1Es kamen aber einige von den Ältesten Israels zu mir und ließen sich vor mir nieder.
2Da erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
3»Menschensohn, diese Männer haben ihre Götzen in ihr Herz geschlossen und sie als Anstoß zu ihrer Verschuldung vor sich hingestellt: sollte ich mich da noch von ihnen befragen lassen?«
4»Darum rede mit ihnen und sage zu ihnen: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Wenn irgend jemand aus dem Hause Israel seine Götzen in sein Herz geschlossen hat und sie als Anstoß zu seiner Verschuldung vor sich hinstellt und sich dennoch zu einem Propheten begibt: dem will ich, der HERR, persönlich die Antwort erteilen trotz der Menge seiner Götzen,
5um die vom Hause Israel, die sich um all ihrer Götzen willen von mir abgewandt haben, am Herzen zu fassen.‹
6So sage denn zum Hause Israel: ›So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: Kehrt um! Laßt euch von eurem Götzendienst bekehren und wendet eure Augen von all euren Greueln ab!
7Denn wenn irgend jemand vom Hause Israel und von den Fremden, die in Israel wohnen, sich von mir lossagt und seine Götzen in sein Herz schließt und sie als Anstoß zu seiner Verschuldung vor sich hinstellt und sich trotzdem zu einem Propheten begibt, um mich für sich zu befragen, so will ich, der HERR, selbst ihm die Antwort erteilen;
8und zwar will ich gegen den betreffenden Mann vorgehen und ihn zu einem warnenden Beispiel und zu einem Sprichwort machen: ich will ihn aus der Mitte meines Volkes ausrotten, damit ihr erkennet, daß ich der HERR bin.‹«
9»Wenn aber der Prophet sich dazu verleiten läßt, einen Ausspruch zu tun, dann habe ich, der HERR, diesen Propheten verleitet, und ich werde meine Hand gegen ihn ausstrecken und ihn aus der Mitte meines Volkes Israel ausrotten.
10So sollen sie beide für ihre Verschuldung büßen: der Prophet soll ebenso schuldig sein wie der Befragende,
11damit die vom Hause Israel fortan nicht mehr von mir abirren und sich nicht länger durch all ihre Abfallsünden beflecken; alsdann sollen sie mein Volk sein, und ich will ihr Gott sein« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.
12Darauf erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
13»Menschensohn, wenn ein Land sich gegen mich versündigte, indem es Treubruch beginge, und ich dann meine Hand gegen dieses Volk ausstreckte und ihm den Stab des Brotes zerbräche und Hungersnot ihm zusendete und Menschen samt Vieh in ihm ausrottete,
14und es befänden sich diese drei Männer in seiner Mitte, Noah, Daniel und Hiob: so würden nur diese drei ihr Leben infolge ihrer Gerechtigkeit retten« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.
15»Oder wenn ich wilde Tiere das Land durchstreifen ließe, damit sie es entvölkerten, auf daß es zu einer Einöde würde, die niemand mehr aus Furcht vor den wilden Tieren durchwanderte,
16und jene drei Männer befänden sich in seiner Mitte: so wahr ich lebe!« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, »sie würden weder Söhne noch Töchter retten: nein, sie allein würden gerettet, das Land aber würde zur Einöde werden.
17Oder wenn ich das Schwert über das betreffende Land kommen ließe und dem Schwert geböte, durch das Land dahinzufahren, und wenn ich dann Menschen samt Vieh darin ausrottete
18und jene drei Männer befänden sich in seiner Mitte: so wahr ich lebe!« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, »sie würden weder Söhne noch Töchter retten, sondern sie allein würden gerettet werden.
19Oder wenn ich die Pest in das betreffende Land schickte und meinen Grimm als Blut(-regen) über das Land ausgösse, um Menschen samt Vieh in ihm auszurotten,
20und Noah, Daniel und Hiob befänden sich in seiner Mitte: so wahr ich lebe!« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, »sie würden weder Sohn noch Tochter retten, sondern durch ihre Gerechtigkeit nur ihr eigenes Leben retten.«
21Und doch hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: »Trotz alledem, wenn ich meine vier schlimmen Strafgerichte: Schwert und Hunger, wilde Tiere und Pest, über Jerusalem hereinbrechen lasse, um Menschen samt Vieh darin auszurotten,
22fürwahr, so soll doch eine Schar von Geretteten in der Stadt übrigbleiben, welche Söhne und Töchter aus ihr herausführen. Seht, wenn diese dann zu euch hierher kommen und ihr ihren Wandel und ihr ganzes Tun seht, so werdet ihr euch über das Unglück trösten, das ich über Jerusalem verhängt habe, über alle Leiden, die ich über die Stadt habe kommen lassen.
23Sie werden euch dann einen Trost gewähren, wenn ihr ihren Wandel und ihr ganzes Tun seht, und ihr werdet erkennen, daß ich alles, was ich ihr habe widerfahren lassen, nicht ohne Grund getan habe« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

