1Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant :
2Fils de l'homme, il y avait deux femmes, filles d'une seule mère.
3Et dans leur jeunesse, elles se sont prostituées en Égypte ; c'est là que leurs mamelles sont tombées et qu'elles ont été déflorées de leur virginité.
4Et elles s'appelaient : l'aînée Oola ; sa sœur Ooliba. Et elles ont été à moi, et elles ont enfanté des fils et des filles, et voici leurs vrais noms : Samarie était Oola, et Jérusalem était Ooliba.
5Et Oola me quitta pour se prostituer ; elle aima jusqu'à la fureur ses amants les Assyriens, qui demeuraient auprès d'elle,
6Vêtus d'hyacinthe, princes et capitaines, jeunes gens d'élite, tous cavaliers montant à cheval.
7Et c'est à eux qu'elle se livra dans sa débauche, et tous les fils choisis des Assyriens, et tous ceux qu'elle aima si furieusement, la souillèrent au gré de tous leurs désirs.
8Et elle ne renonça pas à sa débauche de l'Égypte ; car c'est là que des hommes avaient dormi avec elle dans sa jeunesse, et ils l'avaient déflorée, et ils avaient versé sur elle leur propre infamie.
9À cause de cela, je l'ai livrée aux mains de ses amants, aux mains des fils des Assyriens qu'elle a aimés avec fureur.
10Ils ont dévoilé sa honte ; ils ont pris ses fils et ses filles ; et ils l'ont tuée elle-même à coups de glaive. Et elle est devenue la fable des femmes, et ils ont tiré vengeance d'elle sur sa fille.
11Et sa sœur Ooliba la vit ; et en ses passions elle fut plus dépravée qu'elle, et en sa prostitution elle surpassa la prostitution de sa sœur.
12Elle aima avec fureur les fils des Assyriens, princes et capitaines, ses voisins, revêtus d'habits brodés, cavaliers montant à cheval, tous jeunes gens d'élite.
13Et je les vis toutes deux marcher dans les mêmes souillures.
14Et Ooliba alla plus loin dans sa débauche ; elle vit des hommes dessinés sur un mur, images de Chaldéens tracés au pinceau,
15Les reins ceints d'étoffes bigarrées, la tête couverte d'étoffes de couleur, trois fois plus grands que les autres hommes, images de fils des Chaldéens, de la terre de leurs aïeux.
16Et les ayant contemplés de ses yeux, elle les aima avec fureur, et elle leur envoya des messagers en la terre des Chaldéens.
17Et les fils de Babylone vinrent à elle ; ils partagèrent sa couche ; ils la souillèrent en sa prostitution, et elle fut souillée par eux ; puis son âme s'éloigna d'eux.
18Et elle dévoila sa débauche, et elle dévoila sa honte. Et mon âme s'éloigna d'elle comme mon âme s'était éloignée de sa sœur.
19Et tu as multiplié tes débauches, comme pour rappeler le souvenir des jours de ta jeunesse, où tu t'es prostituée en Égypte.
20Et tu as aimé avec fureur les Chaldéens, qui avaient des chairs comme des ânes, et des membres comme des chevaux.
21Et tu as renouvelé le dérèglement de ta jeunesse, et ce que tu as fait durant ton séjour en Égypte quand tu avais les mamelles de ta jeunesse.
22À cause de cela, Ooliba, voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Voilà que je vais susciter contre toi tes amants, de qui ton âme s'est éloignée ; je les rassemblerai en cercle contre toi.
23Les fils de Babylone et tous les Chaldéens, Phacuc, et Sué, et Hychué, et avec eux tous les fils des Assyriens, jeunes gens d'élite, princes et capitaines, tous ayant grand air et grand renom, cavaliers montant à cheval.
24Et ils viendront tous contre toi du nord, chars et roues, avec une multitude de peuples, longs boucliers, écus légers ; et ils poseront autour de toi des gardes.
25Et je rendrai mon arrêt devant eux, et ils te puniront selon leurs lois. Et j'amènerai contre toi ma jalousie ; et ils te traiteront avec des transports de colère. Ils te couperont les narines et les oreilles ; ils frapperont du glaive ceux des tiens qui survivront ; ils prendront tes fils et tes filles, et le feu dévorera ce qui restera de toi.
