1E Mosè rispose, e disse: Ma ecco, essi non mi crederanno, e non ubbidiranno alla mia voce; perciocchè diranno: Il Signore non ti è apparito.
2E il Signore gli disse: Che cosa è questa che tu hai in mano? Ed egli rispose: Una bacchetta.
3E il Signore gli disse: Gittala in terra. Ed egli la gittò in terra; ed ella divenne un serpente; e Mosè fuggì d'innanzi a quello.
4Ma il Signore disse a Mosè: Stendi la tua mano, e prendilo per la coda. Ed egli stese la mano, e lo prese; ed esso divenne bacchetta nella sua mano.
5Così farai, disse Iddio, acciocchè credano che il Signore Iddio de' lor padri, l'Iddio di Abrahamo, l'Iddio d'Isacco e l'Iddio di Giacobbe, ti è apparito.
6Il Signore gli disse ancora: Mettiti ora la mano in seno. Ed egli si mise la mano in seno; poi, trattala fuori, ecco, la sua mano era lebbrosa, bianca come neve.
7Poi gli disse: Rimettiti la mano in seno. Ed egli si rimise la mano in seno; poi, trattasela fuor del seno, ecco, era tornata come l'altra sua carne.
8Se dunque, disse il Signore, non ti credono, e non ubbidiscono alla tua voce al primo segno, ubbidiranno alla tua voce, al secondo segno.
9E se egli avviene che non pure a questi due segni credano, e non ubbidiscano alla tua voce; allora prendi dell'acqua del fiume, e spandila in su l'asciutto; e l'acqua che tu avrai presa dal fiume diventerà sangue in su l'asciutto.
10E Mosè disse al Signore: Ahi! Signore, io non son mai per addietro stato uomo ben parlante, non pur da che tu parlasti al tuo servitore; conciossiachè io sia tardo di bocca e di lingua.
11E il Signore gli disse: Chi ha posta la bocca all'uomo? ovvero, chi fa il mutolo, o il sordo, o colui che ha gli occhi, e gli orecchi aperti, o il cieco? non son desso io, il Signore?
12Ora dunque va', ed io sarò con la tua bocca, e t'insegnerò ciò che avrai a dire.
13E Mosè disse: Ahi! Signore; deh! manda a far questo per colui il qual tu hai a mandare.
14Allora l'ira del Signore si accese contro a Mosè; ed egli gli disse: Non so io che Aaronne, tuo fratello, Levita, è uomo ben parlante? e anche, ecco, egli se n'esce fuori a incontrarti; e, veggendoti, si rallegrerà nel suo cuore.
15Parlagli adunque, e mettigli in bocca queste parole, ed io sarò con la tua bocca, e con la sua, e v'insegnerò ciò che avrete a fare.
16Ed egli parlerà per te al popolo; e così egli ti sarà in luogo di bocca, e tu gli sarai in luogo di Dio.
17Or prendi questa bacchetta in mano, acciocchè con essa tu faccia que' segni.
18MOSÈ adunque andò; e, ritornato a Ietro, suo suocero, gli disse: Deh! lascia che io me ne vada, e ritorni a' miei fratelli che sono in Egitto e vegga se sono ancora vivi. E Ietro gli disse: Vattene in pace.
19Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè nel paese di Madian: Va', ritornatene in Egitto; perciocchè tutti coloro che cercavano l'anima tua son morti.
20Mosè adunque prese la sua moglie e i suoi figliuoli; e, postili sopra degli asini, se ne ritornava in Egitto. Mosè prese ancora la bacchetta di Dio nella sua mano.
21E il Signore disse a Mosè: Poichè tu te ne vai per ritornare in Egitto, vedi, fa' davanti a Faraone tutti i miracoli che io ti ho posti in mano; ma io gl'indurerò il cuore, talchè egli non lascerà andare il popolo.
22E tu dirai a Faraone: Così dice il Signore: Israele è mio figliuolo, il mio primogenito.
23Or io ti ho detto: Lascia andare il mio figliuolo, acciocchè mi serva; e tu hai ricusato di lasciarlo andare; ecco, io uccido il tuo figliuolo, il tuo primogenito.
24Ora, essendo Mosè per cammino, in un albergo, il Signore l'incontrò, e cercava di farlo morire.
25E Sippora prese una selce tagliente, e tagliò il prepuzio del suo figliuolo, e lo gittò a' piedi di Mosè, e disse: Certo tu mi sei uno sposo di sangue.
26E il Signore lo lasciò. Allora ella disse: Sposo di sangue, per le circoncisioni.
27E il Signore disse ad Aaronne: Va' incontro a Mosè verso il deserto. Ed egli andò, e lo scontrò, al Monte di Dio, e lo baciò.
28E Mosè dichiarò ad Aaronne tutte le parole del Signore, per le quali lo mandava, e tutti i segni che gli avea comandato di fare.
29Mosè adunque, ed Aaronne, andarono, e adunarono tutti gli Anziani de' figliuoli d'Israele.
30E Aaronne annunziò loro tutte le parole che il Signore avea dette a Mosè, e fece que' segni nel cospetto del popolo.
31E il popolo credette, e intese che il Signore visitava i figliuoli d'Israele; e ch'egli avea veduta la loro afflizione. Ed essi s'inchinarono, e adorarono.