1Y VINIERON á mí algunos de los ancianos de Israel, y sentáronse delante de mí.
2Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
3Hijo del hombre, estos hombres han puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro: ¿acaso he de ser yo verdaderamente consultado por ellos?
4Háblales por tanto, y diles: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel que hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido el tropiezo de su maldad delante de su rostro, y viniere al profeta, yo Jehová responderé al que viniere en la multitud de sus ídolos;
5Para tomar á la casa de Israel en su corazón, que se han apartado de mí todos ellos en sus ídolos.
6Por tanto di á la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Jehová: Convertíos, y volveos de vuestros ídolos, y apartad vuestro rostro de todas vuestras abominaciones.
7Porque cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel, y de los extranjeros que moran en Israel, que se hubiere apartado de andar en pos de mí, y hubiere puesto sus ídolos en su corazón, y establecido delante de su rostro el tropiezo de su maldad, y viniere al profeta para preguntarle por mí, yo Jehová le responderé por mí mismo:
8Y pondré mi rostro contra aquel hombre, y le pondré por señal y por fábula, y yo lo cortaré de entre mi pueblo; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
9Y el profeta, cuando fuere engañado y hablare palabra, yo Jehová engañé al tal profeta; y extenderé mi mano sobre él, y raeréle de en medio de mi pueblo de Israel.
10Y llevarán su maldad: como la maldad del que pregunta, así será la maldad del profeta;
11Para que no yerren más la casa de Israel de en pos de mí: ni más se contaminen en todas sus rebeliones, y me sean por pueblo, y yo les sea por Dios, dice el Señor Jehová.
12Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
13Hijo del hombre, cuando la tierra pecare contra mí rebelándose pérfidamente, y extendiere yo mi mano sobre ella, y le quebrantare el arrimo del pan, y enviare en ella hambre, y talare de ella hombres y bestias;
14Si estuvieren en medio de ella estos tres varones, Noé, Daniel, y Job, ellos por su justicia librarán su vida, dice el Señor Jehová.
15Y si hiciere pasar malas bestias por la tierra, y la asolaren, y fuere desolada que no haya quien pase á causa de las bestias,
16Y estos tres varones estuvieren en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, ni á sus hijos ni á sus hijas librarán; ellos solos serán libres, y la tierra será asolada.
17O si yo trajere espada sobre la tierra, y dijere: Espada, pasa por la tierra; é hiciere talar de ella hombres y bestias,
18Y estos tres varones estuvieren en medio de ella, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, no librarán sus hijos ni sus hijas; ellos solos serán libres.
19O si pestilencia enviare sobre esa tierra, y derramare mi ira sobre ella en sangre, para talar de ella hombres y bestias,
20Y estuvieren en medio de ella Noé, Daniel, y Job, vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, no librarán hijo ni hija; ellos por su justicia librarán su vida.
21Por lo cual así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¿Cuánto más, si mis cuatro malos juicios, espada, y hambre, y mala bestia, y pestilencia, enviare contra Jerusalem, para talar de ella hombres y bestias?
22Sin embargo, he aquí quedarán en ella algunos residuos, hijos é hijas, que serán llevados fuera: he aquí que ellos entrarán á vosotros, y veréis su camino y sus hechos; y tomaréis consolación del mal que hice venir sobre Jerusalem, de todas las cosas que traje sobre ella.
23Y consolaros han cuando viereis su camino y sus hechos, y conoceréis que no sin causa hice todo lo que habré hecho en ella, dice el Señor Jehová.

1Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
2And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
3Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
4Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
5That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
6Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
7For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:
8And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
9And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
10And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
11That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.
12The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
13Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
14Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
15If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
16Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.
17Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
18Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
19Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
20Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
21For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
22Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
23And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.

1Then some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.
2The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
3“Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face. Should I be inquired of at all by them?
4Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Every man of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him there according to the multitude of his idols,
5that I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.”’
6“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Return, and turn yourselves from your idols! Turn away your faces from all your abominations.
7“‘“For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live in Israel, who separates himself from me and takes his idols into his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet to inquire for himself of me, I the LORD will answer him by myself.
8I will set my face against that man and will make him an astonishment, for a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from among my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
9“‘“If the prophet is deceived and speaks a word, I, the LORD, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand on him, and will destroy him from among my people Israel.
10They will bear their iniquity. The iniquity of the prophet will be even as the iniquity of him who seeks him,
11that the house of Israel may no more go astray from me, neither defile themselves any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God,” says the Lord GOD.’”
12The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
13“Son of man, when a land sins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand on it, and break the staff of its bread and send famine on it, and cut off from it man and animal—
14though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only their own souls by their righteousness,” says the Lord GOD.
15“If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it and it is made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals—
16though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They only would be delivered, but the land would be desolate.
17“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off from it man and animal’—
18though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only would be delivered themselves.
19“Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal—
20though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live,” says the Lord GOD, “they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only their own souls by their righteousness.”
21For the Lord GOD says: “How much more when I send my four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword, the famine, the evil animals, and the pestilence—to cut off from it man and animal!
22Yet, behold, there will be left a remnant in it that will be carried out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they will come out to you, and you will see their way and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it.
23They will comfort you, when you see their way and their doings; then you will know that I have not done all that I have done in it without cause,” says the Lord GOD.
