1Und danach kamen Mose und Aharon und sprachen zu Pharao: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Entlasse Mein Volk, daß sie Mir ein Fest feiern in der Wüste.
2Und Pharao sprach: Wer ist der Jehovah, auf Dessen Stimme ich hören soll, Israel zu entlassen? Ich kenne den Jehovah nicht und entlasse auch Israel nicht.
3Und sie sprachen: Der Gott der Hebräer ist uns begegnet. Laß uns doch einen Weg von drei Tagreisen in die Wüste ziehen, daß wir Jehovah, unserem Gott, opfern, auf daß Er nicht mit Pest oder dem Schwerte auf uns stoße.
4Und der König von Ägypten sprach zu ihnen: Warum wollt ihr, Mose und Aharon, das Volk von seinen Werken abwendig machen? Geht an eure Lasten!
5Und Pharao sprach: Siehe, viel ist schon des Volkes im Lande und ihr wollt sie von ihren Lasten feiern lassen?
6Und an jenem Tage gebot Pharao den Fronvögten im Volk und seinen Vorstehern, und sprach:
7Gebet nicht ferner Stroh dem Volke zum Ziegelmachen, wie gestern und ehegestern. Lasset sie gehen und selber sich Stroh zusammenstoppeln.
8Und das Maß der Ziegel, die sie gestern und ehegestern machten, leget ihnen auf, nehmet nichts weg davon. Lässig sind sie, deshalb schreien sie und sagen: Lasset uns gehen, daß wir unserem Gotte opfern.
9Schwer sei der Dienst auf den Männern, und lasset sie ihn tun und nicht nach lügenhaften Worten schauen.
10Und die Fronvögte des Volkes und seine Vorsteher gingen hinaus und sprachen zu dem Volk und sagten: So spricht Pharao: Ich gebe euch kein Stroh.
11Gehet selber und nehmet euch Stroh, wo ihr es findet. Doch vom Dienst wird euch nichts abgezogen.
12Und das Volk zerstreute sich im ganzen Land Ägypten, um Stoppeln für das Stroh zusammenzutragen.
13Und die Fronvögte trieben sie an und sprachen: Vollendet euer Werk, das Tagewerk an seinem Tage, wie, da ihr Stroh hattet.
14Und die Vorsteher der Söhne Israels, welche die Fronvögte Pharaos über sie gesetzt, wurden geschlagen, indem man sagte: Warum habt ihr nicht vollendet eure Satzung Ziegel zu machen wie gestern und ehegestern, weder gestern noch heute?
15Und die Vorsteher der Söhne Israels kamen und schrien vor Pharao und sprachen: Warum tust du also deinen Knechten?
16Stroh wird deinen Knechten keines gegeben, und sie sagen uns: Ihr habet Ziegel zu machen, und siehe, deine Knechte schlägt man, und dein Volk hat gesündigt.
17Und er sprach: Lässig seid ihr, lässig, deshalb sprecht ihr: Lasset uns gehen und dem Jehovah opfern.
18Und nun gehet und dienet; und Stroh wird euch keines gegeben; aber euer Maß Ziegel habt ihr zu geben.
19Und die Vorsteher der Söhne Israels sahen, daß sie übel daran waren; denn man sagte: Ihr dürfet von euern Ziegeln nichts ablassen, vom Tagewerk an seinem Tage.
20Und sie stießen auf Mose und Aharon, die sich ihnen gegenüberstellten, als sie von Pharao herauskamen;
21Und sie sprachen zu ihnen: Jehovah sehe auf euch und richte. Ihr habt unseren Geruch stinkend gemacht in den Augen Pharaos und in den Augen seiner Knechte, um ihnen das Schwert in die Hand zu geben, uns zu erwürgen.
22Und Mose kehrte zu Jehovah zurück und sprach: Herr, warum hast Du diesem Volk übel getan? Warum hast Du mich denn gesandt?
23Und seitdem ich zu Pharao gekommen bin, um in Deinem Namen zu reden, hat er diesem Volke Böses getan, und Du hast Dein Volk nicht errettet.