26Et ils te dépouilleront de tes vêtements, et ils te prendront les joyaux qui faisaient ton orgueil.
27Puis je détournerai de toi tes impiétés, et tes débauches de la terre d'Égypte, et tu ne lèveras plus les yeux sur eux, et tu ne te souviendras plus de l'Égypte.
28Ainsi parle-encore le Seigneur Maître : Voilà que je te livre aux mains de ceux que tu hais, de ceux de qui ton âme s'est éloignée.
29Ils te traiteront avec haine, et ils te prendront le fruit de tes fatigues et de tes labeurs, et tu seras nue et confuse ; et la honte de ta prostitution sera dévoilée ; et ton impiété et ta débauche
30T'auront attiré ces maux, parce que tu t'es prostituée en courant après des gentils, et que tu t'es souillée avec leurs idoles.
31Tu as marché dans la voie de ta sœur, et je mettrai sa coupe en tes mains.
32Voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Bois la coupe de ta sœur, coupe large et profonde ; bois-la jusqu'à l'ivresse ;
33Et tu seras tout à fait énervée ; la coupe de ta sœur Samarie est une coupe d'extermination.
34Bois-la, et je répudierai tes fêtes et tes jours de nouvelle lune ; car c'est moi qui ai parlé, dit le Seigneur.
35À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur : Parce que tu m'as oublié et rejeté derrière toi, tu recevras la rétribution de ton impiété et de ta débauche.
36Et le Seigneur me dit : Fils de l'homme, ne jugeras-tu pas Oola et Ooliba ? Ne leur feras-tu pas connaître leurs dérèglements,
37Et leurs adultères, et le sang qu'elles ont versé ? Elles se sont prostituées à leurs idoles ; et leurs enfants qu'elles avaient enfantés pour moi, elles les ont fait passer pour elles à travers la flamme.
38Et aussi longtemps qu'elles ont ainsi fait, elles ont souillé mes choses saintes et profané mes sabbats.
39Et quand elles égorgeaient leurs enfants pour des idoles, elles entraient dans mon sanctuaire pour le souiller ; et voilà ce qu'elles ont fait au milieu de mon temple,
40Avec des hommes venant de loin, à qui elles avaient envoyé des messages. Et comme ils arrivaient tu t'es aussitôt lavée, tu t'es fardée autour des yeux, tu t'es parée de tes joyaux,
41Tu t'es assise sur un long siège, et une table était préparée devant toi ; et ils se sont réjouis de mes parfums et de mon huile.
42Et elles ont entonné des chants harmonieux devant quelques-uns des hommes qui étaient venus en foule du désert, et elles leur ont mis des bracelets, et elles leur ont posé sur la tête des couronnes de gloire.
43Et j'ai dit : Ne commettent-elles pas des adultères avec ceux-ci ? Cette femme ne se conduit-elle pas comme une prostituée ?
44Ils sont entrés chez elle comme on entre chez une femme débauchée ; et voilà comme ils sont entrés chez Oola et Ooliba, pour s'abandonner au dérèglement.
45Aussi ce sont des hommes justes, ceux qui tireront vengeance contre ces femmes, de leurs adultères et du sang versé ; car elles sont adultères et elles ont versé le sang.
46Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Maître : Ameute contre elles la foule, et répands chez elles le trouble et le pillage.
47Qu'elles soient lapidées par les pierres de la multitude, qu'elles soient percées par ses glaives ; on tuera leurs fils et leurs filles, on brûlera leurs maisons.
48Ensuite je détournerai de cette terre l'impiété, et toutes les femmes seront instruites, elles n'imiteront pas l'impiété de celles-ci.
49Et votre iniquité retombera sur vous, et vous porterez la peine de vos idoles, et vous connaîtrez que je suis le Seigneur.

2Hijo del hombre, hubo dos mujeres, hijas de una madre,
3Las cuales fornicaron en Egipto; en sus mocedades fornicaron. Allí fueron apretados sus pechos, y allí fueron estrujados los pechos de su virginidad.
4Y llamábanse, la mayor, Aholah, y su hermana, Aholibah; las cuales fueron mías, y parieron hijos é hijas. Y llamáronse, Samaria, Aholah; y Jerusalem, Aholibah.
