1A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim novamente, dizendo:
2“Filho do homem, faça Jerusalém conhecer as suas abominações;
3e diga: ‘Assim diz o Senhor DEUS a Jerusalém: A sua origem e o seu nascimento são da terra dos cananeus. O seu pai era amorreu, e a sua mãe, heteia.
4Quanto ao seu nascimento, no dia em que você nasceu, o seu cordão umbilical não foi cortado. Você não foi lavada com água para ser purificada. Você não foi esfregada com sal, nem enrolada em panos.
5Nenhum olho teve pena de você, para lhe fazer qualquer destas coisas, para ter compaixão de você; mas você foi lançada em campo aberto, porque você foi rejeitada no dia em que nasceu.
6“‘“Quando eu passei por você e a vi se revolvendo em seu sangue, eu lhe disse: ‘Ainda que você esteja em seu sangue, viva!’ Sim, eu lhe disse: ‘Ainda que você esteja em seu sangue, viva!’
7Eu fiz com que você se multiplicasse como as plantas que crescem no campo, e você cresceu e se desenvolveu, e alcançou excelente beleza. Os seus seios se formaram, e o seu cabelo cresceu; contudo, você estava nua e descoberta.
8“‘“Então, quando passei por você e olhei para você, eis que o seu tempo era o tempo do amor; e eu estendi a minha capa sobre você e cobri a sua nudez. Sim, eu fiz um juramento a você e entrei em aliança com você”, diz o Senhor DEUS, “e você passou a ser minha.
9“‘“Então eu a lavei com água. Sim, eu lavei completamente o seu sangue de você, e a ungi com óleo.
10Eu também a vesti com roupas bordadas e coloquei sandálias de couro em você. Eu a vesti com linho fino e a cobri com seda.
11Eu a adornei com enfeites, coloquei pulseiras em seus pulsos e um colar em seu pescoço.
12Coloquei um anel em seu nariz, brincos em suas orelhas e uma linda coroa em sua cabeça.
13Assim você foi adornada com ouro e prata. As suas roupas eram de linho fino, seda e tecido bordado. Você comeu farinha fina, mel e azeite. Você se tornou extremamente formosa e prosperou até chegar à realeza.
14A sua fama se espalhou entre as nações por causa da sua beleza; pois ela era perfeita, graças à minha majestade que eu havia colocado sobre você”, diz o Senhor DEUS.
15“‘“Mas você confiou em sua beleza e se prostituiu por causa da sua fama, e derramou a sua prostituição sobre todos os que passavam. A sua beleza se tornou deles.
16Você pegou algumas de suas roupas e fez para si mesma altares idólatras adornados com várias cores, e se prostituiu sobre eles. Isso não deveria acontecer, nem jamais deverá ser assim.
17Você também pegou as suas lindas joias do meu ouro e da minha prata, que eu lhe havia dado, e fez para si imagens de homens, e se prostituiu com elas.
18Você pegou as suas roupas bordadas, as cobriu, e colocou o meu óleo e o meu incenso diante delas.
19O meu pão também, que eu lhe dei, a farinha fina, o azeite e o mel, com os quais eu a alimentei, você até mesmo os colocou diante delas como um aroma agradável; e assim foi”, diz o Senhor DEUS.
20“‘“Além disso, você pegou os seus filhos e as suas filhas, que você havia gerado para mim, e os sacrificou a elas para serem devorados. Acaso a sua prostituição foi pouca coisa,
21para que você matasse os meus filhos e os entregasse, fazendo-os passar pelo fogo em honra a elas?
22Em todas as suas abominações e na sua prostituição, você não se lembrou dos dias da sua juventude, quando você estava nua e descoberta, e se revolvia em seu sangue.
23“‘“E aconteceu que, depois de toda a sua maldade — ai, ai de você!”, diz o Senhor DEUS —
24“você construiu para si um lugar abobadado, e fez para si um lugar elevado em cada rua.
25Você construiu o seu lugar elevado no início de cada caminho, e fez da sua beleza uma abominação, e abriu as suas pernas para todos os que passavam, e multiplicou a sua prostituição.
26Você também cometeu imoralidade sexual com os egípcios, seus vizinhos, grandes de carne; e multiplicou a sua prostituição, para me provocar à ira.
27Veja, portanto, que eu estendi a minha mão sobre você, e diminuí a sua porção, e a entreguei à vontade daquelas que a odeiam, as filhas dos filisteus, que se envergonham do seu caminho depravado.
