Pero cuando el pueblo vio que Moisés tardaba en bajar de la Montaña, se reunió alrededor de Aarón y le dijeron: ¡Levántate, haznos ʼelohim que vayan delante de nosotros! Porque este Moisés, el varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le sucedió.
MAS viendo el pueblo que Moisés tardaba en descender del monte, allegóse entonces á Aarón, y dijéronle: Levántate, haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros; porque á este Moisés, aquel varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le haya acontecido.
And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Entonces Aarón les dijo: Quiten los zarcillos de oro de las orejas de sus esposas, sus hijos y sus hijas, y tráiganmelos.

Así que todo el pueblo se quitó los zarcillos de oro que tenían en sus orejas y los llevaron a Aarón.

And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Al ver esto Aarón edificó un altar delante de becerro y pregonó: ¡Mañana será fiesta para Yavé!

Por lo cual al día siguiente madrugaron, ofrecieron holocaustos y llevaron ofrendas de paz. Después el pueblo se sentó a comer y a beber, y se levantaron para divertirse.

Pronto se apartaron del camino que Yo les ordené. Hicieron un becerro de fundición, se postraron ante él y le ofrecieron sacrificios. Y dijeron: Israel, éste es tu ʼelohim que te sacó de la tierra de Egipto.
Presto se han apartado del camino que yo les mandé, y se han hecho un becerro de fundición, y lo han adorado, y han sacrificado á él, y han dicho: Israel, estos son tus dioses, que te sacaron de la tierra de Egipto.

Además Yavé dijo a Moisés: Yo observé a este pueblo, y ciertamente es un pueblo indómito.
Dijo más Jehová á Moisés: Yo he visto á este pueblo, que por cierto es pueblo de dura cerviz:
And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
The LORD said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.
Deja ahora que se encienda mi ira contra ellos y los consuma, y haré de ti una nación grande.
Ahora pues, déjame que se encienda mi furor en ellos, y los consuma: y á ti yo te pondré sobre gran gente.
Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Entonces Moisés suplicó en la Presencia de Yavé su ʼElohim: Oh Yavé, ¿por qué se encenderá tu ira contra tu pueblo, al cual sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran poder y con mano fuerte?
Entonces Moisés oró á la faz de Jehová su Dios, y dijo: Oh Jehová, ¿por qué se encenderá tu furor en tu pueblo, que tú sacaste de la tierra de Egipto con gran fortaleza, y con mano fuerte?
And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
Moses begged the LORD his God, and said, “LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
¿Por qué tienen que hablar los egipcios: Con mala intención los sacó para matarlos en las montañas y para destruirlos de la superficie de la tierra? ¡Desiste del ardor de tu ira y cambia de parecer con respecto a hacer mal a tu pueblo!
¿Por qué han de hablar los Egipcios, diciendo: Para mal los sacó, para matarlos en los montes, y para raerlos de sobre la haz de la tierra? Vuélvete del furor de tu ira, y arrepiéntete del mal de tu pueblo.
Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
Why should the Egyptians talk, saying, ‘He brought them out for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth’? Turn from your fierce wrath, and turn away from this evil against your people.
Acuérdate de Abraham, Isaac e Israel, tus esclavos, a quienes juraste por Ti mismo: Multiplicaré tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo. Daré a tu descendencia toda esta tierra de la cual hablé y la tomarán como posesión para siempre.

Y Yavé desistió del mal que dijo que iba a hacer a su pueblo.
Entonces Jehová se arrepintió del mal que dijo que había de hacer á su pueblo.
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
So the LORD turned away from the evil which he said he would do to his people.
Moisés volvió y descendió de la montaña. Llevaba en su mano las dos tablas del Testimonio escritas por ambos lados, ciertamente por un lado y por el otro.
Y volvióse Moisés, y descendió del monte trayendo en su mano las dos tablas del testimonio, las tablas escritas por ambos lados; de una parte y de otra estaban escritas.

And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.
He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory. It is not the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
Aconteció que cuando llegó al campamento, observó el becerro y las danzas, y se encendió la ira de Moisés. Y al lanzar las tablas de sus manos, las rompió al pie de la Montaña.
Y aconteció, que como llegó él al campo, y vió el becerro y las danzas, enardeciósele la ira á Moisés, y arrojó las tablas de sus manos, y quebrólas al pie del monte.
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
As soon as he came near to the camp, he saw the calf and the dancing. Then Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
Luego tomó el becerro que hicieron, lo quemó en el fuego y lo molió hasta reducirlo a polvo, el cual esparció sobre la superficie del agua y dio a beber a los hijos de Israel.

Y Moisés preguntó a Aarón: ¿Qué te hizo este pueblo para que trajeras tan gran pecado sobre él?

