Ahora, un hombre de la tribu de Leví se casó con una mujer de Leví.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

La mujer quedó embarazada y le dió a luz a un hijo. Cuando ella vio que él era un niño sano, ella lo escondió por tres meses.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

The woman conceived and bore a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months.

Pero cuando ella no podía esconderlo más, ella tomó una canasta de papiro y la selló con betún y brea. Luego ella colocó al niño en la canasta y la colocó entre las cañas en las aguas de la orilla del río.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Su hermana se paró a la distancia para ver lo que le pasaba a él.

Y paróse una hermana suya á lo lejos, para ver lo que le acontecería.

And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

La hija del Faraón fue a bañarse en el río mientras sus asistentes caminaban a lo largo de la orilla del río. Ella vió la canasta entre las cañas y envió a sus asitentes a que la buscaran.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Cuando ella la abrió, ella vió al niño. Advirtió, que el bebé estaba llorando. Ella tuvo compasión de él y dijo: "Este ciertamente es un hijo de los Hebreos."

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

She opened it, and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. She had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”

Luego la hermana del bebé le dijo a la hija del Faraón:"¿Debería yo ir y encontrarte una mujer hebrea para que cuide al niño para ti?"

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

La hija del Faraón le dijo a ella: "Ve." Así que la niña fue y buscó a la madre del bebé.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” The young woman went and called the child’s mother.

La hija del faraón le dijo a la mamá del bebé: "Toma este bebé y cuídalo por mí, y yo te pagaré un salario." Así que la mujer tomó el niño y lo cuidó.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” The woman took the child, and nursed him.

Cuando el niño creció, ella lo llevó a la hija del faraón y él vino a ser su hijo. Ella lo llamó Moisés y dijo: "Porque yo lo saqué de las aguas."

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Cuando Moisés creció, fue a su gente y observó su duro trabajo. El vió a un egipcio golpeando a un hebreo, uno de su propio pueblo.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

In those days, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and saw their burdens. He saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.

Él miró a un lado y al otro lado y cuando él vió que no había nadie allí, él mató al egipcio y escondio su cuerpo en la arena.

Y miró á todas partes, y viendo que no parecía nadie, mató al Egipcio, y escondiólo en la arena.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

Él salió al día siguiente, y, observó, dos hombres hebreos que estaban peleando. Él le dijo a aquel que estaba equivocado: "¿Porqué golpeas a tu compañero?"

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

Pero el hombre dijo: " ¿Quién te hizo líder y juez sobre nosotros? ¿Estás planificando matarme como mataste al egipcio? Entonces a Moisés le dio miedo y dijo: "Lo que yo hice ciertamente es conocido a otros."

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Ahora cuando faraón escuchó esto, él intentó matar a Moisés. Pero Moisés huyó de faraón y se quedó en la tierra de Madián. Allí él se sentó cerca de un pozo.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Ahora, el sacerdote de Madián tenía siete hijas. Ellas vinieron, sacaron agua, y llenaron los abrevaderos de agua para el rebaño de su padre.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

Los pastores vinieron e intentaron llevárselas, pero Moisés fue y las ayudó. Luego él hecho agua al rebaño.

Mas los pastores vinieron, y echáronlas: Entonces Moisés se levantó y defendiólas, y abrevó sus ovejas.

And the shepherds came and drove them away: but Moses stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

Cuando las niñas fueron hacia Reuel su padre, él dijo, "¿Porqué están en casa tan temprano?"

Y volviendo ellas á Ragüel su padre, díjoles él: ¿Por qué habéis hoy venido tan presto?

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

Ellas dijeron, "Un egipcio nos rescató de unos pastores. Él incluso sacó agua para el rebaño."

Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

They said, “An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, and watered the flock.”

Él le dijo a sus hijas, "Entonces, ¿Donde está él? ¿Porque dejaron al hombre? Llamenlo para que pueda comer con nosotros."

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Moisés aceptó en quedarse con el hombre, quien le iba a dar a su hija Sefora en matrimonio.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

Ella concibió un hijo, y Moisés lo llamó Gersón; él dijo, "Yo he sido un residente en una tierra extraña."

La cual le parió un hijo, y él le puso por nombre Gersom: porque dijo: Peregrino soy en tierra ajena.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

She bore a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, “I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land.”

Un largo tiempo despúes, el rey de Egipto murió. Los Israelitas gimieron por el trabajo de esclavo. Ellos gimieron por ayuda, y sus suplicas subieron a Dios debido a su servidumbre.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

In the course of those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the children of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

Cuando Dios escuchó sus gemidos, Dios se recordó su pacto con Abraham, con Isaac y con Jacob.

Y oyó Dios el gemido de ellos, y acordóse de su pacto con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
