1Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots :
2Fils de l'homme, prophétise contre les prophètes d'Israël qui prophétisent, et dis à ceux qui prophétisent d'après leurs sentiments propres : Écoutez la parole de l'Éternel !
3Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Malheur aux prophètes insensés qui suivent leur esprit propre, et ne voient rien !
4Tels des renards dans des ruines, tels sont tes prophètes, Israël.
5Vous ne montez pas à la brèche, et n'élevez point de mur autour de la maison d'Israël, afin de tenir ferme dans le combat à la journée de l'Éternel.
6Ils ont des visions trompeuses, et des présages menteurs, ceux qui disent : « L'Éternel a dit, » tandis que l'Éternel ne les a point envoyés ; et qui font espérer les effets de leur parole.
7Vos visions ne sont-elles pas trompeuses, et vos présages menteurs, quand vous dites : « L'Éternel a dit, » tandis que je n'ai point parlé ?
8Aussi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Parce que vos discours sont trompeurs et vos visions des mensonges, pour cela, c'est à vous que j'en veux, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
9Et je ferai sentir ma main aux prophètes dont les visions sont trompeuses et les présages menteurs. Ils ne seront point associés à mon peuple, ni inscrits au rôle de la maison d'Israël, ni introduits au pays d'Israël, afin que vous sachiez que je suis le Seigneur, l'Éternel ;
10eparce que, oui, parce qu'ils égarent mon peuple en disant : Salut ! tandis qu'il n'y a point de salut, et que, s'il élève un mur, eux ils le recouvrent de plâtre.
11Dis à ceux qui replâtrent, qu'il s'écroulera : il pleuvra par torrents, et vous, pierres de la grêle, vous tomberez et le vent des tempêtes éclatera.
12Et voici, le mur croulera. Ne vous dira-t-on pas : Où est le plâtre dont vous l'avez recouvert ?
13Aussi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Dans ma fureur je ferai éclater le vent des tempêtes, et dans ma colère la pluie viendra par torrents, avec les pierres de la grêle dans mon courroux, afin de détruire.
14Et je ferai crouler le mur que vous recouvrîtes de plâtre, et je le coucherai par terre, et ses fondements seront mis à nu ; il est tombé et vous périssez sous ses ruines, afin que vous sachiez que je suis l'Éternel.
15Et ainsi j'assouvirai ma fureur sur ce mur et sur ceux qui le recouvrent de plâtre ; puis je vous dirai : Le mur n'est plus ; ils ne sont plus ceux qui le replâtraient,
16les prophètes d'Israël, qui prophétisent à Jérusalem, et dont les visions lui présagent le salut, tandis qu'il n'y a pas de salut, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
17Et toi, fils de l'homme, tourne tes regards du côté des filles de ton peuple qui prophétisent d'après leur sentiment propre, et prophétise contre elles !
18et dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Malheur à vous qui cousez des coussinets pour toutes les jointures de la main, et faites des oreillers pour les têtes de toutes les tailles, pour prendre les âmes au piège ! Penseriez-vous prendre au piège les âmes de mon peuple, et conserver la vie aux vôtres ?
19Vous me déshonorez auprès de mon peuple pour quelques poignées d'orge et pour quelques bouchées de pain, en annonçant la mort aux âmes qui ne doivent pas mourir, et la vie aux âmes qui ne doivent pas vivre ; en trompant mon peuple qui prête l'oreille au mensonge. Aussi, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel :
20Voici, je m'attaque à vos oreillers où vous prenez les âmes au piège, afin qu'elles s'envolent, et je les arracherai de vos bras, et je dégagerai les âmes que vous prenez au piège, afin qu'elles s'envolent.
21Et je mettrai vos oreillers en pièces, et je tirerai mon peuple de vos mains, afin qu'il ne soit plus une proie entre vos mains et que vous sachiez que je suis l'Éternel.
22Parce que vous affligez le cœur du juste par le mensonge, quand moi-même je ne l'ai pas affligé, et parce que vous fortifiez le méchant dans ce qu'il fait, en sorte qu'il ne quitte pas sa mauvaise voie pour obtenir la vie,
23à cause de cela, vous n'aurez plus vos visions mensongères et vous ne ferez plus de prédictions, et je tirerai mon peuple de vos mains, afin que vous sachiez que je suis l'Éternel.

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2Hijo del hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel que profetizan, y di á los que profetizan de su corazón: Oid palabra de Jehová.
3Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de los profetas insensatos, que andan en pos de su propio espíritu, y nada vieron!
4Como zorras en los desiertos fueron tus profetas, oh Israel.
5No habéis subido á los portillos, ni echasteis vallado en la casa de Israel, estando en la batalla en el día de Jehová.
6Vieron vanidad y adivinación de mentira. Dicen: Ha dicho Jehová; y Jehová no los envió: y hacen esperar que se confirme la palabra.