1ENTONCES Moisés respondió, y dijo: He aquí que ellos no me creerán, ni oirán mi voz; porque dirán: No te ha aparecido Jehová.
2Y Jehová dijo: ¿Qué es eso que tienes en tu mano? Y él respondió: Una vara.
3Y él le dijo: Échala en tierra. Y él la echó en tierra, y tornóse una culebra: y Moisés huía de ella.
4Entonces dijo Jehová á Moisés: Extiende tu mano, y tómala por la cola. Y él extendió su mano, y tomóla, y tornóse vara en su mano.
5Por esto creerán que se te ha aparecido Jehová, el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac y Dios de Jacob.
6Y díjole más Jehová: Mete ahora tu mano en tu seno. Y él metió la mano en su seno; y como la sacó, he aquí que su mano estaba leprosa como la nieve.
7Y dijo: Vuelve á meter tu mano en tu seno: y él volvió á meter su mano en su seno; y volviéndola á sacar del seno, he aquí que se había vuelto como la otra carne.
8Sí aconteciere, que no te creyeren, ni obedecieren á la voz de la primera señal, creerán á la voz de la postrera.
9Y si aun no creyeren á estas dos señales, ni oyeren tu voz, tomarás de las aguas del río, y derrámalas en tierra; y volverse han aquellas aguas que tomarás del río, se volverán sangre en la tierra.
10Entonces dijo Moisés á Jehová: ¡Ay Señor! yo no soy hombre de palabras de ayer ni de anteayer, ni aun desde que tú hablas á tu siervo; porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.
11Y Jehová le respondió: ¿Quién dió la boca al hombre? ¿ó quién hizo al mudo y al sordo, al que ve y al ciego? ¿no soy yo Jehová?
12Ahora pues, ve, que yo seré en tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que hayas de hablar.
13Y él dijo: ¡Ay Señor! envía por mano del que has de enviar.
14Entonces Jehová se enojó contra Moisés, y dijo: ¿No conozco yo á tu hermano Aarón, Levita, y que él hablará? Y aun he aquí que él te saldrá á recibir, y en viéndote, se alegrará en su corazón.
15Tú hablarás á él, y pondrás en su boca las palabras, y yo seré en tu boca y en la suya, y os enseñaré lo que hayáis de hacer.
16Y él hablará por ti al pueblo; y él te será á ti en lugar de boca, y tú serás para él en lugar de Dios.
17Y tomarás esta vara en tu mano, con la cual harás las señales.
18Así se fué Moisés, y volviendo á su suegro Jethro, díjole: Iré ahora, y volveré á mis hermanos que están en Egipto, para ver si aun viven. Y Jethro dijo á Moisés: Ve en paz.
19Dijo también Jehová á Moisés en Madián: Ve, y vuélvete á Egipto, porque han muerto todos los que procuraban tu muerte.
20Entonces Moisés tomó su mujer y sus hijos, y púsolos sobre un asno, y volvióse á tierra de Egipto: tomó también Moisés la vara de Dios en su mano.
21Y dijo Jehová á Moisés: Cuando hubiereis vuelto á Egipto, mira que hagas delante de Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano: yo empero endureceré su corazón, de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.
22Y dirás á Faraón: Jehová ha dicho así: Israel es mi hijo, mi primogénito.
23Ya te he dicho que dejes ir á mi hijo, para que me sirva, mas no has querido dejarlo ir: he aquí yo voy á matar á tu hijo, tu primogénito.
24Y aconteció en el camino, que en una posada le salió al encuentro Jehová, y quiso matarlo.
25Entonces Séphora cogió un afilado pedernal, y cortó el prepucio de su hijo, y echólo á sus pies, diciendo: A la verdad tú me eres un esposo de sangre.
26Así le dejó luego ir. Y ella dijo: Esposo de sangre, á causa de la circuncisión.
27Y Jehová dijo á Aarón: Ve á recibir á Moisés al desierto. Y él fué, y encontrólo en el monte de Dios, y besóle.
28Entonces contó Moisés á Aarón todas las palabras de Jehová que le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había dado.
29Y fueron Moisés y Aarón, y juntaron todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel:
30Y habló Aarón todas las palabras que Jehová había dicho á Moisés, é hizo las señales delante de los ojos del pueblo.
31Y el pueblo creyó: y oyendo que Jehová había visitado los hijos de Israel, y que había visto su aflicción, inclináronse y adoraron.

1And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
2And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
3And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
4And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
5That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
6And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.
7And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
8And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
9And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
10And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
12Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
13And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
14And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
15And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
16And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
17And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
18And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
19And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
20And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
21And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
22And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
23And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.
24And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
25Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
26So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
27And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
28And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
29And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
30And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
31And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

1Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘The LORD has not appeared to you.’”
2The LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”
3He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it.
4The LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.
5“This is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”
6The LORD said furthermore to him, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.
7He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.
8“It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
9It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”
10Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”
11The LORD said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, the LORD?
12Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.”
13Moses said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”
14The LORD’s anger burned against Moses, and he said, “What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he is coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
15You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.
16He will be your spokesman to the people. It will happen that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.
17You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”
18Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive.” Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.”
19The LORD said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”
20Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God’s rod in his hand.
21The LORD said to Moses, “When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.
22You shall tell Pharaoh, ‘The LORD says, Israel is my son, my firstborn,
23and I have said to you, “Let my son go, that he may serve me;” and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your firstborn son.’”
24On the way at a lodging place, the LORD met Moses and wanted to kill him.
25Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”
26So he let him alone. Then she said, “You are a bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision.
27The LORD said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” He went, and met him on God’s mountain, and kissed him.
28Moses told Aaron all the LORD’s words with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had instructed him.
29Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.
30Aaron spoke all the words which the LORD had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
31The people believed, and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