28Você também se prostituiu com os assírios, porque era insaciável; sim, você se prostituiu com eles, e ainda assim não ficou satisfeita.
29Além disso, você multiplicou a sua prostituição até a terra dos mercadores, até a Caldeia; e ainda assim não ficou satisfeita com isso.
30“‘“Como é fraco o seu coração”, diz o Senhor DEUS, “visto que você faz todas essas coisas, a obra de uma prostituta descarada;
31ao construir o seu lugar abobadado no início de cada caminho, e fazer o seu lugar elevado em cada rua. E você não tem sido como uma prostituta, pois você despreza o pagamento.
32“‘“Esposa adúltera, que recebe estranhos em lugar de seu marido!
33As pessoas dão presentes a todas as prostitutas; mas você dá os seus presentes a todos os seus amantes, e os suborna, para que venham a você de todos os lados para a sua prostituição.
34Você é diferente das outras mulheres em sua prostituição, pois ninguém a segue para se prostituir; e visto que você paga, e nenhum pagamento é dado a você, por isso você é diferente.”’
35“Portanto, prostituta, ouça a palavra do SENHOR:
36‘Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Porque a sua imundície foi derramada, e a sua nudez foi descoberta através da sua prostituição com os seus amantes; e por causa de todos os ídolos das suas abominações, e pelo sangue dos seus filhos, que você deu a eles;
37portanto, veja, eu reunirei todos os seus amantes, com os quais você teve prazer, e todos aqueles a quem você amou, com todos aqueles a quem você odiou. Eu os reunirei contra você de todos os lados, e descobrirei a sua nudez diante deles, para que vejam toda a sua nudez.
38Eu a julgarei como são julgadas as mulheres que quebram o matrimônio e derramam sangue; e trarei sobre você o sangue da ira e do ciúme.
39Eu também a entregarei nas mãos deles, e eles derrubarão o seu lugar abobadado, e destruirão os seus lugares elevados. Eles a despirão de suas roupas e tomarão as suas lindas joias. Eles a deixarão nua e descoberta.
40Eles também trarão uma multidão contra você, e a apedrejarão com pedras, e a traspassarão com as suas espadas.
41Eles queimarão as suas casas com fogo, e executarão juízos sobre você à vista de muitas mulheres. Eu farei com que você pare de se prostituir, e você também não dará mais nenhum pagamento.
42Assim farei descansar a minha ira contra você, e o meu ciúme se afastará de você. Eu ficarei tranquilo, e não me irarei mais.
43“‘“Porque você não se lembrou dos dias da sua juventude, mas se enfureceu contra mim em todas essas coisas; portanto, eis que eu também farei recair o seu caminho sobre a sua cabeça”, diz o Senhor DEUS: “e você não cometerá mais esta depravação junto com todas as suas abominações.
44“‘“Eis que todo aquele que usa provérbios usará este provérbio contra você, dizendo: ‘Tal mãe, tal filha.’
45Você é filha da sua mãe, que detesta o seu marido e os seus filhos; e você é irmã das suas irmãs, que detestaram os seus maridos e os seus filhos. A sua mãe era heteia, e o seu pai, amorreu.
46A sua irmã mais velha é Samaria, que habita à sua esquerda, ela e as suas filhas; e a sua irmã mais nova, que habita à sua direita, é Sodoma com as suas filhas.
47Contudo, você não andou nos caminhos delas, nem cometeu as abominações delas; mas em pouco tempo você se corrompeu mais do que elas em todos os seus caminhos.
48Tão certo como eu vivo”, diz o Senhor DEUS, “Sodoma, a sua irmã, não fez, nem ela nem as suas filhas, o que você fez, você e as suas filhas.
49“‘“Eis que esta foi a iniquidade da sua irmã Sodoma: orgulho, fartura de pão e próspera ociosidade havia nela e em suas filhas. Ela também não fortaleceu a mão do pobre e do necessitado.
50Elas foram arrogantes e cometeram abominação diante de mim. Portanto, eu as removi quando vi isso.
51Samaria não cometeu nem a metade dos seus pecados; mas você multiplicou as suas abominações mais do que elas, e justificou as suas irmãs por todas as abominações que você cometeu.