7¿No habéis visto visión vana, y no habéis dicho adivinación de mentira, por cuanto decís, Dijo Jehová; no habiendo yo hablado?
8Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto vosotros habéis hablado vanidad, y habéis visto mentira, por tanto, he aquí yo contra vosotros, dice el Señor Jehová.
9Y será mi mano contra los profetas que ven vanidad, y adivinan mentira: no serán en la congregación de mi pueblo, ni serán escritos en el libro de la casa de Israel, ni á la tierra de Israel volverán; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová.
10Por tanto, y por cuanto engañaron á mi pueblo, diciendo, Paz, no habiendo paz; y el uno edificaba la pared, y he aquí que los otros la encostraban con lodo suelto;
11Di á los encostradores con lodo suelto, que caerá; vendrá lluvia inundante, y daré piedras de granizo que la hagan caer, y viento tempestuoso la romperá.
12Y he aquí, cuando la pared habrá caído, no os dirán: ¿Dónde está la embarradura con que encostrasteis?
13Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Y haré que la rompa viento tempestuoso con mi ira, y lluvia inundante vendrá con mi furor, y piedras de granizo con enojo para consumir.
14Así desbarataré la pared que vosotros encostrasteis con lodo suelto, y echaréla á tierra, y será descubierto su cimiento, y caerá, y seréis consumidos en medio de ella; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
15Cumpliré así mi furor en la pared y en los que la encostraron con lodo suelto; y os diré: No existe la pared, ni aquellos que la encostraron,
16Los profetas de Israel que profetizan á Jerusalem, y ven para ella visión de paz, no habiendo paz, dice el Señor Jehová.
17Y tú, hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro á las hijas de tu pueblo que profetizan de su corazón, y profetiza contra ellas,
18Y di: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: ¡Ay de aquellas que cosen almohadillas á todos codos de manos, y hacen veletes sobre la cabeza de toda edad para cazar las almas! ¿Habéis de cazar las almas de mi pueblo, para mantener así vuestra propia vida?
19¿Y habéis de profanarme entre mi pueblo por puñados de cebada y por pedazos de pan, matando las almas que no mueren, y dando vida á las almas que no vivirán, mintiendo á mi pueblo que escucha la mentira?
20Por tanto, así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: He aquí yo contra vuestras almohadillas, con que cazáis ahí las almas volando; yo las arrancaré de vuestros brazos, y dejaré las almas, las almas que cazáis volando.
21Romperé asimismo vuestros veletes, y libraré mi pueblo de vuestra mano, y no estarán más en vuestra mano para caza; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.
22Por cuanto entristecisteis con mentira el corazón del justo, al cual yo no entristecí, y esforzasteis las manos del impío, para que no se apartase de su mal camino, infundiéndole ánimo;
23Por tanto no veréis vanidad, ni más adivinaréis adivinación; y libraré mi pueblo de vuestra mano; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
3Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
4O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
5Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
6They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
7Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
8Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
9And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
10Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:
11Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.
12Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
13Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.
14So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
15Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;
16To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD.
17Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,
18And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you?
19And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
20Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.
21Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
22Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
23Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

1The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, ‘Hear the LORD’s word:
3The Lord GOD says, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
4Israel, your prophets have been like foxes in the waste places.
5You have not gone up into the gaps or built up the wall for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the LORD’s day.
6They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, ‘The LORD says;’ but the LORD has not sent them. They have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.
7Haven’t you seen a false vision, and haven’t you spoken a lying divination, in that you say, ‘The LORD says;’ but I have not spoken?”
8“‘Therefore the Lord GOD says: “Because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you,” says the Lord GOD.
9“My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who utter lying divinations. They will not be in the council of my people, neither will they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither will they enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.”
10“‘Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, “Peace;” and there is no peace. When one builds up a wall, behold, they plaster it with whitewash.
11Tell those who plaster it with whitewash that it will fall. There will be an overflowing shower; and you, great hailstones, will fall. A stormy wind will tear it.
12Behold, when the wall has fallen, won’t it be said to you, “Where is the plaster with which you have plastered it?”
13“‘Therefore the Lord GOD says: “I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath. There will be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it.
14So I will break down the wall that you have plastered with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered. It will fall, and you will be consumed in the middle of it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
15Thus I will accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have plastered it with whitewash. I will tell you, ‘The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it—
16to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace,’” says the Lord GOD.’”
17You, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them,
18and say, “The Lord GOD says: ‘Woe to the women who sew magic bands on all elbows and make veils for the head of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people and save souls alive for yourselves?
19You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to kill the souls who should not die and to save the souls alive who should not live, by your lying to my people who listen to lies.’
20“Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against your magic bands, with which you hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms. I will let the souls fly free, even the souls whom you ensnare like birds.
21I will also tear your veils and deliver my people out of your hand; and they will no longer be in your hand to be ensnared. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
22Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive.
23Therefore you shall no more see false visions nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