And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
Aarón respondió: No se encienda la ira de mi ʼadón. Tú mismo sabes que este pueblo es propenso al mal.
Y respondió Aarón: No se enoje mi señor; tú conoces el pueblo, que es inclinado á mal.
And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
Ellos me dijeron: Haznos ʼelohim que vaya delante de nosotros, porque a este Moisés, el varón que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le sucedió.
Porque me dijeron: Haznos dioses que vayan delante de nosotros, que á este Moisés, el varón que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos qué le ha acontecido.
For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

Les dije: El que tenga oro, que se lo quite. Me lo dieron, lo eché al fuego y salió este becerro.
Y yo les respondí: ¿Quién tiene oro? apartadlo. Y diéronmelo, y echélo en el fuego, y salió este becerro.
And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off.’ So they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”
Al ver Moisés que el pueblo estaba desenfrenado, porque Aarón lo permitió para que llegara a ser una vergüenza en medio de sus enemigos,
Y viendo Moisés que el pueblo estaba despojado, porque Aarón lo había despojado para vergüenza entre sus enemigos,
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
When Moses saw that the people were out of control, (for Aaron had let them lose control, causing derision among their enemies),
se puso en pie en la entrada del campamento, y exclamó: ¡El que esté por Yavé, únase conmigo! Y se unieron a él todos los hijos de Leví.
Púsose Moisés á la puerta del real, y dijo: ¿Quién es de Jehová? júntese conmigo. Y juntáronse con él todos los hijos de Leví.
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

Entonces él les dijo: Yavé ʼElohim de Israel dice: Ate cada uno su espada a su cintura. Pasen y vuelvan de entrada en entrada del campamento, y cada uno mate a su hermano, a su amigo y a su pariente.
Y él les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de Israel: Poned cada uno su espada sobre su muslo: pasad y volved de puerta á puerta por el campo, y matad cada uno á su hermano, y á su amigo, y á su pariente.
And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
He said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.’”
Los hijos de Leví hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés, y cayeron del pueblo aquel día como 3.000 hombres.
Y los hijos de Leví lo hicieron conforme al dicho de Moisés: y cayeron del pueblo en aquel día como tres mil hombres.
And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

Entonces Moisés les dijo: Hoy se consagraron ustedes a Yavé, pues cada uno se consagró en la muerte de su hijo y en su hermano para que Él les otorgue una bendición hoy.
Entonces Moisés dijo: Hoy os habéis consagrado á Jehová, porque cada uno se ha consagrado en su hijo, y en su hermano, para que dé él hoy bendición sobre vosotros.
For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
Moses said, “Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, for every man was against his son and against his brother, that he may give you a blessing today.”
Ocurrió que al día siguiente Moisés dijo al pueblo: Ustedes cometieron un gran pecado. Pero ahora subiré a Yavé. Tal vez pueda apaciguarlo por su pecado.
Y aconteció que el día siguiente dijo Moisés al pueblo: Vosotros habéis cometido un gran pecado: mas yo subiré ahora á Jehová; quizá le aplacaré acerca de vuestro pecado.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
On the next day, Moses said to the people, “You have sinned a great sin. Now I will go up to the LORD. Perhaps I shall make atonement for your sin.”
Moisés volvió a Yavé y le dijo: ¡Ay, este pueblo cometió un gran pecado: hizo un ʼelohim de oro para él mismo!
Entonces volvió Moisés á Jehová, y dijo: Ruégote, pues este pueblo ha cometido un gran pecado, porque se hicieron dioses de oro,
And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
Moses returned to the LORD, and said, “Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.
Pero ahora, perdona su pecado. Si no, ¡bórrame de tu rollo que escribiste!
Que perdones ahora su pecado, y si no, ráeme ahora de tu libro que has escrito.
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”
Pero Yavé dijo a Moisés: Al que peque contra Mí lo borraré de mi rollo.
Y Jehová respondió á Moisés: Al que pecare contra mí, á éste raeré yo de mi libro.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
The LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot him out of my book.
Ahora vé, conduce a este pueblo adonde te dije. Mira, mi Ángel irá delante de ti, pero el día cuando Yo castigue, los castigaré por su pecado.
Ve pues ahora, lleva á este pueblo donde te he dicho: he aquí mi ángel irá delante de ti; que en el día de mi visitación yo visitaré en ellos su pecado.
Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless, in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”
Entonces Yavé hirió al pueblo por lo que hicieron con el becerro que Aarón formó.
Y Jehová hirió al pueblo, porque habían hecho el becerro que formó Aarón.
And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.
The LORD struck the people, because of what they did with the calf, which Aaron made.