52Você também deve suportar a sua própria vergonha, visto que você serviu de juíza para as suas irmãs; através dos seus pecados que você cometeu, mais abomináveis do que os delas, elas são mais justas do que você. Sim, seja também envergonhada, e suporte a sua vergonha, visto que você justificou as suas irmãs.
53“‘“Eu reverterei o cativeiro delas, o cativeiro de Sodoma e de suas filhas, e o cativeiro de Samaria e de suas filhas, e o cativeiro dos seus cativos no meio delas;
54para que você suporte a sua própria vergonha, e seja envergonhada por causa de tudo o que você fez, visto que você é um consolo para elas.
55As suas irmãs, Sodoma e as suas filhas, retornarão ao seu estado anterior; e Samaria e as suas filhas retornarão ao seu estado anterior; e você e as suas filhas retornarão ao seu estado anterior.
56Pois a sua irmã Sodoma não foi mencionada pela sua boca no dia do seu orgulho,
57antes que a sua maldade fosse descoberta, como no tempo da vergonha das filhas da Síria, e de todos os que estão ao seu redor, as filhas dos filisteus, que a desprezam por todos os lados.
58Você tem suportado a sua depravação e as suas abominações”, diz o SENHOR.
59“‘Pois assim diz o Senhor DEUS: “Eu também lidarei com você como você fez, você que desprezou o juramento ao quebrar a aliança.
60Apesar disso, eu me lembrarei da minha aliança com você nos dias da sua juventude, e estabelecerei uma aliança eterna com você.
61Então você se lembrará dos seus caminhos e ficará envergonhada quando receber as suas irmãs, as suas irmãs mais velhas e as mais novas; e eu as darei a você por filhas, mas não por causa da sua aliança.
62Eu estabelecerei a minha aliança com você. Então você saberá que eu sou o SENHOR;
63para que você se lembre, e fique envergonhada, e nunca mais abra a sua boca por causa da sua vergonha, quando eu a houver perdoado por tudo o que você fez”, diz o Senhor DEUS.’”

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Hijo del hombre, notifica á Jerusalem sus abominaciones,
3Y di: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová sobre Jerusalem: Tu habitación y tu raza fué de la tierra de Canaán; tu padre Amorrheo, y tu madre Hethea.
4Y cuanto á tu nacimiento, el día que naciste no fué cortado tu ombligo, ni fuiste lavada con aguas para atemperarte, ni salada con sal, ni fuiste envuelta con fajas.
5No hubo ojo que se compadeciese de ti, para hacerte algo de esto, teniendo de ti misericordia; sino que fuiste echada sobre la haz del campo, con menosprecio de tu vida, en el día que naciste.
6Y yo pasé junto á ti, y te vi sucia en tus sangres, y díjete: En tus sangres, vive; vive, díjete, en tus sangres.
7En millares como la hierba del campo te puse, y fuiste aumentada y engrandecida, y viniste á ser adornada grandemente; los pechos te crecieron, y tu pelo brotó; mas tú estabas desnuda y descubierta.
8Y pasé yo junto á ti, y te miré, y he aquí que tu tiempo era tiempo de amores; y extendí mi manto sobre ti, y cubrí tu desnudez; y díte juramento, y entré en concierto contigo, dice el Señor Jehová, y fuiste mía:
9Y te lavé con agua, y lavé tus sangres de encima de ti, y ungíte con aceite;
10Y te vestí de bordado, y te calcé de tejón, y ceñíte de lino, y te vestí de seda.
11Y te atavíe con ornamentos, y puse ajorcas en tus brazos, y collar á tu cuello;
12Y puse joyas sobre tus narices, y zarcillos en tus orejas, y diadema de hermosura en tu cabeza.
13Y fuiste adornada de oro y de plata, y tu vestido fué lino, y seda, y bordado; comiste flor de harina de trigo, y miel, y aceite; y fuiste hermoseada en extremo, y has prosperado hasta reinar.
14Y salióte nombradía entre las gentes á causa de tu hermosura; porque era perfecta, á causa de mi hermosura que yo puse sobre ti, dice el Señor Jehová.
15Mas confiaste en tu hermosura, y fornicaste á causa de tu nombradía, y derramaste tus fornicaciones á cuantos pasaron; suya eras.
16Y tomaste de tus vestidos, é hicístete diversos altos lugares, y fornicaste en ellos: cosa semejante no vendrá, ni será así.
