Cuando el pueblo vió que Moisés se demoraba en bajar de la montaña, ellos fueron con Aarón y le dijeron: "Ven, haznos un ídolo para que vaya delante de nosotros. Porque de este tal Moisés, el hombre que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no se sabe qué ha pasado con él.

MAS viendo el pueblo que Moisés tardaba en descender del monte, allegóse entonces á Aarón, y dijéronle: Levántate, haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, aquel varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le haya acontecido.

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

When the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”

Así que Aarón les dijo: "Quiten las argollas de oro de sus mujeres, hijos e hijas, y entreguenmelas."

Y Aarón les dijo: Apartad los zarcillos de oro que están en las orejas de vuestras mujeres, y de vuestros hijos, y de vuestras hijas, y traédmelos.

And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

Aaron said to them, “Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.”

Todas las personas se quitaron las argollas de oro que tenían en sus orejas y las trajeron a Aarón.

Entonces todo el pueblo apartó los zarcillos de oro que tenían en sus orejas, y trajéronlos á Aarón:

And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

All the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.

Él recibió el oro de ellos, lo fundió en un molde y lo hizo en forma de becerro. Entonces el pueblo dijo: "Israel, este es tu dios que te saco de la tierra de Egipto."

El cual los tomó de las manos de ellos, y formólo con buril, é hizo de ello un becerro de fundición. Entonces dijeron: Israel, estos son tus dioses, que te sacaron de la tierra de Egipto.

And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

He received what they handed him, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molded calf. Then they said, “These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

Cuando Aarón vió esto, construyó un altar ante el becerro e hizo una proclamación; él dijo: "Mañana será el festival en honor al SEÑOR."

Y viendo esto Aarón, edificó un altar delante del becerro; y pregonó Aarón, y dijo: Mañana será fiesta á Jehová.

And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.

When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD.”

El pueblo se levantó temprano al próximo día y ofreció ofrendas quemadas y trajeron ofrenda de paz. Entonces se sentaron a comer y a beber, y luego se levantaron a parrandear en celebración salvaje.

Y el día siguiente madrugaron, y ofrecieron holocaustos, y presentaron pacíficos: y sentóse el pueblo á comer y á beber, y levantáronse á regocijarse.

And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

Entonces el SEÑOR habló a Moisés: "Vé rápido, porque tu pueblo, el que sacaste de la tierra de Egipto, se ha corrompido.

Entonces Jehová dijo á Moisés: Anda, desciende, porque tu pueblo que sacaste de tierra de Egipto se ha corrompido:

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

The LORD spoke to Moses, “Go, get down; for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!

Han abandonado rápidamente el camino que le ordené. Han formado un becerro y lo han adorado con sacrificios. Han dicho: 'Israel, éste es tu dios el que te saco de la tierra de Egipto.'"

Presto se han apartado del camino que yo les mandé, y se han hecho un becerro de fundición, y lo han adorado, y han sacrificado á él, y han dicho: Israel, estos son tus dioses, que te sacaron de la tierra de Egipto.

They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

They have turned away quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”

Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: "He visto este pueblo. Míralo, son un pueblo altivo.

Dijo más Jehová á Moisés: Yo he visto á este pueblo, que por cierto es pueblo de dura cerviz:

And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

The LORD said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.

Ahora, no trates de detenerme. Mi furia ardera fuerte en contra ellos, así que lo destruiré. Entonces haré de tí una gran nación."

Ahora pues, déjame que se encienda mi furor en ellos, y los consuma: y á ti yo te pondré sobre gran gente.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Now therefore leave me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them, and that I may consume them; and I will make of you a great nation.”

Pero Moisés trató de calmar al SEÑOR su Dios. Le dijo: "SEÑOR, ¿por qué tu furia arde en contra de tu pueblo, el cual sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran poder y con asombrosa mano?

Entonces Moisés oró á la faz de Jehová su Dios, y dijo: Oh Jehová, ¿por qué se encenderá tu furor en tu pueblo, que tú sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran fortaleza, y con mano fuerte?