1DESPUÉS entraron Moisés y Aarón á Faraón, y le dijeron: Jehová, el Dios de Israel, dice así: Deja ir á mi pueblo á celebrarme fiesta en el desierto.
2Y Faraón respondió: ¿Quién es Jehová, para que yo oiga su voz y deje ir á Israel? Yo no conozco á Jehová, ni tampoco dejaré ir á Israel.
3Y ellos dijeron: El Dios de los Hebreos nos ha encontrado: iremos, pues, ahora camino de tres días por el desierto, y sacrificaremos á Jehová nuestro Dios; porque no venga sobre nosotros con pestilencia ó con espada.
4Entonces el rey de Egipto les dijo: Moisés y Aarón, ¿por qué hacéis cesar al pueblo de su obra? idos á vuestros cargos.
5Dijo también Faraón: He aquí el pueblo de la tierra es ahora mucho, y vosotros les hacéis cesar de sus cargos.
6Y mandó Faraón aquel mismo día á los cuadrilleros del pueblo que le tenían á su cargo, y á sus gobernadores, diciendo:
7De aquí adelante no daréis paja al pueblo para hacer ladrillo, como ayer y antes de ayer; vayan ellos y recojan por sí mismos la paja:
8Y habéis de ponerles la tarea del ladrillo que hacían antes, y no les disminuiréis nada; porque están ociosos, y por eso levantan la voz diciendo: Vamos y sacrificaremos á nuestro Dios.
9Agrávese la servidumbre sobre ellos, para que se ocupen en ella, y no atiendan á palabras de mentira.
10Y saliendo los cuadrilleros del pueblo y sus gobernadores, hablaron al pueblo, diciendo: Así ha dicho Faraón: Yo no os doy paja.
11Id vosotros, y recoged paja donde la hallareis; que nada se disminuirá de vuestra tarea.
12Entonces el pueblo se derramó por toda la tierra de Egipto á coger rastrojo en lugar de paja.
13Y los cuadrilleros los apremiaban, diciendo: Acabad vuestra obra, la tarea del día en su día, como cuando se os daba paja.
14Y azotaban á los capataces de los hijos de Israel, que los cuadrilleros de Faraón habían puesto sobre ellos, diciendo: ¿Por qué no habéis cumplido vuestra tarea de ladrillo ni ayer ni hoy, como antes?
15Y los capataces de los hijos de Israel vinieron á Faraón, y se quejaron á él, diciendo: ¿Por qué lo haces así con tus siervos?
16No se da paja á tus siervos, y con todo nos dicen: Haced el ladrillo. Y he aquí tus siervos son azotados, y tu pueblo cae en falta.
17Y él respondió: Estáis ociosos, sí, ociosos, y por eso decís: Vamos y sacrifiquemos á Jehová.
18Id pues ahora, y trabajad. No se os dará paja, y habéis de dar la tarea del ladrillo.
19Entonces los capataces de los hijos de Israel se vieron en aflicción, habiéndoseles dicho: No se disminuirá nada de vuestro ladrillo, de la tarea de cada día.
20Y encontrando á Moisés y á Aarón, que estaban á la vista de ellos cuando salían de Faraón,
21Dijéronles: Mire Jehová sobre vosotros, y juzgue; pues habéis hecho heder nuestro olor delante de Faraón y de sus siervos, dándoles el cuchillo en las manos para que nos maten.
22Entonces Moisés se volvió á Jehová, y dijo: Señor, ¿por qué afliges á este pueblo? ¿para qué me enviaste?
23Porque desde que yo vine á Faraón para hablarle en tu nombre, ha afligido á este pueblo; y tú tampoco has librado á tu pueblo.

1And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.
2And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.
3And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.
4And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
5And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
6And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying,
7Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.
8And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
9Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.
10And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.
11Go ye, get you straw where ye can find it: yet not ought of your work shall be diminished.
12So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.
13And the taskmasters hasted them, saying, Fulfil your works, your daily tasks, as when there was straw.
14And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore?
15Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?
16There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.
17But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.
18Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.
19And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.
20And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:
21And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.
22And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
23For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

1Afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said to Pharaoh, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’”
2Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I don’t know the LORD, and moreover I will not let Israel go.”
3They said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD, our God, lest he fall on us with pestilence, or with the sword.”
4The king of Egypt said to them, “Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens!”
5Pharaoh said, “Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens.”
6The same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying,
7“You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.
8You shall require from them the number of the bricks which they made before. You shall not diminish anything of it, for they are idle. Therefore they cry, saying, ‘Let’s go and sacrifice to our God.’
9Let heavier work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it. Don’t let them pay any attention to lying words.”
10The taskmasters of the people went out with their officers, and they spoke to the people, saying, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you straw.
11Go yourselves, get straw where you can find it, for nothing of your work shall be diminished.’”
12So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.
13The taskmasters were urgent saying, “Fulfill your work quota daily, as when there was straw!”
14The officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and were asked, “Why haven’t you fulfilled your quota both yesterday and today, in making brick as before?”
15Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, saying, “Why do you deal this way with your servants?
16No straw is given to your servants, and they tell us, ‘Make brick!’ and behold, your servants are beaten; but the fault is in your own people.”
17But Pharaoh said, “You are idle! You are idle! Therefore you say, ‘Let’s go and sacrifice to the LORD.’
18Go therefore now, and work; for no straw shall be given to you; yet you shall deliver the same number of bricks!”
19The officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble when it was said, “You shall not diminish anything from your daily quota of bricks!”
20They met Moses and Aaron, who stood along the way, as they came out from Pharaoh.
21They said to them, “May the LORD look at you and judge, because you have made us a stench to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us!”
22Moses returned to the LORD, and said, “Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Why is it that you have sent me?
23For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people. You have not rescued your people at all!”