5Y Aholah cometió fornicación en mi poder: y prendóse de sus amantes, los Asirios sus vecinos,
6Vestidos de cárdeno, capitanes y príncipes, mancebos todos de codiciar, caballeros que andaban á caballo.
7Y puso sus fornicaciones con ellos, con todos los más escogidos de los hijos de los Asirios, y con todos aquellos de quienes se enamoró: contaminóse con todos los ídolos de ellos.
8Y no dejó sus fornicaciones de Egipto: porque con ella se echaron en su mocedad, y ellos comprimieron los pechos de su virginidad, y derramaron sobre ella su fornicación.
9Por lo cual la entregué en mano de sus amantes, en mano de los hijos de los Asirios, de quienes se había enamorado.
10Ellos descubrieron sus vergüenzas, tomaron sus hijos y sus hijas, y á ella mataron á cuchillo: y vino á ser de nombre entre las mujeres, pues en ella hicieron juicios.
11Y viólo su hermana Aholibah, y estragó su amor más que ella; y sus fornicaciones, más que las fornicaciones de su hermana.
12Enamoróse de los hijos de los Asirios, sus vecinos, capitanes y príncipes, vestidos en perfección, caballeros que andaban á caballo, todos ellos mancebos de codiciar.
13Y vi que se había contaminado: un camino era el de ambas.
14Y aumentó sus fornicaciones: pues cuando vió hombres pintados en la pared, imágenes de Caldeos pintadas de color,
15Ceñidos de talabartes por sus lomos, y tiaras pintadas en sus cabezas, teniendo todos ellos parecer de capitanes, á la manera de los hombres de Babilonia, nacidos en tierra de Caldeos,
16Enamoróse de ellos en viéndolos, y envióles mensajeros á la tierra de los Caldeos.
17Y entraron á ella los hombres de Babilonia á la cama de los amores, y contamináronla con su fornicación; y ella también se contaminó con ellos, y su deseo se hartó de ellos.
18Así hizo patentes sus fornicaciones, y descubrió sus vergüenzas: por lo cual mi alma se hartó de ella, como se había ya hartado mi alma de su hermana.
19Aun multiplicó sus fornicaciones trayendo en memoria los días de su mocedad, en los cuales había fornicado en la tierra de Egipto.
20Y enamoróse de sus rufianes, cuya carne es como carne de asnos, y cuyo flujo como flujo de caballos.
21Así tornaste á la memoria la suciedad de tu mocedad, cuando comprimieron tus pechos en Egipto por los pechos de tu mocedad.
22Por tanto, Aholibah, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo despierto tus amantes contra ti, de los cuales se hartó tu deseo, y yo les haré venir contra ti en derredor;
23Los de Babilonia, y todos los Caldeos, mayordomos, y príncipes, y capitanes, todos los de Asiria con ellos: mancebos todos ellos de codiciar, capitanes y príncipes, nobles y principales, que montan á caballo todos ellos.
24Y vendrán sobre ti carros, carretas, y ruedas, y multitud de pueblos. Escudos, y paveses, y capacetes pondrán contra ti en derredor; y yo daré el juicio delante de ellos, y por sus leyes te juzgarán.
25Y pondré mi celo contra ti, y obrarán contigo con furor; quitarte han tu nariz y tus orejas; y lo que te quedare caerá á cuchillo. Ellos tomarán tus hijos y tus hijas, y tu residuo será consumido por el fuego.
26Y te desnudarán de tus vestidos, y tomarán los vasos de tu gloria.
27Y haré cesar de ti tu suciedad, y tu fornicación de la tierra de Egipto: ni más levantarás á ellos tus ojos, ni nunca más te acordarás de Egipto.
28Porque así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí, yo te entrego en mano de aquellos que tú aborreciste, en mano de aquellos de los cuales se hartó tu deseo:
29Los cuales obrarán contigo con odio, y tomarán todo lo que tú trabajaste, y te dejarán desnuda y descubierta: y descubriráse la torpeza de tus fornicaciones, y tu suciedad, y tus fornicaciones.
30Estas cosas se harán contigo, porque fornicaste en pos de las gentes, con las cuales te contaminaste en sus ídolos.
31En el camino de tu hermana anduviste: yo pues pondré su cáliz en tu mano.
32Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Beberás el hondo y ancho cáliz de tu hermana; de ti se mofarán las gentes, y te escarnecerán: de grande cabida es.
33Serás llena de embriaguez y de dolor por el cáliz de soledad y de asolamiento, por el cáliz de tu hermana Samaria.
34Lo beberás pues, y lo agotarás, y quebrarás sus tiestos; y tus pechos arrancarás; porque yo he hablado, dice el Señor Jehová.
35Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto te has olvidado de mí, y me has echado tras tus espaldas, por eso, lleva tú también tu suciedad y tus fornicaciones.
36Y díjome Jehová: Hijo del hombre, ¿no juzgarás tú á Aholah, y á Aholibah, y les denunciarás sus abominaciones?
37Porque han adulterado, y hay sangre en sus manos, y han fornicado con sus ídolos; y aun sus hijos que me habían engendrado, hicieron pasar por el fuego, quemándolos.
38Aun esto más me hicieron: contaminaron mi santuario en aquel día, y profanaron mis sábados;
39Pues habiendo sacrificado sus hijos á sus ídolos, entrábanse en mi santuario el mismo día para contaminarlo: y he aquí, así hicieron en medio de mi casa.
40Y cuanto más, que enviaron por hombres que vienen de lejos, á los cuales había sido enviado mensajero: y he aquí vinieron; y por amor de ellos te lavaste, y alcoholaste tus ojos, y te ataviaste con adornos:
41Y te sentaste sobre suntuoso estrado, y fué adornada mesa delante de él, y sobre ella pusiste mi perfume y mi óleo.
42Y oyóse en ella voz de compañía en holganza: y con los varones fueron traídos de la gente común los Sabeos del desierto; y pusieron manillas sobre sus manos, y coronas de gloria sobre sus cabezas.
43Y dije á la envejecida en adulterios: Sus prostituciones cumplirán ellos ahora, y ella con ellos:
44Porque han venido á ella como quien viene á mujer ramera: así vinieron á Aholah y á Aholibah, mujeres depravadas.
45Por tanto, hombres justos las juzgarán por la ley de las adúlteras, y por la ley de las que derraman sangre: porque son adúlteras, y sangre hay en sus manos.
46Por lo que así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Yo haré subir contra ellas compañías, las entregaré á turbación y á rapiña:
47Y la compañía de gentes las apedreará con piedras, y las acuchillará con sus espadas: matarán á sus hijos y á sus hijas, y sus casas consumirán con fuego.
48Y haré cesar la depravación de la tierra, y escarmentarán todas las mujeres, y no harán según vuestra torpeza.
49Y sobre vosotras pondrán vuestra obscenidad, y llevaréis los pecados de vuestros ídolos; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová.

1The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
6Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.
7Thus she committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chosen men of Assyria, and with all on whom she doted: with all their idols she defiled herself.
8Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.
9Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.
10These discovered her nakedness: they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became famous among women; for they had executed judgment upon her.
11And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
13Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
14And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,
15Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
16And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.
17And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.
18So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her sister.
19Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.
20For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21Thus thou calledst to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.
22Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
25And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.
26They shall also strip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels.
27Thus will I make thy lewdness to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: so that thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, nor remember Egypt any more.
28For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
29And they shall deal with thee hatefully, and shall take away all thy labour, and shall leave thee naked and bare: and the nakedness of thy whoredoms shall be discovered, both thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
30I will do these things unto thee, because thou hast gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.
31Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.
32Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou shalt drink of thy sister’s cup deep and large: thou shalt be laughed to scorn and had in derision; it containeth much.
33Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.
34Thou shalt even drink it and suck it out, and thou shalt break the sherds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
35Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms.
36The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
37That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.
38Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
39For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.
40And furthermore, that ye have sent for men to come from far, unto whom a messenger was sent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyself, paintedst thy eyes, and deckedst thyself with ornaments,
41And satest upon a stately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou hast set mine incense and mine oil.
42And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.
43Then said I unto her that was old in adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms with her, and she with them?
44Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot: so went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.
45And the righteous men, they shall judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women that shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
47And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48Thus will I cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.
49And they shall recompense your lewdness upon you, and ye shall bear the sins of your idols: and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
World English Bible
1The LORD’s word came again to me, saying,
2“Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother.
