir. They have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.
6They have made your oars of the oaks of Bashan. They have made your benches of ivory inlaid in cypress wood from the islands of Kittim.
7Your sail was of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, that it might be to you for a banner. Blue and purple from the islands of Elishah was your awning.
8The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers. Your wise men, Tyre, were in you. They were your pilots.
9The old men of Gebal and its wise men were your repairers of ship seams in you. All the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.

21“‘“Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your favorite dealers in lambs, rams, and goats. In these, they were your merchants.
22“‘“The traders of Sheba and Raamah were your traders. They traded for your wares with the best of all spices, all precious stones, and gold.
23“‘“Haran, Canneh, Eden, the traders of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were your traders.
24These were your traders in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in cedar chests of rich clothing bound with cords, among your merchandise.
25“‘“The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise. You were replenished and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.
26Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.
27Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war who are in you, with all your company which is among you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.
28At the sound of the cry of your pilots, the pasture lands will shake.
29All who handle the oars, the mariners and all the pilots of the sea, will come down from their ships. They will stand on the land,
30and will cause their voice to be heard over you, and will cry bitterly. They will cast up dust on their heads. They will wallow in the ashes.
31They will make themselves bald for you, and clothe themselves with sackcloth. They will weep for you in bitterness of soul, with bitter mourning.
32In their wailing they will take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying, ‘Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the middle of the sea?’
33When your wares came from the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.
34In the time that you were broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company fell within you.
35All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid. They are troubled in their face.
36The merchants among the peoples hiss at you. You have come to a terrible end, and you will be no more.”’”