17Tomaste asimismo los vasos de tu hermosura de mi oro y de mi plata, que yo te había dado, é hicístete imágenes de hombre, y fornicaste con ellas.
18Y tomaste tus vestidos de diversos colores, y cubrístelas; y mi aceite y mi perfume pusiste delante de ellas.
19Mi pan también, que yo te había dado, la flor de la harina, y el aceite, y la miel, con que yo te mantuve, pusiste delante de ellas para olor suave; y fué así, dice el Señor Jehová.
20Demás de esto, tomaste tus hijos y tus hijas que me habías engendrado, y los sacrificaste á ellas para consumación. ¿Es poco, esto de tus fornicaciones?
21Y sacrificaste mis hijos, y dístelos á ellas para que los hiciesen pasar por el fuego.
22Y con todas tus abominaciones y tus fornicaciones no te has acordado de los días de tu mocedad, cuando estabas desnuda y descubierta, cuando estabas envuelta en tu sangre.
23Y fué que después de toda tu maldad (¡ay, ay de ti! dice el Señor Jehová,)
24Edificástete alto, y te hiciste altar en todas las plazas:
25En toda cabeza de camino edificaste tu altar, y tornaste abominable tu hermosura, y abriste tus piernas á cuantos pasaban, y multiplicaste tus fornicaciones.
26Y fornicaste con los hijos de Egipto, tus vecinos, de grandes carnes; y aumentaste tus fornicaciones para enojarme.
27Por tanto, he aquí que yo extendí sobre ti mi mano, y disminuí tu provisión ordinaria, y te entregué á la voluntad de las hijas de los Filisteos que te aborrecen, las cuales se avergüenzan de tu camino deshonesto.
28Fornicaste también con los hijos de Assur por no haberte hartado; y fornicaste con ellos, y tampoco te hartaste.
29Multiplicaste asimismo tu fornicación en la tierra de Canaán y de los Caldeos: ni tampoco con esto te hartaste.
30¡Cuán inconstante es tu corazón, dice el Señor Jehová, habiendo hecho todas estas cosas, obras de una poderosa ramera,
31Edificando tus altares en cabeza de todo camino, y haciendo tus altares en todas las plazas! Y no fuiste semejante á ramera, menospreciando el salario,
32Sino como mujer adúltera, por cuanto que en lugar de su marido recibe á ajenos.
33A todas las rameras dan dones; mas tú diste tus dones á todos tus enamorados; y les diste presentes, porque entrasen á ti de todas partes por tus fornicaciones.
34Y ha sido en ti al contrario de las mujeres en tus fornicaciones, ni nunca después de ti será así fornicado; porque en dar tú dones, y no ser dados dones á ti, ha sido al contrario.
35Por tanto, ramera, oye palabra de Jehová:
36Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto han sido descubiertas tus vergüenzas, y tu confusión ha sido manifestada á tus enamorados en tus fornicaciones, y á los ídolos de tus abominaciones, y en la sangre de tus hijos, los cuales les diste;
37Por tanto, he aquí que yo junto todos tus enamorados con los cuales tomaste placer, y todos los que amaste, con todos los que aborreciste; y reunirélos contra ti alrededor, y descubriréles tu vergüenza, y verán toda tu torpeza.
38Y yo te juzgaré por las leyes de las adúlteras, y de las que derraman sangre; y te daré en sangre de ira y de celo.
39Y te entregaré en mano de ellos: y destruirán tu alto, y derribarán tus altares, y te harán desnudar de tus ropas, y se llevarán los vasos de tu gloria, y te dejarán desnuda y descubierta.
40Y harán subir contra ti reunión de gente, y te apedrearán con piedras, y te atravesarán con sus espadas.
41Y quemarán tus casas á fuego, y harán en ti juicios á ojos de muchas mujeres; y hacerte he cesar de ser ramera, ni tampoco darás más don.
42Y haré reposar mi ira sobre ti, y apartaráse de ti mi celo, y descansaré de más enojarme.
43Por cuanto no te acordaste de los días de tu mocedad, y me provocaste á ira en todo esto, por eso, he aquí yo también he tornado tu camino sobre tu cabeza, dice el Señor Jehová; pues ni aun has pensado sobre todas tus abominaciones.
44He aquí que todo proverbista hará de ti proverbio, diciendo: Como la madre, tal su hija.
45Hija de tu madre eres tú, que desechó á su marido y á sus hijos; y hermana de tus hermanas eres tú, que desecharon á sus maridos y á sus hijos: vuestra madre fué Hethea, y vuestro padre Amorrheo.
