1Et toi, chante une lamentation sur le prince d'Israël ;
2Et dis : Pourquoi ma mère est-elle devenue une jeune lionne au milieu des lions ? Pourquoi, au milieu des lions, a-t-elle multiplié ses lionceaux ?
3Et un de ses lionceaux s'est élancé, et il est devenu lion, et il a appris à ravir sa proie, et il a dévoré des hommes.
4Et les nations en ont ouï parler, et il a été pris comme il les détruisait, et elles l'ont emmené, dans un filet, en la terre d'Égypte.
5Et la lionne, ayant vu qu'il était séparé d'elle, et que son espérance en lui avait péri, prit un autre de ses lionceaux, et le fit lion.
6Et celui-ci se montra au milieu des lions, et il devint lion, et il apprit à ravir sa proie, et il dévora des hommes.
7Et il se reput en son audace, et il dépeupla les villes de la voix de ses rugissements ; et il désola la terre et ce qui la remplit.
8Et les peuples des royaumes l'entourèrent, et ils tendirent contre lui leurs filets, et pendant qu'il les détruisait il fut pris.
9Et on le mit dans une cage de fer, enveloppé de son filet ; et il arriva chez le roi de Babylone, qui le jeta en prison, afin qu'on n'entendit plus sa voix sur la montagne d'Israël.
10Ta mère est comme une vigne et comme une fleur de grenadier planté au bord des eaux ; son fruit et ses bourgeons ont crû dans l'abondance de l'eau.
11Mais elle est devenue une verge pour la tribu des rois, et elle s'est élevée dans sa grandeur, au milieu des autres tiges. Et elle a vu sa grandeur en la multitude de ses rameaux.
12Et elle a été brisée avec fureur ; elle a été jetée à terre, et un vent brillant a flétri ses meilleures branches ; ils se sont vengés d'elle, et la verge de sa puissance a été desséchée. Le feu l'a dévorée.
13Et maintenant on l'a plantée dans le désert en une terre aride.
14Et une flamme est sortie d'une verge de ses meilleurs rameaux, et elle l'a dévorée, et elle n'eut plus la verge de sa puissance. Sa race est devenue une parabole de lamentation, une lamentation que l'on chantera.

2Y dirás: ¡Cómo se echó entre los leones tu madre la leona! entre los leoncillos crió sus cachorros.
3E hizo subir uno de sus cachorros: vino á ser leoncillo, y aprendió á prender presa, y á devorar hombres.
4Y las gentes oyeron de él: fué tomado con el lazo de ellas, y lleváronlo con grillos á la tierra de Egipto.
5Y viendo ella que había esperado mucho tiempo, y que se perdía su esperanza, tomó otro de sus cachorros, y púsolo por leoncillo.
6Y él andaba entre los leones; hízose leoncillo, aprendió á hacer presa, devoró hombres.
7Y conoció sus viudas, y asoló sus ciudades; y la tierra fué asolada, y su abundancia, á la voz de su bramido.
8Y dieron sobre él las gentes de las provincias de alrededor, y extendieron sobre él su red; fué preso en su hoyo.
9Y pusiéronlo en cárcel con cadenas, y lleváronlo al rey de Babilonia; metiéronlo en fortalezas, para que su voz no se oyese más sobre los montes de Israel.
10Tu madre fué como una vid en tu sangre, plantada junto á las aguas, haciendo fruto y echando vástagos á causa de las muchas aguas.
11Y ella tuvo varas fuertes para cetros de señores; y levantóse su estatura por encima entre las ramas, y fué vista en su altura, y con la multitud de sus sarmientos.
12Empero fué arrancada con ira, derribada en tierra, y viento solano secó su fruto; fueron quebradas y secáronse sus varas fuertes; consumiólas el fuego.
13Y ahora está plantada en el desierto, en tierra de sequedad y de aridez.
14Y ha salido fuego de la vara de sus ramos, ha consumido su fruto, y no ha quedado en ella vara fuerte, cetro para enseñorear. Endecha es esta, y de endecha servirá.

1Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
3And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
4The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
5Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
6And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
7And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
8Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
9And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
10Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
12But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
13And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
14And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

4The nations also heard of him. He was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.
5“‘Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion.

7He knew their palaces, and laid waste their cities. The land was desolate with its fullness, because of the noise of his roaring.
8Then the nations attacked him on every side from the provinces. They spread their net over him. He was taken in their pit.
9They put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon. They brought him into strongholds, so that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.
10“‘Your mother was like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters. It was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11It had strong branches for the scepters of those who ruled. Their stature was exalted among the thick boughs. They were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.
12But it was plucked up in fury. It was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit. Its strong branches were broken off and withered. The fire consumed them.
13Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
14Fire has gone out of its branches. It has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong branch to be a scepter to rule.’ This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.”