And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

Moses begged the LORD his God, and said, “LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

¿Porque deberían decir los Egipcios: 'Él los saco con maléfica intención, para matarlos en las montañas y destruírlos de la faz de la tierra?' Vuélvete de tu furia ardiente y arrepiéntete de este castigo contra tu pueblo.

¿Por qué han de hablar los Egipcios, diciendo: Para mal los sacó, para matarlos en los montes, y para raerlos de sobre la haz de la tierra? Vuélvete del furor de tu ira, y arrepiéntete del mal de tu pueblo.

Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.

Why should the Egyptians talk, saying, ‘He brought them out for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth’? Turn from your fierce wrath, and turn away from this evil against your people.

Acuérdate de Abraham, Isaac y de Israel, tus siervos, a quienes juraste por tí mismo y les dijiste: 'Haré a tu descendencia como las estrellas de los cielos, y le daré a tus descendientes toda esta tierra de la cual le he hablado. Ellos la heredarán para siempre.'"

Acuérdate de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, tus siervos, á los cuales has jurado por ti mismo, y dícholes: Yo multiplicaré vuestra simiente como las estrellas del cielo; y daré á vuestra simiente toda esta tierra que he dicho, y la tomarán por heredad para siempre.

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

Entonces el SEÑOR cedió del castigo que dijo le inflijaría a su pueblo.

Entonces Jehová se arrepintió del mal que dijo que había de hacer á su pueblo.

And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

So the LORD turned away from the evil which he said he would do to his people.

Entonces Moisés se volteó y bajó de la montaña, cargando en sus manos las dos tablas de los decretos del pacto. Las dos tablas fueron escritas en ambos lados, por frente y por detrás.

Y volvióse Moisés, y descendió del monte trayendo en su mano las dos tablas del testimonio, las tablas escritas por ambos lados; de una parte y de otra estaban escritas.

And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.

Las tablas eran el propio trabajo de Dios, y la escritura era la propia escritura de Dios, grabada en ellas.

Y las tablas eran obra de Dios, y la escritura era escritura de Dios grabada sobre las tablas.

And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.

Cuando Josué escuchó el alboroto del pueblo que gritaba, le dijo a Moisés: "Hay un alboroto de combate en el campamento."

Y oyendo Josué el clamor del pueblo que gritaba, dijo á Moisés: Alarido de pelea hay en el campo.

And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”

Pero Moisés le dijo: "No es el sonido de victoria y tampoco de un pueblo en derrota, sino más bien el sonido de cánticos el que escucho."

Y él respondió: No es eco de algazara de fuertes, ni eco de alaridos de flacos: algazara de cantar oigo yo.

And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.

He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”

Cuando Moisés se acercó al campamento, vió a el becerro y al pueblo danzando también. Él se enojó mucho. Tiró las tablas de sus manos y las rompió al pié de la montaña.

Y aconteció, que como llegó él al campo, y vió el becerro y las danzas, enardeciósele la ira á Moisés, y arrojó las tablas de sus manos, y quebrólas al pie del monte.

And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.

Tomó el becerro que el pueblo hizo, lo quemó, lo molió en polvo, y lo derramó en el agua. Entonces hizo que el pueblo de Israel bebiera del agua.

Y tomó el becerro que habían hecho, y quemólo en el fuego, y moliólo hasta reducirlo á polvo, que esparció sobre las aguas, y diólo á beber á los hijos de Israel.

And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

Luego Moisés le preguntó a Aarón: "¿Qué te hizo este pueblo, que le haz traído tan grande pecado sobre ellos?"

Y dijo Moisés á Aarón: ¿Qué te ha hecho este pueblo, que has traído sobre él tan gran pecado?

And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?

Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”

Aarón le contestó: "No dejes que tu furia arda, mi señor. Tú conoces este pueblo, y cómo se confabulan para hacer el mal.

Y respondió Aarón: No se enoje mi señor; tú conoces el pueblo, que es inclinado á mal.

And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.

Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.

Ellos me dijeron: 'Haznos un dios que vaya delante de nosotros. De este tal Moisés, el hombre que nos saco de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué ha sucedido con él.

Porque me dijeron: Haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros, que á este Moisés, el varón que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le ha acontecido.