46Y tu hermana mayor es Samaria con su hijas, la cual habita á tu mano izquierda; y tu hermana la menor que tú es Sodoma con sus hijas, la cual habita á tu mano derecha.
47Y aun no anduviste en sus caminos, ni hiciste según sus abominaciones; antes, como si esto fuera poco y muy poco, te corrompiste más que ellas en todos tus caminos.
48Vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, Sodoma tu hermana, con sus hijas, no ha hecho como hiciste tú y tus hijas.
49He aquí que esta fué la maldad de Sodoma tu hermana: soberbia, hartura de pan, y abundancia de ociosidad tuvo ella y sus hijas; y no corroboró la mano del afligido y del menesteroso.
50Y ensoberbeciéronse, é hicieron abominación delante de mí, y quitélas como vi bueno.
51Y Samaria no cometió ni la mitad de tus pecados; porque tú multiplicaste tus abominaciones más que ellas, y has justificado á tus hermanas con todas tus abominaciones que hiciste.
52Tú también, que juzgaste á tus hermanas, lleva tu vergüenza en tus pecados que hiciste más abominables que ellas: más justas son que tú: avergüénzate pues tú también, y lleva tu confusión, pues que has justificado á tus hermanas.
53Yo pues haré tornar sus cautivos, los cautivos de Sodoma y de sus hijas, y los cautivos de Samaria y de sus hijas, y los cautivos de tus cautiverios entre ellas,
54Para que tú lleves tu confusión, y te avergüences de todo lo que has hecho, siéndoles tú motivo de consuelo.
55Y tus hermanas, Sodoma con sus hijas y Samaria con sus hijas, volverán á su primer estado; tú también y tus hijas volveréis á vuestro primer estado.
56Sodoma, tu hermana, no fué nombrada en tu boca en el tiempo de tus soberbias,
57Antes que tu maldad se descubriese, como en el tiempo de la vergüenza de las hijas de Siria y de todas las hijas de los Filisteos alrededor, que te menosprecian en contorno.
58Tú has llevado tu enormidad y tus abominaciones, dice Jehová.
59Empero así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¿Haré yo contigo como tú hiciste, que menospreciaste el juramento para invalidar el pacto?
60Antes yo tendré memoria de mi pacto que concerté contigo en los días de tu mocedad, y te confirmaré un pacto sempiterno.
61Y acordarte has de tus caminos y te avergonzarás, cuando recibirás á tus hermanas, las mayores que tú con las menores que tú, las cuales yo te daré por hijas, mas no por tu pacto.
62Y confirmaré mi pacto contigo, y sabrás que yo soy Jehová;
63Para que te acuerdes, y te avergüences, y nunca más abras la boca á causa de tu vergüenza, cuando me aplacare para contigo de todo lo que hiciste, dice el Señor Jehová.

1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
4And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
5None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
6And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
7I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
8Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
9Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
10I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
11I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
12And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
13Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
14And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
15But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
16And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
17Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
18And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
19My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.
20Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
21That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
22And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
23And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)
24That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
25Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
26Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
27Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
28Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
29Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.
30How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
31In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
32But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
33They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
34And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
35Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
36Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
37Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
38And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
39And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
40They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
41And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
42So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
43Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
44Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
45Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
47Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
48As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
49Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
51Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
52Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
53When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:
54That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
55When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
56For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,
57Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.
58Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.
59For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
60Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
61Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
62And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:
63That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.

1Again the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations;
3and say, ‘The Lord GOD says to Jerusalem: “Your origin and your birth is of the land of the Canaanite. An Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite.
4As for your birth, in the day you were born your navel was not cut. You weren’t washed in water to cleanse you. You weren’t salted at all, nor wrapped in blankets at all.
5No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you, to have compassion on you; but you were cast out in the open field, because you were abhorred in the day that you were born.
6“‘“When I passed by you, and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you, ‘Though you are in your blood, live!’ Yes, I said to you, ‘Though you are in your blood, live!’
7I caused you to multiply as that which grows in the field, and you increased and grew great, and you attained to excellent beauty. Your breasts were formed, and your hair grew; yet you were naked and bare.
8“‘“Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my garment over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I pledged myself to you and entered into a covenant with you,” says the Lord GOD, “and you became mine.
9“‘“Then I washed you with water. Yes, I thoroughly washed away your blood from you, and I anointed you with oil.