3They played the prostitute in Egypt. They played the prostitute in their youth. Their breasts were fondled there, and their youthful nipples were caressed there.
4Their names were Oholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister. They became mine, and they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.
5“Oholah played the prostitute when she was mine. She doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbors,
6who were clothed with blue—governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding on horses.
7She gave herself as a prostitute to them, all of them the choicest men of Assyria. She defiled herself with the idols of whomever she lusted after.
8She hasn’t left her prostitution since leaving Egypt; for in her youth they lay with her. They caressed her youthful nipples and they poured out their prostitution on her.
9“Therefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians on whom she doted.
10These uncovered her nakedness. They took her sons and her daughters, and they killed her with the sword. She became a byword among women; for they executed judgments on her.
11“Her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lusting than she, and in her prostitution which was more depraved than the prostitution of her sister.
12She lusted after the Assyrians, governors and rulers—her neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding on horses, all of them desirable young men.
13I saw that she was defiled. They both went the same way.
14“She increased her prostitution; for she saw men portrayed on the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with red,
15dressed with belts on their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like princes, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their birth.
16As soon as she saw them, she lusted after them and sent messengers to them into Chaldea.
17The Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their prostitution. She was polluted with them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18So she uncovered her prostitution and uncovered her nakedness. Then my soul was alienated from her, just like my soul was alienated from her sister.
19Yet she multiplied her prostitution, remembering the days of her youth, in which she had played the prostitute in the land of Egypt.
20She lusted after their lovers, whose flesh is as the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like the issue of horses.
21Thus you called to memory the lewdness of your youth, in the caressing of your nipples by the Egyptians because of your youthful breasts.
22“Therefore, Oholibah, the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side:
23the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa, Koa, and all the Assyrians with them; all of them desirable young men, governors and rulers, princes and men of renown, all of them riding on horses.
24They will come against you with weapons, chariots, and wagons, and with a company of peoples. They will set themselves against you with buckler, shield, and helmet all around. I will commit the judgment to them, and they will judge you according to their judgments.
25I will set my jealousy against you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will take away your nose and your ears. Your remnant will fall by the sword. They will take your sons and your daughters; and the rest of you will be devoured by the fire.
26They will also strip you of your clothes and take away your beautiful jewels.
27Thus I will make your lewdness to cease from you, and remove your prostitution from the land of Egypt, so that you will not lift up your eyes to them, nor remember Egypt any more.’
28“For the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I will deliver you into the hand of them whom you hate, into the hand of them from whom your soul is alienated.
29They will deal with you in hatred, and will take away all your labor, and will leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your prostitution will be uncovered, both your lewdness and your prostitution.
30These things will be done to you because you have played the prostitute after the nations, and because you are polluted with their idols.
31You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will give her cup into your hand.’
32“The Lord GOD says: ‘You will drink of your sister’s cup, which is deep and large. You will be ridiculed and held in derision. It contains much.
33You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation, with the cup of your sister Samaria.
34You will even drink it and drain it out. You will gnaw the broken pieces of it, and will tear your breasts; for I have spoken it,’ says the Lord GOD.
35“Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, therefore you also bear your lewdness and your prostitution.’”
36The LORD said moreover to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.
37For they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols. They have also caused their sons, whom they bore to me, to pass through the fire to them to be devoured.
38Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my Sabbaths.
39For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and behold, they have done this in the middle of my house.
40“Furthermore you sisters have sent for men who come from far away, to whom a messenger was sent, and behold, they came; for whom you washed yourself, painted your eyes, decorated yourself with ornaments,
41and sat on a stately bed, with a table prepared before it, whereupon you set my incense and my oil.
42“The voice of a multitude being at ease was with her. With men of the common sort were brought drunkards from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on their hands, and beautiful crowns on their heads.
43Then I said of her who was old in adulteries, ‘Now they will play the prostitute with her, and she with them.’
44They went in to her, as they go in to a prostitute. So they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the lewd women.
45Righteous men will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46“For the Lord GOD says: ‘I will bring up a mob against them, and will give them to be tossed back and forth and robbed.
47The company will stone them with stones and dispatch them with their swords. They will kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.
48“‘Thus I will cause lewdness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught not to be lewd like you.
49They will recompense your lewdness on you, and you will bear the sins of your idols. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.’”