For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

For they said to me, ‘Make us gods, which shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’

Así que les dijé, 'todo aquél que tuviese oro puesto que se lo quitara.' Ellos me dieron el oro y yo lo tiré al fuego, y salió este becerro."

Y yo les respondí: ¿Quién tiene oro? apartadlo. Y diéronmelo, y echélo en el fuego, y salió este becerro.

And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off.’ So they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”

Moisés vió que el pueblo corría salvajemente (dado que Aarón los había dejado salirse de control, causando que sus enemigos se burlaran de ellos).

Y viendo Moisés que el pueblo estaba despojado, porque Aarón lo había despojado para vergüenza entre sus enemigos,

And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

When Moses saw that the people were out of control, (for Aaron had let them lose control, causing derision among their enemies),

Entonces Moisés se detuvo a la entrada del campamento y dijo: "Todo aquél que esté del lado del SEÑOR, venga conmigo." Entonces todos los Levitas se reunieron a su lado.

Púsose Moisés á la puerta del real, y dijo: ¿Quién es de Jehová? júntese conmigo. Y juntáronse con él todos los hijos de Leví.

Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, “Whoever is on the LORD’s side, come to me!” All the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him.

Entonces él les dijo: "El SEÑOR, el Dios de Israel, dice así: Que cada hombre saque su espada y vaya de entrada a entrada através del campamento, y mate con esta a su hermano, a su acompañante, y a su vecino."

Y él les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de Israel: Poned cada uno su espada sobre su muslo: pasad y volved de puerta á puerta por el campo, y matad cada uno á su hermano, y á su amigo, y á su pariente.

And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

He said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’”

Los Levitas hicieron lo que Moisés les ordenó. Ese día murieron cerca de tres mil personas.

Y los hijos de Leví lo hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés: y cayeron del pueblo en aquel día como tres mil hombres.

And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

The sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. About three thousand men fell of the people that day.

Entonces Moisés dijo a los Levitas: "Ustedes han sido ubicados hoy al servicio del SEÑOR, dado que cada uno ha tomado acción en contra de su hijo y de su hermano, por lo cual el SEÑOR entregará una bendición hoy."

Entonces Moisés dijo: Hoy os habéis consagrado á Jehová, porque cada uno se ha consagrado en su hijo, y en su hermano, para que dé él hoy bendición sobre vosotros.

For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.

Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, for every man was against his son and against his brother, that he may give you a blessing today.”

Al próximo día Moisés le dijo al pueblo: "Ustedes han cometido un gran pecado. Ahora subiré donde el SEÑOR. Quizás pueda hacer una expiación por su pecado."

Y aconteció que el día siguiente dijo Moisés al pueblo: Vosotros habéis cometido un gran pecado: mas yo subiré ahora á Jehová; quizá le aplacaré acerca de vuestro pecado.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”

Moisés regresó donde el SEÑOR y dijo: "Óh, este pueblo ha cometido un gran pecado y se ha hecho un ídolo de oro.

Entonces volvió Moisés á Jehová, y dijo: Ruégote, pues este pueblo ha cometido un gran pecado, porque se hicieron dioses de oro,

And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Moses returned to the LORD, and said, “Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.

Ahora bien, perdona su pecado; más si no lo haces, sácame del libro que haz escrito."

Que perdones ahora su pecado, y si no, ráeme ahora de tu libro que has escrito.

Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”

El SEÑOR le contestó a Moisés: "Todo aquél que haya pecado contra mí, esa persona será borrada de mi libro.

Y Jehová respondió á Moisés: Al que pecare contra mí, á éste raeré yo de mi libro.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot him out of my book.

Así que ahora ve, guía a mi pueblo hasta el lugar que he hablado. Fíjate, mi ángel irá delante de tí. Pero en el día que los castigue, los castigaré por su pecado."

Ve pues ahora, lleva á este pueblo donde te he dicho: he aquí mi ángel irá delante de ti; que en el día de mi visitación yo visitaré en ellos su pecado.

Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

Entonces el SEÑOR envió una plaga al pueblo porque había hecho un becerro, el que Aarón formó.

Y Jehová hirió al pueblo, porque habían hecho el becerro que formó Aarón.

And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

The LORD struck the people, because of what they did with the calf, which Aaron made.
