UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

Und das Weib ward schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Als sie sah, dass er schön war, verbarg sie ihn drei Monate lang.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Und da sie ihn nicht länger verbergen konnte, nahm sie ein Kästlein von Rohr, verklebte es mit Asphalt und Pech und legte das Kind darein; dann setzte sie es ins Schilf am Ufer des Nil.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Seine Schwester aber stellte sich in einiger Entfernung auf, um zu erfahren, wie es ihm ergehen würde.

Da kam die Tochter des Pharao an den Nil herunter, um zu baden. Während nun ihre Dienerinnen am Ufer des Nil hin und her gingen, sah sie das Kästlein mitten im Schilf, und sie sandte ihre Magd hin und liess es holen.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Und als sie es auftat und das Kind sah - es war ein weinendes Knäblein -, da hatte sie Mitleid mit ihm, und sie sprach: Das ist eins von den Kindlein der Hebräer.

Nun sprach seine Schwester zu der Tochter des Pharao: Soll ich hingehen und dir eine hebräische Amme rufen, dass sie dir das Kind stille?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Die Tochter des Pharao antwortete ihr: Ja, gehe. Und die Jungfrau ging hin und rief die Mutter des Kindes.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Da sprach die Tochter des Pharao zu ihr: Nimm diesen Knaben mit dir und stille ihn; ich will dir deinen Lohn geben. Das Weib nahm den Knaben und stillte ihn.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Und als der Knabe gross geworden war, brachte sie ihn der Tochter des Pharao. Die nahm ihn als Sohn an und nannte ihn Mose, indem sie sprach: Ich habe ihn ja aus dem Wasser gezogen. (1) vgl. Anm. zu 1Mo 29:32.

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

ZU jener Zeit nun, als Mose gross geworden war, ging er einst hinaus zu seinen Brüdern und sah ihren Fronarbeiten zu. Da sah er, wie ein Ägypter einen Hebräer, einen seiner Brüder, schlug.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

Und er schaute sich nach allen Seiten um, und als er sah, dass kein Mensch zugegen war, erschlug er den Ägypter und verscharrte ihn im Sande.

Als er am nächsten Tage wieder hinausging, zankten gerade zwei Hebräer miteinander. Da sprach er zu dem, der im Unrecht war: Warum schlägst du deinen Nächsten?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

Der aber erwiderte: Wer hat dich zum Obersten und Richter über uns gesetzt? Gedenkst du mich auch zu töten, wie du den Ägypter getötet hast? Da fürchtete sich Mose; denn er dachte: Wahrhaftig, die Sache ist ruchbar geworden.

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Auch der Pharao hörte von der Sache, und er trachtete danach, Mose zu töten. Aber Mose floh vor dem Pharao und nahm Aufenthalt im Lande Midian; da setzte er sich an einen Brunnen.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Nun hatte der Priester der Midianiter sieben Töchter; die kamen, schöpften Wasser und füllten die Tränkrinnen, um die Schafe ihres Vaters zu tränken.

Sie antworteten: Ein Ägypter hat uns gegen die Hirten geholfen; ja, er hat uns sogar Wasser geschöpft und die Schafe getränkt.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

Da sprach er zu seinen Töchtern: Wo ist er denn? Warum habt ihr den Mann dort gelassen? Ruft ihn her, dass er mit uns esse.

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Und Mose willigte ein, bei dem Manne zu bleiben, und dieser gab dem Mose seine Tochter Zippora.

Und es geschah im Verlaufe jener langen Zeit, dass der König von Ägypten starb. Die Israeliten aber seufzten ob der Sklaverei und schrieen, und ihr Wehgeschrei ob der Sklaverei drang empor zu Gott.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
