Und ein Mann vom Hause Levi ging hin und nahm eine Tochter Levi.

UN varón de la familia de Leví fué, y tomó por mujer una hija de Leví:

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

A man of the house of Levi went and took a daughter of Levi as his wife.

Und das Weib empfing und gebar einen Sohn; und sie sah ihn, daß er gut war, und verbarg ihn drei Monate.

La cual concibió, y parió un hijo: y viéndolo que era hermoso, túvole escondido tres meses.

And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.

Und sie vermochte ihn nicht länger zu verbergen, und nahm ihm ein Kästlein von Binsen und verklebte es mit Erdharz und Pech, und legte das Kind hinein und legte es in das Schilf am Ufer des Stroms.

Pero no pudiendo ocultarle más tiempo, tomó una arquilla de juncos, y calafateóla con pez y betún, y colocó en ella al niño, y púsolo en un carrizal á la orilla del río:

And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.

When she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. She put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

Und seine Schwester stellte sich von ferne, um zu erfahren, was mit ihm werden würde.

Und Pharaos Tochter kam herab an den Strom, um zu baden, und ihre Mädchen gingen am Rande des Stromes; und sie sah das Kästlein mitten im Schilf und sandte ihre Magd und ließ es holen.

Y la hija de Faraón descendió á lavarse al río, y paseándose sus doncellas por la ribera del río, vió ella la arquilla en el carrizal, y envió una criada suya á que la tomase.

And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.

Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her servant to get it.

Und sie öffnete es und sah das Kind, und siehe, der Junge weinte, und sie bemitleidete ihn und sprach: Es ist eines von den Kindern der Hebräer.

Y como la abrió, vió al niño; y he aquí que el niño lloraba. Y teniendo compasión de él, dijo: De los niños de los Hebreos es éste.

And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.

Und seine Schwester sprach zu der Tochter Pharaos: Soll ich gehen und dir ein säugendes Weib rufen von den Hebräerinnen, daß sie dir das Kind säuge?

Entonces su hermana dijo á la hija de Faraón: ¿Iré á llamarte un ama de las Hebreas, para que te críe este niño?

Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?

Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?”

Und die Tochter Pharaos sprach zu ihr: Geh hin! Und die Jungfrau ging und rief die Mutter des Kindes.

Y la hija de Faraón respondió: Ve. Entonces fué la doncella, y llamó á la madre del niño;

And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

Und die Tochter Pharaos sprach zu ihr: Nimm dieses Kind und säuge mir es und ich will dir deinen Lohn geben. Und das Weib nahm das Kind und säugte es.

A la cual dijo la hija de Faraón: Lleva este niño, y críamelo, y yo te lo pagaré. Y la mujer tomó al niño, y criólo.

And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.

Und das Kind ward groß und sie brachte ihn zur Tochter des Pharao und er ward ihr zum Sohn, und sie nannte seinen Namen Mose; und sprach: Weil aus dem Wasser ich ihn habe gezogen.

Y como creció el niño, ella lo trajo á la hija de Faraón, la cual lo prohijó, y púsole por nombre Moisés, diciendo: Porque de las aguas lo saqué.

And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

Und es geschah in jenen Tagen, als Mose war groß geworden, daß er hinausging zu seinen Brüdern und ihre Lasten sah. Und er sah, wie ein ägyptischer Mann einen hebräischen Mann von seinen Brüdern schlug.

Y en aquellos días acaeció que, crecido ya Moisés, salió á sus hermanos, y vió sus cargas: y observó á un Egipcio que hería á uno de los Hebreos, sus hermanos.

And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

Und er wandte sich hin und her und sah, daß kein Mann da war, und schlug den Ägypter und verbarg ihn im Sande.

And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

Und er ging am zweiten Tag aus und siehe, zwei hebräische Männer zankten sich. Und er sprach zu dem, der Unrecht hatte: Warum schlägst du deinen Genossen?

Y salió al día siguiente, y viendo á dos Hebreos que reñían, dijo al que hacía la injuria: ¿Por qué hieres á tu prójimo?

And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow?

He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

Und er sprach: Wer hat dich zum Manne, der Oberste und Richter über uns gesetzt? Sprichst du so, um mich auch zu erwürgen, wie du den Ägypter erwürgt hast? Und Mose fürchtete sich und sprach: So ist also die Sache bekannt geworden!

Y él respondió: ¿Quién te ha puesto á ti por príncipe y juez sobre nosotros? ¿piensas matarme como mataste al Egipcio? Entonces Moisés tuvo miedo, y dijo: Ciertamente esta cosa es descubierta.

And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”

Und Pharao hörte diese Sache und er suchte den Mose zu erwürgen. Mose aber entfloh vor Pharao und wohnte im Lande Midian; und er wohnte bei einem Brunnen.

Y oyendo Faraón este negocio, procuró matar á Moisés: mas Moisés huyó de delante de Faraón, y habitó en la tierra de Madián; y sentóse junto á un pozo.

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well.

Und der Priester Midians hatte sieben Töchter. Und sie kamen und schöpften und füllten die Rinnen, um das Kleinvieh ihres Vaters zu tränken.

Tenía el sacerdote de Madián siete hijas, las cuales vinieron á sacar agua, para llenar las pilas y dar de beber á las ovejas de su padre.

And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

Und sie sagten: Ein ägyptischer Mann rettete uns aus der Hand der Hirten und hat uns auch geschöpft und das Kleinvieh getränkt.

Y ellas respondieron: Un varón Egipcio nos defendió de mano de los pastores, y también nos sacó el agua, y abrevó las ovejas.

And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also drew water enough for us, and watered the flock.

Und er sprach zu seinen Töchtern: Und wo ist er? Warum habt ihr den Mann zurückgelassen? Ruft ihm, daß er Brot esse.

Y dijo á sus hijas: ¿Y dónde está? ¿por qué habéis dejado ese hombre? llamadle para que coma pan.

And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread.

He said to his daughters, “Where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread.”

Und Mose war willens, bei dem Manne zu wohnen; und er gab dem Mose seine Tochter Zipporah.

Y Moisés acordó en morar con aquel varón; y él dió á Moisés á su hija Séphora:

And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

Und es geschah nach vielen Tagen, daß der König von Ägypten starb. Und die Söhne Israels seufzten über ihre Knechtschaft und schrien und ihr Geschrei stieg auf zu Gott ob der Knechtschaft.

Y aconteció que después de muchos días murió el rey de Egipto, y los hijos de Israel suspiraron á causa de la servidumbre, y clamaron: y subió á Dios el clamor de ellos con motivo de su servidumbre.

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.

Und Gott hörte ihr Stöhnen und Gott gedachte seines Bundes mit Abraham, mit Isaak und mit Jakob.