10I clothed you also with embroidered work and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you with fine linen and covered you with silk.
11I decked you with ornaments, put bracelets on your hands, and put a chain on your neck.
12I put a ring on your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head.
13Thus you were decked with gold and silver. Your clothing was of fine linen, silk, and embroidered work. You ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You were exceedingly beautiful, and you prospered to royal estate.
14Your renown went out among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through my majesty which I had put on you,” says the Lord GOD.
15“‘“But you trusted in your beauty, and played the prostitute because of your renown, and poured out your prostitution on everyone who passed by. It was his.
16You took some of your garments, and made for yourselves high places decked with various colors, and played the prostitute on them. This shouldn’t happen, neither shall it be.
17You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and played the prostitute with them.
18You took your embroidered garments, covered them, and set my oil and my incense before them.
19My bread also which I gave you, fine flour, oil, and honey, with which I fed you, you even set it before them for a pleasant aroma; and so it was,” says the Lord GOD.
20“‘“Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to me, and you have sacrificed these to them to be devoured. Was your prostitution a small matter,
21that you have slain my children and delivered them up, in causing them to pass through the fire to them?
22In all your abominations and your prostitution you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were wallowing in your blood.
23“‘“It has happened after all your wickedness—woe, woe to you!” says the Lord GOD—
24“that you have built for yourselves a vaulted place, and have made yourselves a lofty place in every street.
25You have built your lofty place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty an abomination, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your prostitution.
26You have also committed sexual immorality with the Egyptians, your neighbors, great of flesh; and have multiplied your prostitution, to provoke me to anger.
27See therefore, I have stretched out my hand over you, and have diminished your portion, and delivered you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your lewd way.
28You have played the prostitute also with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; yes, you have played the prostitute with them, and yet you weren’t satisfied.
29You have moreover multiplied your prostitution to the land of merchants, to Chaldea; and yet you weren’t satisfied with this.
30“‘“How weak is your heart,” says the Lord GOD, “since you do all these things, the work of an impudent prostitute;
31in that you build your vaulted place at the head of every way, and make your lofty place in every street, and have not been as a prostitute, in that you scorn pay.
32“‘“Adulterous wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband!
33People give gifts to all prostitutes; but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them, that they may come to you on every side for your prostitution.
34You are different from other women in your prostitution, in that no one follows you to play the prostitute; and whereas you give hire, and no hire is given to you, therefore you are different.”’
35“Therefore, prostitute, hear the LORD’s word:
36‘The Lord GOD says, “Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your prostitution with your lovers; and because of all the idols of your abominations, and for the blood of your children, that you gave to them;
37therefore see, I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have taken pleasure, and all those whom you have loved, with all those whom you have hated. I will even gather them against you on every side, and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.
38I will judge you as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.
39I will also give you into their hand, and they will throw down your vaulted place, and break down your lofty places. They will strip you of your clothes and take your beautiful jewels. They will leave you naked and bare.
40They will also bring up a company against you, and they will stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords.

45You are the daughter of your mother, who loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells at your left hand, she and her daughters; and your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom with her daughters.
47Yet you have not walked in their ways, nor done their abominations; but soon you were more corrupt than they in all your ways.
48As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “Sodom your sister has not done, she nor her daughters, as you have done, you and your daughters.
49“‘“Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: pride, fullness of bread, and prosperous ease was in her and in her daughters. She also didn’t strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50They were arrogant and committed abomination before me. Therefore I took them away when I saw it.
51Samaria hasn’t committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters by all your abominations which you have done.
52You also bear your own shame yourself, in that you have given judgment for your sisters; through your sins that you have committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous than you. Yes, be also confounded, and bear your shame, in that you have justified your sisters.
53“‘“I will reverse their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of your captives among them;
54that you may bear your own shame, and may be ashamed because of all that you have done, in that you are a comfort to them.
55Your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, will return to their former estate; and Samaria and her daughters will return to their former estate; and you and your daughters will return to your former estate.
56For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride,
57before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all who are around her, the daughters of the Philistines, who despise you all around.
58You have borne your lewdness and your abominations,” says the LORD.
59“‘For the Lord GOD says: “I will also deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
60Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.
61Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, your elder sisters and your younger; and I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant.
62I will establish my covenant with you. Then you will know that I am the LORD;
63that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done,” says the Lord GOD.’”
